1st room provided smelled strongly of urine, alternative room offered was cold. Due to a function we were asked to walk round the outside of the hotel in rain to access our room via a fire exit. Staff were un-trained and in-competent. Family stayed at the lodge accomodation, there was un-sufficient lighting to and from the lodge during hours of darkness, main lighting inside the lodge did not function causing an elderly relative to fall and injure themselves. Staff did not have any understanding how to report and deal with an injury, did not offer any first aid treatment and stated they did not know where the accident book was held to record the injury. Breakfast was over priced at an additional £30 per room (£15 per head!!) This hotel is overpriced and over-rated and does not deserve its 4* rating. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

The grounds were lovely Little things missing and lack of attention to detail. No Bath Mat No remote control No tissues Windows broken so couldn't lock them which was a concern for a ground floor room Double room allocated despite Twin Room request (this was changed following request)
