This hotel is excellent in all respects. It represents real value for money without any sacrifices. The staff were all excellent, the food could not be faulted and the chef deserves real praise. There was an excellent selection of real ales, all too often missing in modern hotels. The room was very clean and comfortable. All round excellence. The only minor problem is that the hotel is without a car park. This can be fully understood as it is an old coaching inn with an arch too narrow for modern cars! This is most definitely not a complaint!

On arrival the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. The room was lovely, especially the four poster bed. We had a very nice weekend and would stay again.

Very cosy hotel on a bleak winter's day, especially with all of the white Christmas lights which were still in place. The food was very good - and having dessert wines available by the glass was quite unusual and welcome. We had the 4 poster room at the front of the hotel which was spacious and comfortable. Being able to take our dog to the hotel and into the bar was helpful. The exterior does not look very promising - it really is much better inside - and parking was a little inconvenient, but that is to be expected in a busy historic town.

Warm welcome, comfortable room, nice atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was a little disappointing - we;; presented, but the main course at dinner was only warm.

Comfortable and clean A bit concerned that the desk was unmanned which may allow access to the room key box just behind the counter especially at busy times in the bar/restaurant which did not allow immediate attention to the arriving visitor(or villain?)

Fresh salmon with horse radish for £6 with excellent salad for an evening snack. Fresh kippers for breakfast. Exceptionally freindly helpful staff. Such a special High Street location. Exceptional Midnight Mass at the Virgin Mary Parish Church. Perfect to stay near family for Christmas. Uneven floor a little disconcerting in corridors (a minor point!)

The staff were excellent very attentive and friendly. The hotel was warm and friendly and comfortable. We will certainly consider coming back to your hotel again. The only comment would be it was a bit noisey on Christmas Eve, but that was to be expected.

We thought that one of the nicest aspects of the Hotel was the friendliness of the staff- open and welcoming without being obsequious - everyone acknowledged us. The room was quirky because it's a listed building but beautifully decorated and furnished. Good value for money with a full breakfast included in the price. Car parking which we had anticipated might be a problem in the event was easy with plenty of overnight parking available on the road or in a car park very close by. All in all an excellent experience. We have found a little jewel and we will be back! For our taste the bed was a tad hard but that's a question of taste.

A very friendly hotel with care being taken to the appearance of rooms. We had our evening meal at The Ormond, this was delicious. Would go back to The Ormond if visiting Tetbury again. Would have liked a private carpark

We had a lovely stay at the Ormond. It was central to the town centre with an array of lovely interesting shops. The bars and restaurants in the town were fabulous but we decided to have dinner at The Ormond restaurant. It was top class food.. really delicious. I have already recommended the hotel to friends and would definitely go back again in the very near future. Great value for money too. Thank you very much Nothing.... but the bar was very crowded in the evening and seating scarce... but this showed how popular the venue was with young people and older!!

Friendly and effecient staff. Location. Good well cooked breakfasts. No drawers for clothing. Had to put them on chair or floor. The main complaint we had was the amount of noise coming from the court yard late as drinkers came outside particularly smokers which in addition to the noise resulted in smoke drifting into the room. We were informed that this area was closed after 11pm but infact it went on well past midnight . a shame really as otherwise we were well pleased.

The four poster room was lovely - a shame about the damp in the bathroom though. The lack of car parking facilities makes this a difficult place to stay. The reception is not always manned so as we arrived we had to go and find someone to check us in. The restaurant menu reads nicely but was rather fussy and pricey - especially as we were two weary travellers who wanted something quick and simple. We went instead for dinner at the Close Hotel right across the road which was rather lovely.

We had a pleasant stay at the Ormond the staff were very pleasant and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Good location. Unfortunately the standard of the room did not match this. Bathroom facilities very poor needs updating, headboards very old, hairdryer had loose connection, poor signal on tv.

Excellent combination of a lively, up-markrt, town centre bar and restaurant with comfortable qnd quiet guest accomodation. The staff were first-class, friendly and efficient and the food was top-notch. Overall, highly recommended. If there was one drawback it was the lack of guest parking but the car park a couple of hundred yards away was in a good location and being able to pre-pay for the following morning meant a leisurly breakfast in the morning. Well dong THe Ormond!

“The staff was courteous and very attentive, especially the front desk staff, Emma and Maria who helped me with a near disaster situation--the loss of my luggage containing passports, etc. They also arranged a stay at another hotel for me as they had no vacancies when I decided to extend my stay in Tetbury. They deserve very high marks for their service.” James, Washington, Dc |
