The spa was very impressive and the selection of treatments extensive. The changing roons were very clean and the facilities very good. We felt the Claret jug service was a little poor and was not a very good representation of the food quality. For example we asked for info on one of the dishes on the menu and 2 of the waiting staff had no idea what the dish was. We had to remind staff on more than one occasion for drinks orders. |

Lovely setting, grounds and entrace hall. Pool and Spar clean and tidy - but very busy. Service was terrible as was the food (very expensive).I had requested no feathers in the pillows when booking and had feather pillows and duvet. When I called reception I was told they had not other alternative and that the pillows were non-allergic. My husband had terrible allergy response to the pillows, breathing difficulties itchy/streaming eyes. He slept on the floor with a towel! |

Spa was perfect after a busy day. The bar areas where in keeping with the style of hotel...Food was good. Breakfast service was slow...Lots of staff but seemd to take ages to get the basics like a pot of tea or coffee...I ust state that the meet and greet guy was great... |

Check out was a debacle....no ability to speed check oot and staff were terse and harrassed as there was a huge jam in the lobby. I also thought a deluxe room was going to have a King Sized bed and more luxury for the price I paid. I was disappointed.My newspaper order was neglected too and i had to expressly demand they be brought as it is part of my job |

Food and service excellent The bed was faulty in our room and we had to be moved (not a problem) but the second room we were given smelled faintly like cigarette smoke which did not go away even when we left the window open. |

yes there were some nice features and touches disapointed in the restaurant. Didnt feel like we were looked after, too long inbtween meals etc.Thought that the afternoon tea and sanwiches were far to over priced for what you got. Overall extremly disapointed in the quality of food and the choice. i was disapionted that there was nowhere to sit in the spa pool area. You couldnt read a book or paper. |

The reception and bar areas were very nice and what you would expect from n hotel that claims to be 5 star. The rest of the hotel is at best a 3/4 star. It calls itself 'Yorkshire's only 5 Star Hotel' I would disagree that the hotel is 5 Star. The rooms were on par with a travel lodge, the staff weren't trained to the levels you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The restaurant was at best, fair with inexperienced staff and mediocre food. |

I thought that the Claret Jug was a lopvely venue we only stayed the one night and unfortunately ther was no hot water. We were attending a party and I therefore had to shower in cold water. It was not the leisurely preparation for an evening out that I was hoping for. I do appreciate that these things happen, but I was looking forward to a long hot bath and was disappointed. |
