The bed & linen, it was a good temperature in the room, friendly approachable staff. The shower could do with updating! Too much pepper on my breakfast! |

The hotel was situated within a 15 min walk into town or £4 for a taxi. Ideal as it meant you did'nt get any excess noise. The room was fine for what we required but could do with updating. If we do go back to Torquay we would stay here again. |

The hotel is in a fairly quiet location with great views. The rooms were a good size, clean and nicely furnished. Staff were friendly and helpful. |

Good breakfasts. Enjoyed the Brasserie. Staff were all very obliging and polite. Pleasant views from the dining room We would have preferred more comfortable chairs in the bedroom. Perhaps the cleaning of the bedroom could have been delayed by half an hour or so to give us time to compose ourselves after breakfast. |

I thought the location was superb - overlooking Meadfoot beach and yet it was a short walk to Torquay. The food was great and the staff were very helpful. |

The room was quite so we had a good nights sleep even though we were at the back. The breakfast was good also The service at breakfast was good as was the food. Service in hotel bar inadequate had to wait quite a while before someone came to serve you a drink on 2 occasions we had to go and find someone. . On leaving we paid bill there was no thank you, or hope you enjoyed your stay i would have expected this from a 4 star hotel |

The staff were very friendly and we always had a good service from waiting staff. Rooms were a good size and clean. I was not impressed with the fire alarm going off at 1.30 in the morning, there were no fire engines, no role call, no organised evacuation of the hotel, some guests stayed on the balconys. They had no idea why the fire alarm went off and didnt check the hotel for any fire???? Also the end bill was eratic from the bar and evening meal???? |

Location. Unexplained fire alarm in middle of night with no evidence of fire services called. Rather cramped car parking and lack of disabled spaces. |

Good location overlooking the sea. Close enough to all activities in the area, but just far enough away to avoid the crowds. Common areas of the hotel were good. Our bedroom however, was quite old and in need of refurbishment. There was no aircon / fan. Bathroom was very old and far below 4 Star standard. |

Superb position overlooking meadfoot beach made you feel a long way from the centre of Torquay. Lacked air conditioning in room. Access to room in which we were allocated a problem with luggage ond no lift (to annex) |

The restaurant was excellent, the menu covered all our expectations, we complemented the chef on a few occasions and the waiting staff were attentive, courteous and competent, especially the assistant manager, Terry. We also enjoyed the Brasserie when we fancied a change We stayed in Cather, the room could have been improved with more wardrobe space and more space for toiletries in the bathroom. Maybe next time we'll stay in a sea view room. |

The hotel's exterior is beautiful and in a wonderful position with magnificent sea views. The room was awful. We booked the Brett, which has no sea-view, but for £120 a night, I expected it at least to be pleasant and modern. Instead, it was cramped and looked like it hadn't been redecorated since the 1980s. The bathroom in particular was cramped, dated and would have shamed a Travelodge. There wasn't even a separate shower unit - just a shower attachment on the grubby 1980s bath-taps. When I complained to the receptionist the next day, she simply looked at me - not a word of apology or explanation. Not good enough for £120 a night. |

an excellent meal on the terraces. The peace and quiet the friendliness of the staff. a beautiful meal ruined not by the waiting staff who were excellent but by having to wait over a hour for the meal because ther was a party going on. also having to wait 45mins for 2 poached eggs once again nothing to do with the excellent waiting staff. |

This hotel is the best I have stayed in so far in Torquay (having already stayed at the other big named hotels). This is much more intimate and personal with an elegant feel to it. The outdoor pool closing at 5pm-But please note: We spoke to the management about this as many people were commenting on it, and they have to under legislation from the local council committee. Either that or fill the pool in, so would much rather have it open than gone!!!! |
