The location of the hotel is a major plus point. It's a five minute walk into town where there are plenty of bars and restraunts .
Our room was an attic room- because of the sloping ceilings I had to remember to lower my head or risk hitting the ceiling. Also the sink tap was impossible to turn off completely hence it dripped all night.for a double room the bed was very narrow. All in all not a pleasant experience.
Very friendly staff
Room too hot, no lounge area to sit in. Stairs made it difficult with suitcases.
Classic private hotel. Bathroom facilities very clean. No outside traffic noise.
Location for what we were doing. Friendly staff clean and comfy
Little bit disorganised. Our booking wasn't actually there when we got there but thankfully they had a spare room. Also a little pricey.
Fact that late arrival was not an issue
Lack of air in the room.
Room, Wifi poor, reception arrangements,parking
Great location, 5-10min walk from station. Staff were friendly. 24 hour reception.
Breakfast (£8.50) felt limited, wasn't a buffet. Rooms looked dated.
covenient location, competent personnel, quiet, value for money
pretty basic. bathroom needs an upgrade. Hardly any water pressure for the shower.
Well run hotel with very polite and helpful staff. I will stop again at The Overcliffe.
The room was fine and the service friendly (particularly when we returned about 1 am). The location was good as it was very near the station.
This hotel definitely seems over priced for what you get. In particular the fact that the £89 room rate does not include breakfast made it feel a bit extortionate.
The food, evening meal and breakfast, was excellent but this of course did not come in the room tariff.
The member of staff had no idea of bar stocks nor the location of each room. Although the hotel had many empty rooms, staff had to check with the chef before we were granted permission to have an evening meal. The toilet flush in the room was ineffective and we had to fill the waste paper bin with water to pour down the toilet for an effective flush. There was no hot water in the sink in the room and the shower was extremely small with no shelves or the like for shower toiletries. There were not enough towels on arrival, 1 x set between two people in a double room and the room itself had cobwebs in various places and dirty hand marks on the paintwork of the walls and ceiling. I say the ceiling because the room was in the attic and as a tall man I continually banged my head on the sloping ceiling. There were no chest of drawers or a similar facility for small clothing items We were staying one night and were attending a function in the area that same evening so we put up with the hotel for one night. We would not have put up with it for a longer stay. The total cost for the room and breakfast for one night was £106.00. Not good value for money.
The Hotel was presented well and the staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and tailored to whatever I wanted but you are paying for this on top of the room rate.
Restaurant seemed to be closed in the evening (or at least it was when I tried to get in at 7.00pm) so I had to head into Gravesend to find somewhere to eat which wasn't a problem.
Location was convenient for my needs
Price. Lumpy bed Poor TV reception Lack of bar snack menu
We thought the bar area and the restaurant were excellent - the meal itself was also superb
TV is broken and the bathroom too small.
