Orles Barn  

We stayed for two nights and right from the start, Matt and Emma made us feel very welcome and very special. There wasn't anything that the staff wouldn't do for us. The food was absolutely fabulous from the full English breakfast to the gourmet three course meal we had on the second night. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Being a light sleeper, I could hear the traffic on the nearby road but it wasn't particularly overwhelming. Also, my partner being 6'2'' meant feet hanging over the edge of the bed. However, these are very minor things in what was a fantastic two days there.

Brilliant accomodation. Food excellent. Excellent staff , very attentative but not imposing.

Drinks were expensive.

All the staff were genuinely interested in providing all we needed to ensure a most enjoyable relaxed weekend. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was individually and attractively designed, very spacious and very comfortable.

everything, the warm genuine welcome, the large comfortable ,elegant room, but most of all the exquisite ,outstanding food. Matt the chef is a genius and is happy to deal with dietary needs with consummate skill,but is unassuming and delightful.

no complaints whatsoever,very definitely a first!I normally have several "niggles" but it was perfect, we will be back time and time again.

Beautifully designed hotel with very comfortable and well equipped room. Excellent, well presented dinner and nice relaxing bar area. Very good breakfast, using good quality local produce. A very relaxing and enjoyable night away.

Our breakfast orders got a bit mixed up. No itemised bills, just 'restaurant' and 'bar'.

Orles Barn was clean, nice linen and towels, small but pretty room.

Didn't live up to the 5 star rating and cost £140 for room and breakfast. We had paid for a luxury room but the room although pretty was quite small.Curtain fittings broken so curtains didn't hang properly, my pet hate. Light in shower room not working. Had to pay for biscuits none available on hospitality tray, £3 for 6 & £5 for 12. Breakfast little choice of cereals and fruit needed replenishing as did orange juice but cooked food very good after fairly long wait. Think the owners have taken their eye off the ball while renovation another hotel which is a shame as the build up on tv gave the impression of out and out luxury, We would happily have paid £85 and thought the price was good as it was £140 seemed rather steep although my husband had booked the overnight stay as a treat.

From when we arrived till we left could not fault the hotel or the staff. It was a nice thought to receive an upgrade in our room, the upgrade not be faulted.we would like to mention the warm welcome we recieved from hazel, with tea and coffee while we waited for our room to be made up(we did arrive a touch early)all in all a really nice couple of days

Garden furniture requires maintenance Gravel drive tricky to negotiate with luggage Greater choice of beer Cookies each day would have been appreciated

The chef was more than happy to design meals around our requirements. :) The room was very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming.

I prefer instant coffee in my room - but that is personal choice. Nothing negative to say :)

From arrival to departure the staff were very friendly and helpful.The restaurant was first class both for dinner and breakfast.

Unfortunately two large kitchen extract fans located immediately outside our room windows were an unwelcome distraction when the kitchen was operational and the noise prevented the windows being opened to provide fresh air to a small room, this should have been reflected in the room price or at least mentioned in the room description prior to booking

Excellent food. Warm and friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Although located a stones throw from the A40 we found the whole experience relaxing in comfortable surroundings and in easy reach of the Wye Valley scenery and attractions. Would definately recommend to friends and will return ourselves.

Totally first class, from the moment we arrived we were treated well, it is a really lovely place to eat and stay

It was a beautiful location with outstanding accommodation , magnificent food in the restaurant and everything brought together by the most friendly and accommodating staff for whom nothing was any trouble.

the converted barn was 17 century and the rooms were furnished comfortably..The luxury rooms are excellent The staff were very friendly and helpful The food was of a very high standard produced by a very dedicated and talented chef, Dan. The hotel is recommended for young and mature couples

Beautiful place to stay, found on booking.com, will certainly go again and have recommended to friends already. Lovely, relaxed, comfortable and classy furnishing and decor. Very friendly staff and excellent food!!

Everything The staff are marvellous nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic Gordon Ramsey would have been jealous. I only wish I could have stayed for a week to experience every part of the menu.

We found Orles Barn Charming, the staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The food was superb and of an excellent standard. The Chef made time to speak about the dishes explaining where the food came from. The room were of an excellent standard the role top bath with a vie over the forest of dean was brilliant

Lovely friendly staff with pleasing decor in public rooms. Bedroooms very restful with luxury toiletries, and decor. Excellent food, with good wine list.

Only criticism is perhaps it would be good to have a little plate of nibbles while having pre dinner drinks.
