The owner and his staff were extremely friendly and welcoming; the decoration was good; the food was pretty ambitious and pretty good. We are well travelled and did not regard our particular room as good value for money. The windows in our room and in the dining room were extremely dirty and it certainly showed up on a sunny day. The shower was irratic and changed from cold to scalding - we did mention this to the owner who will put up warning signs. As it is currently it is dangerous particularly for children. It is situated on a very busy and noisy road.

We stayed at Orles Barn on Friday 23rd September. We were in the ground floor room with the attached sitting room. It was perfect for us as we have a 2 year old so we were able to put him on his blow up bed in the bedroom (bit of a squash) and still have a meal and wine together in the sitting room. We arrived at 5.30pm with nothing planned for our toddlers evening meal and the chef very kindly made him some pasta while we explored the lovely garden. I can't recommend this hotel enough, the staff are wonderful, the hotel is in a great location (only 15 mins walk from the centre) and the food was yummy.

This is a luxurious hotel that certainly reflects the 5 aa stars and 2 rosettes well. It is comfortable friendly and the food is lovely. For a great overnight or short break, this is a great option. We intend to go again! Nope! Although the beam across the room is a little hairy for a tall person!

We stayed here for our honeymoon for 3 nights.Very pretty decor, quiet location, intimate atmosphere.Friendly staff and delicious food. The dinner menu was not very varied, although gourmet, it didn't alter at all during our stay.

Excellent service and helpful staff. Good location for exploring area. Dined in on 2 nights - food excellent. Just that wardrobe! A bit awkward to use and not really enough space if staying more than a couple of nights.

Quiet location; friendly, helpful, but unobtrusive staff; excellent food and a good value wine list. The bedroom was well appointed, very comfortable and scrupulously clean, but if you are over 6 foot, watch out for the low beams! Overall, a perfect base for a few days exploring the Wye valley. Not quite enough choice/variety in the dinner menu to keep us interested over the whole of our stay.

The friendly attitude of the owners, the quality of the room and environment and the breakfast which was great. We were upgraded to a better room at no cost. Close proximity to the A40 road. Had we stayed in the Ground Floor Suite I suspect it would have been noisy especially if like us you slep with the window partly open. The main meal - the chef tried hard but didn't quite make it.

We really enjoyed our stay it was pure luxury. The Technica TV was very poor quality and added to that the change over to digital had not been completed.
