We enjoyed the look & feel of the whole place, the service, the food, the information on the Castle & the many photo's I have taken to show off to my Family & Friends
Beautiful surroundings. Fluffy dressing gowns and towels. Staff very friendly and helpful
No information book in room, Pressure of shower wasn't good
The overall castle was beautiful , inside and out . The gardens and decor in the main building was beautiful . The staff were very polite and helpful . I was offered refreshments while my room was being made up . Breakfast was delicious, range of options
The size of my double room was small considering I had to put an extra fold out bed for my son . I assumed that would be taken into consideration when offered the room .There was no cold water running from taps during the night, the shower was slightly leaking when using it . The window was very hard to open in my room . My room was not ready when I arrived just after 3 and had to wait 45 minutes before I could go to the room .
Friendly, helpful staff Extremely comfortable beds Wonderful food Excellent service Cannot fault anything
No complaints whatsoever
Ambiance and sense of genuine history. Plenty convenient parking.
WiFi coverage patchy. Large window was jammed open; Fortunately weather was warm.
Excellent helpful staff, beautify peaceful surroundings, lovely breakfast plenty of options, comfy and clean! Cragside a must visit.
On bridal way routes however no local amenities, need to drive out to go anywhere. Well situated if wanting central between keilder and coastal attractions however
Good location, very helpful staff. Breakfast and evening meal very good.
Our room was slightly tired, otherwise OK
Beautiful building Lovely breakfast Can't write 200 characters because there weren't enough good points. The staff were polite & friendly but service was poor as they all seemed to be doing two or three jobs at one time.
Booked a suite but got a large room with a couple of chairs & an en-suite. I've stayed in suites before & expected a separate lounge area. Also the room is shown on the website as having a 4 poster bed but it had a sleigh bed instead, although very comfortable. The bar service was shambolic, took 25 minutes to get a coffe and a beer. Not because it was busy, there were only 2 other customers!!
Location was amazing lovely food a very nice room, very friendly staff,
Wi-fi wasn't very good, couldn't pick signal up in our room
Had booked a 4 poster room but did not get one.
Character Peaceful Location Authenticity
The area is beautiful and the hotel excellent, l found both the gardens and the interior of the hotel the best I have been in. The food was first class and the staff were lovely, I will definitely come back.
My own negative was that we didn't see many staff to ask advice on the local area.
poor water pressure in the morning
Location and building impressive. Staff pleasant and helpful
My room was not clean there were remnants of the previous day's wedding on the carpet. The food was consistantly poor and overpriced. There were not enough staff but the few did their best in trying circumstances.
the location was great and the property was amazing because of its history
the restaurant staff could benefit from a bit more training by management because some of the incidents were comical but not their fault. The bathrooms need modernising but still be in keeping with the style of the property. separate cold and hot taps went out in the 70's - please give us proper mixer taps and ones that don't drip constantly.
Great location Beautiful building Very good value for money Great food at the restaurant Helpful staff
Our shower didn't work, so we had to use a shower in a different room No wifi access in our room
The castle, the room, the Garden...it is a good distance to Newcastle Airport
The room was nicely decorated, fresh and clean , also spacious. The hotel was well decorated, again clean and up to date but in keeping with the age of the building. Beautiful garden and lovely setting. Very good choice of breakfast, including full English.
No hot water due to problem with the boiler. The manager was very apologetic and had tried to get it rectified. The downstairs hotel toilets could do with a refurbishment.
They got my date wrong even though I had confirmation from them of the correct date. Poor administration meant I had to stay elsewhere. I haven't even received my refund for their mistake. Avoid.
Character of hotel - many former stately homes are a bit shabby and tasteless, but this was excellent. Very well presented throughout. Good breakfast, friendly staff - very kindly made us up some sandwiches to our order after the kitchen had closed.
Leaky tap in an otherwise very impressive bathroom.
Nice room, quiet and peaceful location and pleasant surroundings in the hotel itself
Breakfast, oh dear what a disaster
We were made to feel very lwelcome, the room was spotless and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpfull couldnt do enough for us. The food was very good especially the breakfast excellent. Will definately go again. A big thankyou to the young man, who is the new general assistant, he helped to make our weekend special, lovely young man. Will recommend to family and friends.
No wifi in bedroom.
Old fashioned charm with lots of quirky details Staying in a real castle!! Comfortable bed Helpful and friendly staff Clean and welcoming Delicious breakfast, and dinner fabulous - excellent chef
Nice room, friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and very peaceful. Lovely if you want some peace and quiet or a romantic break.
Very little to do in the surrounding area so prepare to stay in the hotel to eat or drive further afield. The bathroom was functional and basic but did not match the opulence of the bedroom. A nice stay however.
Castle and grounds at front are nice. Smart interior and room. Breakfast.
View from our room at the back of the castle onto the function marquee. Expensive restaurant menu . Lack of facilities in the area and castle. Would have liked a bar meal area as bistro not evident. Bar area too small and not really inviting at night. No information in room or hotel about local area.
