Great central location Near Waverley Railway Station. Good buffet breakfast in a pleasant dinning room overlooking Princes Street. A nice modernised bathroom with lots of hot water and free bottles of bath bubbles and a decent sized bath. A tea maker with plenty of tea/coffee choices and complimentary short bread. Very welcome after a long tiresome journey. Dingy bedroom with tatty grey net curtains. A old foisty smell throughout the public areas of the hotel, made worse by attempts to conceal it with perfumed products. The smell was overwhelming. An old and tired feel throughout, with the exception of modernised bathroom. The high price bracket of this hotel is only sustainable because of its location, certainly not because of what it has to offer. |

Very convenient location for shopping, friendly staff, good internet connection. Location of the TV was poor, (sitting on the floor) channel selection was also poor with no international or news channels. No AC in rooms, making it hot and uncomfortable in summer. |

The Old Waverley Hotel is in a fantastic location with stunning views and great staff.We are a young couple and had a nice relaxing time at the hotel. there is great views of Edinburgh including the casle. if your looking for value for money and top quality staff then you couldnt go wrong its a real gem. |

The staff were friendly and polite, and the room was nice. We reserved a table at the hotel restaurant on the first night we arrived and were pleasantly surprised. We received great service and fantastic food too. |
