Quiet location; friendly, helpful owner; off-street parking; continental breakfast with large cereal selection.
In need of modernisation;
Friendly staff, good continental breakfast
building is being upgraded.
Very friendly owner, beautiful location. Loved Mr. Breck, the dog! Breakfast offered was very good. Room was comfortable and suitable for our family of 4. Great as a point to explore from.
The building is old and needs updating.
The poor selection of food for breakfast. The lack of attention from staff especially during the breakfast.
Friendliness of host. Breakfast. Cleanliness of common areas.
Dusty and dated bedroom with odd layout in bathroom.
gute Lage im Nationalpark Cairngorms good location in the Cairngorms national park
schlechter Geruch im Haus, altes Haus, sehr renovierungsbedürftig, schmutzige Räumlichkeiten, schlechtes Frühstücksangebot (Butter- und Marmeladegläser mit Resten von Vorgänger-Gästen) bad smell in the house, old house, renovation necessary, dirty rooms, bad breakfast (butter and jam jars with crumbs of previous guests)
Tony Brown and Brac.
Lack of dining facilities in the vicinity. Loch Insh hotel not very accommodating to clients from Ossian even if one is willing to pay
Tony, the proprietary, very solicitous. Great breakfast. Nice old house.
We are used to have blinds in the windows, but I guess it is another typical Spanish practice not very extended.
Tony himself is a legend.... We were only using the hotel as a base - would be ideal for walkers
Location and the lovely dog.
Place was under renovation and in a state of disrepair. No dinner available. Breakfast was basic continental from Tesco's.
The building could be fab
No food no bar bed far to soft and well used Cobwebs in breakfast area Hole in wall in room Generally run down Shame as it could have huge potential
It was very hard to find. As you drove up to the house it looked like it was unloved. I thought they where carrying out building work and the man who came out to speak to us was looked like he had been working on the building. We said we thought it was a inn/hotel not a guest house. We agreed that we would find somewhere else and he said they wouldn't take the room costs, but they took the full charge.
Nothing. .it was the worst b&b I have ever stayed in..old and smelly rooms..it was like all the garage shop furniture put across..an eyewash on the name of a breakfast..with tesco everyday value products set..rotten fruits..disgusting place..would never recommend anyone
Easy to find. bed comfortable Proprietor friendly but his heart wasn't in it.
Cold, heating did not work No towels (not discovered until I was near naked and had to redress to find proprietor) Continental breakfast only
Quiet surroundings and nice room
No lunch, no diner no drinks, although outside signs and his internetpage tell otherwise. Very poor european breakfast no cheese no boiled eggs no ham just cereal and jelly. Complaining about the food to the owner didn't help.
Its a lovely building in a beautiful location. The owner is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental style but there was plenty to eat. its not far from the watersports centre on Loch Insh where you can get a good meal and a drink.
The room I stayed was a little bit tired and need of redecorating/upgrading. The same could be said of the ensuite facilities. The building needs upgrading in general and I understand that this is a work in progress.
The suite room which is not suitable at all for a family of 3 children as it is really a very small room
We liked the warm friendly welcome when we arrived.
The hotel is getting refurbished at the moment, so there was no food being served, and the bar was closed, other than that couldnt fault it.
staff and rooms were excellent, breakfast although not a cooked breakfast there was plenty to eat
Chose the Ossain as I thought there was a restaurant and bar but the owner was doing the place up to sell, so no bar or evening meals
Breakfast : only nescafé Carpet Bath
Nice friendly hotel - nothing was a problem
It was an old historic building. The bed linens were clean and the bed was comfy. Tony, the owner, was very friendly.
The carpets and rugs were dirty and quite rumpled and outdated.
Tony was very friendly and welcoming, he made us feel comfortable and provided advice on places to eat and things to do on our route home. The breakfast was lovely, all was fresh and just what you need.
