The friendliness of all the staff made our stay really nice. The food was excellent and the menu choice very good. The views were stunning from our room and the walk down to the loch was lovely The decoration in the room left a lot to be desired. Lime green walls - yuk!!

The view from the room. Cleanliness of the bathroom - the kettle lead caught fire - smoke alarm went off - no one seemed to be bothered.

Staff were both accommodating and friendly. My early rise requirements were catered for particularly well and I enjoyed the relaxed but efficient ambience of the hotel. Very little not to like. There was quite a bit of traffic noise from the a82 but it didn't really disturb me.

Location was superb lochside view from room and surrounding scenery unbeatable. Hotel was quiet and the staff friendly, although clearly run off their feet. An upgrade of room was provided at a reasonable price and the rooms were regularly cleaned. The breakfast service was first class and the choice and excellent. The views from the restaurant used for breakfast were superb. The entrance of the hotel and reception are next door to the kitchens and a constant and unpleasant oily smell was present throughout the ground floor of the hotel. The main hallways and stairs were unclean but as the hotel is used by hill walkers and allows dogs this was within acceptable margins but would put some pele off. The restaurant was shut, and although breakfasts were well prepared and hearty, bar food available was expensive and of a poor standard. We were served a semi raw chicken breast and a tasteless curry. The bar carried a limited supply of draft beers, and it appeared that they were in need of being re stocked after Christmas and the New Year. A large collapsed marquee in the gardens spoilt the charm of the lochside. Sad as is could be an excellent hotel.

The hotel has a fantastic location just a few miles from Glencoe. From the moment that we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly, the food was great and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I'll definitely be back.

Fantastic location and very freindly staff The rooms in the hotel could do with a good clean, below our window's their was black mould which was quite unsightly, but I can only speak for our room

We stayed there on our honeymoon 36 years ago so this was a nostalgia trip but also convenient for a trip on the Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. We were worried that the hotel would have changed but needn't have done. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and it's in such a lovely setting, especially if you have a room with a loch view. It brought back so many happy memories.

Very friendly and helpfull staff. Beautifull location and gardens. Our room was very comfortable but very noisy as it was at the front of hotel. Traffic noise means you cannot have the window open at night. Bar meals well priced. Overall enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast on first morning was lovely but on the following two mornings was buffet style in hot trays. Food was lukewarm so by the time we were finished it was cold. Drinks in bar expensive.

The location is superb, Fort William and Glen Coe within easy reach. A good base for exploring the area. Right on the beach, there are some nice walks and the sunset was spectacular. The views from the lounge bar are superb, as was the view from the bedroom. The staff are friendly but there is something missing in the service - waiting 10 minutes in the breakfast room for any member of staff to appear to offer a cup of tea: the table set for my room was only half done two days in a row. The lounge bar food is good but again served without attention - I was sitting with an empty beer glass on two occasions when food was brought - if I had been asked I would have had another pint. As I say, the staff are friendly and polite but not interested enough in the guests. At check-out I waited 10 minutes for someone to appear at the desk. Overall, a brilliant hotel in an excellent location and I would stay there again and accept the idiosyncracies of a British Hotel.....

We liked everything about the Onich Hotel from its beautiful location overlooking Loch Linnhie to the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Their willingness to help and level of customer service was of a level which is difficult to find Nothing was too much bother and the manner in which staff shared information made our stay that much more relaxing. The menu, although simple, was more than adequate for most tastes and was not only well prepared but also well presented. We adjusted our booking from 1 to 2 nights at the very last minute but that was ok and well handled Our stay at the Onich Hotel is one which will remain with us for many a day.
