Otterburn Tower HotelA696, Otterburn, NE19 1NS Otterburn (Show map) Good, Score from 43 reviews“Very good service - helpful friendly staff”
Tony,
Coventry
The Otterburn Tower country house hotel and restaurant, located in the heart of Wild Redesdale, is truly unique. The Otterburn Tower is on its own 32 acre estate, with terraced lawns and surrounded by woodland. The grounds stretch down to the village of Otterburn with all the facilities close by. The hotel is beautifully restored, with the original features of oak paneling, leaded panes and stained glass, very important features of the hotel. The 18 rooms have private bathrooms, and the old library is now a master suite with a four poster bed and every comfort. Perfect for a relaxing break, to explore the coast, castles and valleys of Northumberland, to be active or for a family vacation. Hotel Rooms: 18

We have stayed at Otterburn Tower Hotel on several occasions over the years and have always been made very welcome. It is a traditional Country House Hotel, squeaky floorboards, large bedrooms and open fires. Food is good! The Hotel is starting to look quite tired and is in need of restoration. Not keen on dogs being allowed in the lounge!

Very relaxing and quiet. Some cleaning issues. The box that held coffee etc was dirty and the doiley had stains on from previous occupants. The info file was dirty, someone had split drinking chocolate over it. I could not get wifi in the room and they never offered me an explanation or booster.

Only the location The hotel is very tied, dirty and the management is clearly poor. I do not recommend anyone stay here, it needs a major makeover to take advantage of the building and location.

A great characterful building and lovely gardens with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Decor could do with a bit TLC. Central heating in room very noisy (even when not on) and there was no electricity where kettle needed to be plugged in for tea/coffee facilities, hence kettle had to be boiled on window sill.

The location was excellent for our purpose, the staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. The rooms we had were spacious and very clean. The public rooms were clean spacious and airy. Food in the Stable Bar good Found the prices in the restaurant and bar expensive.

The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We mentioned in the bar that we were on honeymoon and by the time we reached our table for dinner it had been decorated with Just Married confetti, crystals and candles.

Lovely setting, very handy stop over on the way up north. Nothing special, but happy with the deal we got. Would have been disappointed had we paid the full price. Pleasant helpful staff. The hotel let itself down on small points that would be easy to address. The carpet in the bedroom hadn't been cleaned properly, found fluff, hair grip water bottle top, and other plastic items hard to identify. The hotel is tired and needs some loving caring attention, to bring it up to former glory. Despite this we would stay again, but not for the original tariff.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much, the service, the food, hotel and everything about it. Some might find the decoration a little dated but I found the four poster room and the oaked paneling in the dinning room a delight to sleep in and eat in. I would certainly stay again.

The friendliness of the staff, the character and charm of the hotel, the food and the location. Located in a small village, not far from the Scottish border, in a very quiet location. I'm not sure I would have had a positive outlook regarding my stay if there was a wedding taking place at the time. Best to ask before you book.

Beautiful and traditional venue, ideally suited to the wedding that we attended. Lovely gardens and marquis. Friendly and attentive staff. The shower broke in the room, leaving me unable to shower before the wedding. The tv could only get bbc1, which whilst not an issue for us was commented on by other guests. Most importantly, I didn't get any black pudding with my breakfast!!

Nice atmosphere, you have a choice of formal dinning or bar food in the separate public bar / restaurants. We liked our room, which was comfortable, and comprised of a small separate lounge area. Very good breakfast. Bathroom warm and clean, however, a little tired.

We had the Library suite which was a large room with a 4 poster bed, lovely room. We ate a la carte in the Oak room and meal was fantastic and waiter was excellent.Hotel is set in it's own very well kept grounds, lovely spot Receptionist really let the hotel down, miserable and when asked question, almost grunted and pointed the way to restaurant or bar. Would not want a room at the back of the hotel if there was a function on in the marquee, remember this is an old castle stlye building no double glazing !!!
