Very friendly and helpful owners who couldn,t do enough for you would stay there next time we are in Bideford
Friendly & helpful owners. Superb breakfast. Lovely patio looking over Bideford. Nice 10 minute walk into town. Good local real ales (bottled) in bar. Good car parking.
Nothing to fault.
We really liked the welcome from Steve & Jane & the fact that they would always go the extra mile to make our stay as nice as possible. They moved us to a ground floor room with walk in shower as I was suffering with a damaged knee & found stairs difficult. Nothing was too much trouble for them & their restaurant recommendations were first class. We can see they are putting a lot of effort into upgrading the property & can't wait to come back next year. Steve's breakfast croissants & Jane's cooked breakfast are worth the trip alone!!
Our hosts Steve and Jane were so welcoming and we enjoyed the wonderful views and breakfast. A must stay B & B.
Hosts are working hard to renovate fully. Our shower a bit sad. We wish them all the best as this place is a wonderful place to stay.
The host was very attentive and very polite. Ensured we were comfortable and got everything we needed. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Room and breakfast both great owners very attentive location was ideal for the town
staff food decor room
As answered above, there nothing to dislike. The welcome and general care was exceptional. The cooked breakfast put us right for an energetic day ahead.
Very friendly and helpful owners Very clean and comfortable room with good wifi. Excellent full English breakfast. Definitely would recommend this lovely hotel.
Location: a pleasant stroll into town. Very friendly welcome and a good breakfast.
Bedroom furniture is a little tired but is being updated.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and in a great location
Jane and Steve were wonderful hosts and could not do more for us. We came away feeling as though we had made new friends. Great breakfasts, cooked fresh to order too! Also great location. On the coast path, a few minutes cycle to the Tarka trail and less then 10 minutes walk into Bideford.
Our bathroom/bedroom although very clean was a little tired but Jane and Steve explained their refurbishment plans to us which will start very soon. We really do wish them every success.
Greeted on arrival with tea on the veranda. Owner very friendly, we arrived on the night of the carnival and massed pipes so town was buzing. Owner reccommended and booked an excellent fish restaurant. Very comfy bed.
1 very slight niggle - the entrance to the bathroom was a little narrow due to furniture
Orchard Hill is warm and welcoming, with wonderful hosts, great breakfasts, beautiful décor and good views. The location is central to many areas of interest.
Wish the stay was longer.
Friendly owners Warm welcome Very pleasant décor Comfortable beds Excellent breakfast Knowledge of the area Would definitely return
Friendliness of the owners Flexibility when we asked to check in extra early The room was beautiful Breakfast was wonderful Chatty owners who did not shy away from talking to their guests The owners could not do enough for us
Owners were very friendly and efficient Food was excellent Views lovely Quiet Plenty of parking
Mattress sloped at either side so nearly fell out of bed
This is a period property with lots of attention to detail, it is old fashioned but contemporary items would be out of place in a Victorian property. It is very clean and comfortable, with a lovely good quality breakfast and we had excellent service from our friendly hosts.
Steve and Jane the owners were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel was beautifully clean and comfortable . The breakfast was excellent as were the local information about where to eat etc . Thank you we had a great time
Good parking Very clean Nice and quiet Good food Nice people to deal with
Price was just a bit steep for one night
Great location. Warm welcome by Steve and Jane, who wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Room very clean, bed very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, with hot food freshly cooked. Good quality linen and toiletries. Lovely communal lounge with TV. Able to come and go as we pleased. Quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast served between 8.00 and 9.00 a.m., which for us was a bit too narrow a time band. We therefore often arrived just before 9.00 a.m. and then felt we had to rush. Shower temperature in bathroom difficult to control, although I'm sure this will be addressed when the planned internal works are carried out later in the year.
Steve and Jane are a wonderfully welcoming couple with a lovely hotel. Great choice for breakfast with a delicious 'Full English'. Beautifully decorated room with river view. Great ambiance: it felt like staying with old friends. Thoroughly recommended.
Having to leave!
Great welcome. Felt 'at home' immediately. The Family Room was very spacious and quiet. The beds were really comfortable. The kids loved the fact that they had 'grown up' beds and were made to feel very welcome by the owners.
The bathroom was a little dated
The owners are very friendly and made us feel welcome. It seems very flexible with the facilities and the breakfast was great. Lots of variety of food for children.
The rooms do need updating but the owners did say that they were going round the rooms and upgrading them. There wasn't much not to like.
