Cheap rooms close to the centre
Skirting boards need painting on the stairs
location was good for the amenities
really dated, dark room.
Location was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Guest House is tired and needs upgrading but you do get what you pay for.
All worked out well, as the small problems I had were quickly resolved by a well mannered House manager
No hairdryer. Hot shower would have been good.
The electric fire as it was cold.
Took 10 mins to let us in. Rudeness on entering. No kettle in room? No milks till later, no remote control for TV, no hair dryer, no teaspoon to stir tea. Paid £10 for breakfast and we both felt ill so needed to leave early and wouldn't refund £10. Wouldn't go again and will tell my friends and family not to bother. Asked for the owners name and phone number. No point as he's probably in another country.
Location was ok only 10 mins from centre
Beds not made, shower curtain missing, room not serviced (had to ask for tea, coffee etc) kettle lead to short to be used anywhere convenient.
Value for money, spacious room, quiet central location
Poor cleaning standards
Staff friendly. Very helpful. Parking on site. Quiet location.
Rooms a bit dated & tired.
Staff were friendly Room was very clean and quiet Breakfast was good Very short walk to town
Free wifi and good location
The bed was awful. My partner and I got absolutely no rest. Also the hotel seemed to be doing some construction work at 11.30 at night. It was loud and the rooms were so stuffy which meant we had to leave the windows open and street noise came in. When checking in, the woman struggled to divide our payment with cash and card.
Very quiet good night sleep
Cleanliness not good shower didnt work very well
Everything in room worked.
Very poorly decorated. Hotel is close to Heathrow flight path but window is not double glazed so a bit noise
It is close to town centre and the bed was comfy.
My room had one hand towel, no bath towel. One part of the wall had a piece of anaglipta paper nailed to it obviously to cover something. My friends 'family' room had no wardrobe, a few drawers of which a couple had handles missing. My room had a three quarter full toilet roll, I requested another but never got one, luckily the other lasted, just. The staff only nattered for our payment although we'd been told we didn't need to pay until we'd stayed. I don't recall any other conversation other than a brief 'morning'.
The staff was extremely friendly. He checked us in quickly (he just handed us the key!). The room was very nice size with 3 beds and a bathroom, perfect for a night stay. In the morning we were able to leave our car in the parking lot and walk to Windsor Castle, about a 10 minute walk. That saved us plenty in parking. The main shopping and eating establishments are only a few minutes walk away. A great location.
The beds are really soft, which doesn't suite us, but don't let this stop you from staying.
Only a 15 minute walk from the town which had a few restaurants. Check in was nice and simple
We booked two rooms and they were probably the furthest away from each other. Out of the 5 of us on 2 had a good night and that was the two men the others couldn't sleep due to the uncomfortable beds and the noise from other guests returning at the early hours of the morning
They should refurbish anything
The staff tried their best to be helpful.
The room was not cleaned properly and the shower did not work. The handbasin was so tiny and ill fitted it was almost impossible to use for washing or shaving. The breakfast was poor value and as little choice as possible was provided.
The staff were friendly
the front enterance was shabby and uninviting The bedroom smelled like an old peoples home The bathroom smelled of drains There was someone else's hair on the bathroom floor The room we had was at the top of the house and was so hot I thought I would suffocate
I like the breakfast

not a place for breakfast

The Oscar lodge is cheap, half the price of the surrounding hotels. The staff were friendly the room was clean, alright the facilities weren't what you would expect from a travel lodge, but I've stayed in travel lodges, campaniles and premier inns that have given me a worse nights sleep than the Oscar lodge.
