This historic Gothic mansion sits in tranquil parkland on the Cotswold Edge, beside the Severn Valley and close to Bristol. It offers fine dining, a leisure club, and spacious, traditional rooms.
Score from 237 reviews Very good
Set in the Cotswold market town of Tetbury, this charming town house dates back to 1535 and boasts a restaurant with views of the walled garden and fountain.

The Egypt Mill Hotel is situated in the unspoilt Cotswold town of Nailsworth. The 16th century riverside hotel features a restaurant and bar.

Although the bed was a lovely size, mattress was very soft, and my husband suffers with a bad back, 2 nights enough! Also duck feather pillows and duvet aren't great for asthma sufferers .
staff were friendly and breakfast good (tad much mustard)
found an ant on the bed
The restaurant and bar served excellent food and breakfast. Nice cosy feeling with friendly staff.
The hotel was holding christmas parties over the weekend that we stayed and although they didnt finish late were extremely noisy and directly outside of our room. Also, the room itself was above the kitchen so we there was obvious noise during these periods together with creaky floorboards from the people above.
Excellent staff and location, expensive but you pay for location and the town you are staying in
Old building, noisy, drafty, room small and tired
Lovely atmosphere , very festive . Staff were helpful and food was tasty.
room 12 - Upper shower didn't work at all . Over the bath shower wouldn't fit above the bath . Not ideal at all.
Beds Bath Decoration Breakfast
Food in the restaurant was inedible although the breakfast was good in the morning
Central location breakfasts and bed
Long trip up stairs & price of drinks in the bar
Very friendly staff and good breakfast
Parking - very limited. Noise from pub courtyard outside until closing time.
Atmosphere and food and location
Everything, a perfect weekend away in a cosy classic feel exclusive hotel, stunning food, in a fantastic town that has much to see, even most of the shops are open on Sunday, so many antique shops and amazing french market. Will be staying again!
Parking, but you cant have that in a town that was built before cars, parking is only a few mins away and not a problem.
The hotel was very well-placed in town. Charming building and the bar and restaurant looked really cosy and inviting. The rooms were lovely and even though there had been a bit of a mix-up with the bookings, the manager handled it smoothly and put us and our family first. Result - happy guests. The food was brilliant. Could not fault it. Lovely duck salad, a generous hake fillet on spicy lentils with rocket and parmesan, and lovely lemon sorbet to finish. My husband's rib-eye steak was superb. The hotel offered value for money and we would stay there again, happily recommending it to others.
Only thing to improve on now are a few details of shabbiness in otherwise very smart bedrooms.
Such a happy and helpful staff and the facilities and atmosphere of the hotel was excellent. We will stay again.
There was nothing to put here I am very pleased to say.
Room was lovely especially the bed, shower wonderful in fact allround comfort. Staff very helpful and the food really good morning and evening ,a lovely break enjoyed by us both.
No restaraunts, but then the food was good in hotel.
The location was good. Food, both dinner and breakfast, was lovely.
No on site parking The heating was not adequate, but an electric heater was brought to the room. The shower on Sunday am was cold, supposedly due to the large amount of guests. Hotel in need of updating.
Full English breakfast. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Central location for exploring Bath, Cirencester and Cheltenham and very convenient for Westonbirt.
Nobody on reception.Room 7 over the kitchen was noisy and very hot with food smells. Bar floor being cleaned with disinfectant next to us eating our breakfast. Insufficient hot water for a bath. Towels rather thin and small. Lack of parking. It's only when you read Booking.com smallprint you learn the free parking is on street away from the hotel.
Food was excellent. Staff were both cheerful and pleasant. The overall atmosphere was very nice.
The staff were excellent as was the food. The bed room and especially the bath room were very good
Car parking was a problem with the restrictions on adjacent parking. IE 2hrs only allowed. Free parking was a considerable distance away. Over night parking although nearer had to be paid for after 2 hrs.
Both evening meal and breakfast were excellent
Parking is an issue
Excellent staff and central location with wonderful bed and small but comfortable and well equipped room. Very good meals.
Parking some way away.
Staff and food were very good. Location good although Tetbury is quite a busy little place.
Problem with wine fridge and hot water did put a slight dampener on the overall visit experience.
Excellent Hotel, with friendly, attentive staff. great breakfast, did not need any lunch the following day.
Excellent high speed broadband wi-fi allowed streaming of live TV to my tablet without any buffering. Staff very friendly and attentive at all times.
Room and bathroom rather small and crowded. Smoking allowed in courtyard garden below room allowed cigarette smoke into bedroom through open window.
Staff were very helpful. Hotel clean & room comfortable. We ate at the Hotel & the service was good & the food very acceptable without being gourmet standard. Food & drink were not cheap but not expensive either.
The long stay car park was quite a walk from the Hotel which due to its central, high street location, did not have its own car park. However we did not need to use the car much so it was no great imposition.
Room 15 was quirky but there was plenty of space. There was one member of staff who an absolute darling and looked after us. The menu was limited but the choices were good as was the value.
The lounge smelt musty and was not very inviting. We didn't use it preferring the room.
