The bed was very comfortable indeed. Breakfast was very nice too, and the staff were very pleasant.
We didn't like the choice of hand/shower lotions you supply. We thought that someone had been smoking in the bathroom, until another person from our party said the same thing.
Spacious car park. The Orsett hall where the event took place, which was the purpose of our stay), was nice, located separately from the main building. The staff were friendly. The bedrooms were clean apart from some unremovable stains here and there. It was cosy and warm. The food at the restaurant is not amazing but nicely presented and is like a lovely pub food.
No wifi or cellular signal for 3G phones in the bedroom. Wifi will connect for a couple of minutes and disappear. In the dining room it was ok most of the time. Deco of the dining room looked quite dated and let the hotel down considering the bedrooms looked simplistic-sophisticated. My parents said that the wall was paper thin and they had to listen to the next door's argument for a long time in at night. For the superior double room I stayed for a night and breakfast, £120-30 might have been more 'value for money' than £175. The ordinary double room which cost my parents £155 was not much different from my room and was on the same floor.
The room and general staff were excellent and were a pleasure. This made the stay and the wedding perfect.
We were disappointed with the reception staff and the way they allocated/administered the rooms. A request to gain access to the room early as part of the wedding party, was met with an instant request for £20.00 in advance, this was most disappointing and was quickly refused.
Great value for money. Lovely hotel
Everything to like about this hotel :) friendly staff, comfortable rooms/beds beautiful grounds. Had the perfect stay.
adjoining door to room I could hear room 23 tv all night not the fault of the hotel just an ignorant guest
Orsett Hall is used primarily for Wedding/birthdays/parties, Nice location
Orsett Hall is used primarily for Wedding/birthdays/parties, expect noise! Breakfast service was slow, staff disinterested?
Location is very good and easy to get to. Hotel and grounds are perfect. We were upgraded to a suite a large beautiful room with lovely views. Garden restaurant is very pretty the food was very good and the service was faultless.
I couldn't get connected to WiFi with my i-pad but my Husband had no trouble with his Tablet but this wasn't a major issue this certainly wouldn't stop me staying at this superb Hotel.
The only thing I was particularly dissappointed with was that the double bed was two single beds pushed together. This didn't make for a great nights sleep.
Receptionist was excellent. Gave us a room ahead of schedule which helped prepare for a wedding and on sheckout did not charge and apologised for a delayed sandwich lunch which I didn't even mention. Really great service and genuine attitude of customer service.
Whilst you have functions on , there is very little for hotel guests. I was at wedding on Friday, then decided to stay for one more day. There is not enough there to hold anyones attention. So I spent day out driving ,doing things..but would have relished proper leisure facilities, especially a pool and steam room and jacuzzi.
just a lovely place to stay
Absolutely loved the way the hotel is set back in the middle of grounds. The rooms are superb, clean, good quality shower gel.tea/facility. Worth an overnight stopover.
Price is a bit high but then your paying for quality.
The lodge accomodation and the grounds.
In the hall where our function was the laddies toilets were down stairs. In high heels and a long dress this is very inconvenient. Im also recovery from a old knee operation this just added extra discomfort to the evening. Also when the dark night drew in and we sat outside for some air there was no outside lighting and there was a step that was not seen and was very dark and I witnessed a few nearly accidents.
I booked for 2 nights stay for my granddaughter 18th on booking it say's a spa facility and is the reason that I booked the second night then I find out that they do not have A pool. the spa is only for treatment. the Gym was closed due to flooding I cancelled the second night but I was charged £75.00 cancellation fee.
wi-fi signal in room was poor curtains let in too much light door to bathroom wouldn't fully close (pulling harder on door made handle come off!) yoghurt served at breakfast was two days past 'use-by' date door to room let in too much light from hallway no knife on breakfast tray to butter toast too much noise from wedding party
Room was nicely decorated. I personally love a bath so was so pleased with the spacious bathroom equipped with both a bath & shower. Room very clean. Very peaceful nights sleep considering the amount of parties beign held that night.
Staff were very good accommodation was good also
We had a superb upgrade to a lovely suite
It was above a function room with music past 1am
Rooms lovely and good size. Great grounds.
I have been here a number of times and do like it. I did not like having to pay an extra fee to use my credit card - first time ever for accommodation anywhere and we stay in 10's of hotels per year - sorry guys but that's just mean spirited and leaves a bad taste ! Also please turn off the talking elevator - it's incredibly irritating - if you don't know how one works you shouldn't be in it!
The room itself was very nice and larger than expected, the food standard was high and staff were pleasant - if rather ineffectual at dealing with my noise complaints.
I and other friends staying at the hotel were kept awake by a very loud, bass-heavy disco that carried on till 2am, at one point loud enough to cause the walls of my room to shake. This was the night before my wedding (not held at Orsett Hall) so I was particularly underwhelmed by the sleep disruption. I think the hotel should do the decent thing and make potential guests aware (I for one am not local) that they essentially run club nights and that these will be audible from the rooms. Staff were apologetic when I complained at 1am but were not able to offer a solution.
Great hotel in lovely surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We had stains on our carpet and a scuffed skirting board (room 25 09May14).
Stayed after a wedding. Food was excellent and room was luxurious. Our room rate was reduced as part of the wedding party. The grounds were lovely and were beautifully lit at night. The bathroom was also luxurious.
Location and appearance very good. Room good size and comfortable. Although there were a lot of different things going on through the evening there was little noise or disturbance and the hotel had a tranquil atmosphere.
Towels small and rough. Cups could be larger.
The room was beautifully decorated and to a high standard.
We booked a double room but instead of having a double bed we found it was two single beds pushed together. This meant that there was a gap between the two that made it uncomfortable to sleep in.
