Easy to find, comfortable, welcoming, friendly, smart. Small carpark, perhaps a little too quiet.

Entrance and reception, all public areas very good. Lots of black marmle, granite and mirrors Room lacked attention to detail. There was no soap or bath products availabe - had to ask for soap. Wallpaper was scratched. Window frames dirty with mould. No iron or board despite being noted as being present. Not all drinks/snacks available on drinks tray - so how can you prove you haven't had it.

Visually the hotel is beautifully decorated. Black marble, chrome, mirrors rococo/baroque style. However after that it was down hill in more senses than one. Visiting family and festival. Usual hotel fully booked so tried here. Room only per night:- £195 !! Soft drinks on tray £4 for 200mls, no bottle openers and 1 glass for 2 people.(never corrected when room serviced next day). Don't have breakfast but like a cup of tea first thing in the morning. No tea making facilities in the rooms. Limited parking, everything double parked, so have to hand in keys to reception. Door locked after 11pm, obtained key to let ourselves in. Felt very strange creeping in to a dark silent hotel, 11. 40 pm and double checking we had properly locked the front door of a luxury hotel. No lift and we were on the top floor. Had previously tripped on their black marble hallway step and hurt my knee so found the climb slow. There were many other things that left the impression of penny pinching and money grabbing. Felt very disappointed at what we thought would be a nice experience.

For £50 a night on a Bank Hol weekend, this hotel was fab! Great location, very striking hotel, lovely room and recently re-done bathroom. This is minor...but for such a hotel to try and charge £4 for a 200ml bottle of Sprite really made us laugh!

Staff were welcoming Good parking Lovely entrance and downstairs Bed very comfy and lovely feather duvet and pillows. I would recommend based on staff and convenience but think there are some points which need addressing by the hotel. Bedroom was definitely not one on the website - ripped wallpaper, no mini bar only warm wine, beer and soft drinks, no tea or coffee making facilities but on top of your £145.00 one night stay you could pay £5.00 each for unlimited tea and coffee... Stingy toiletries, not enough for two showers. Dirty throw on end of bed, flannels stained and dressing gown, and the towels were frayed.

The entrance, bar area, restaurant and lounge was lovely The restaurant was shut for a Friday evening and wasn't mentioned when we booked. The room was very shabby and the bed was too soft and creaked a lot. No tea facilities in the room

Great location. Comfy, huge bed. This hotel was style over substance. The bath plug didn't work so when having a shower the bath filled up and we couldn't empty it. There was a HUGE crack down one wall in the bathroom. The window was broken and we couldn't open it. etc.

From arrival staff were very friendly and put themselves out to accommodate us. Room was very comfortable and worthy of he star rating. Restaurant very stylish, very clean with staff again that wanted to help even with a change of order. Being able to make your own tea/coffee in the room would be an additional plus.

The infinity bath was a novelty! The staff were appalling - and the Manager even worse. Extremely rude and unaccommodating when confronted with a simple problem with breakfast charges. Having paid £26 for 2 breakfasts I was then told that that was only for continental breakfast of which there was none! I was asked to pay another £23 (making 2 plates of breakfast nearly £50!!). When I was understandably I was not too happy I asked to speak to the manager who was also the owner(!) who was extremely rude and walked away from me whilst I was talking to him and shut his office door!
