We stayed here as part of our anniversary. When the manager (Ian Waite) learnt of this, he sent a lovely gift to our hotel room, Thank you Ian, a lovely personal touch. All the staff here are 1st class. A special mention to the charming Christophe in the Restaurant :) Great Gym area with pool, sauna and steam room. Lovely buffet style breakfast, everything one could desire. Another pleasant stay here, our 2nd in 4 weeks. My wife and I simply love this hotel and cannot fault it.

Another Devere Hotel that delivers what it promises. We loved this hotel, from start to finish. Firstly the staff were all pleasant, friendly and happy to assist. The hotel has a real crazy layout which I did get lost a few times, but nevertheless did not spoil my enjoyment and just adds to the character of the bulding. The room was a fair size, clean and we loved the toweling robes. Some may say the rooms need a makeover, but I thought it was just fine and dandy and met our expectations in terms of clenliness, comfort and a great shower. Free wifi is a great bonus too. Breakfast was a pleasant experience, you help yourself to whatever you like from the hot and cold buffets with just about everything you could want for a hearty start to the day. We booked the hotel through booking.com and received a favourable discounted room rate which included breakfast. The onsite leisure centre meets all requirements and the staff were pleasant. Their was a problem with the sauna on the day of my visit, however the charming deputy manager (James McDevitt) resolved the situation to my complete satisfaction in a very professional manner.

The hotel building and grounds are superb and the decor and furnishings are luxurious. The room size was adequate and the room was well equipped. The sauna, steam room and pool facilities are excellent and there's also a well equipped gym. The location is ideal being close to the m1 and only 7 miles or so from Leeds and roughly the same to the Xscape outlet centre. Staff were a bit anonymous and I spent too much time at breakfast searching for coffee (the cups were tiny) which was plain annoying - an investment in individual coffee pots would be worthwhile. The orange juice was also low quality - unnecessary skimping in my view for a top end hotel.

All facilities were good, clean and comfortable. The hotel has retained many interesting original features which adds to the over all first impressions of the hall. Breakfast was very good. The restaurant meals were a little too expensive. Otherwise, there was nothing we did not like abolut this hotel

The location . It is very quiet even though hotel busy. Choice of things to do in and around the hotel. It retains some of the old charm. Cost of A La carte rather expensive in Hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean although the furniture was generally a little tired. The bar, dining room and lounge areas were all comfortable. The hotel was fully booked the weekend we stayed so the spa/swimming pool was extremely crowded and not at all relaxing. The food at the colf club was inedible and had to be returned - we were offered a bottle of wine at dinner as compensation but it was not a good start to our weekend. We stayed on an inclusive db&b break and the set dinner menu included was limited with very small portions, drinks and extras were expensive eg £4.50 for a pot of tea after dinner!

Very relaxed atmosphere, with some very nice touches in the room. We were left to wander in the dark looking for the restaurant in the golf club. A few more lights and signs would have been good, or an escort from the hotel would have been preferable.

This is a good place geographically to meet our friends. The golf course is not bad 'though could be improved at this time of year. The deal we got at £80 b and b was better than the Hotel's price. The rooms are O.K. and the breakfast excellent. The cost of eating is ,in our opinion too high and even if we stayed for dinner (which we didn't ) and paid the high prices we would also have been paying much too much for drinks. Car parking outside the Hotel is very restricted.

Rooms need a good clean round Thick dust on the chair sides and a dirty bed throw..Bathrooms need a good clean round and updating. Once again the wait between starter and main course was very long indeed. Even though the rstauarnt was not very busy.

Very impressive building, lots of quiet seating, very relaxed atmosphere. Choice of restaurant, one less formal, with practical food available as well as finer dining. Breakfast was well done, lots of variety and a few cooked-to-order specials as well. Staff were friendly, always offering a greeting, very attentive in the restaurant. I didn't use the sports facilities but they looked quite good. I'm not a golfer but it would have been nice to explore the countryside had the weather been better.. Room was very quiet, very little noise or disturbance. Tv in the room was very dated, reasonable choice of channels but I had to stand in front of the set to get the remote to work. First night one restaurant was closed, the other only booking after 9pm so I opted for room service, not the sort of quality one might expect of a four star hotel....

Staff very polite and accomodating. Champagne bar and Calvery grill lovely ambience! Spa facilities at a weekend become very overcrowded. Breakfast on a Sunday served only 10am...early compared to other hotels of the same standard.

Good location , very relaxing, breakfast excellent. Very cold in lounge area main door open, had to move to another room to be comfortable. Let down in a small way by people not always doing whet they are paid to do, eg .No tea or coffee in room only discovered at 6.30am. Evening meal braised steak had to be returned.
