Friendliness of hosts. Spotlessly clean, comfortable. Well-equipped - fresh milk a brilliant idea. Wonderful breakfast. Efficient shower. Walk or cycle from the back door. Convenient for Plymouth.

The place is very old fashioned. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything in neighbouring rooms (snoring, TV, coughing (and I thought we might have a death on our hands during the night!). The price seemed very high for electric shower, very small room and poor acoustics. It was not relaxing in the slightest. We checked out early and lost 65% of the payment which was also very disappointing. It turned into a very expensive night and it wasn't happy!

Extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the very high standard of food served at breakfast. We had a very comfortable bed and a great view from room 5 . David and John are the nicest hosts we have had the pleasure to meet. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very informative of the local area. This is by far the best small hotel we have used and will certainly be returning in the future.

The excellent breakfast The comfortable bed

Could not find the turn-off to Old Station Road in the dark - neither end. Overshot it twice on every occasion.

David and John were the most wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived until the time we - reluctantly - left. We had the accessible room because we are in the new middle age (70-80!) and I sometimes have mobility problems. The room was lovely. It felt like staying with friends, with books and magazines on hand and helpful local knowledge (yes, the London Inn is a great place to eat). As for the Overcombe breakfasts - superb! And such a choice, all freshly cooked and served with panache. Our thanks to David and John for a really lovely break and we hope to see you again next year.

All those positives - what's not to like?!

Very friendly, lovely breakfast, noting too much trouble, very very clean. Loved watching the birds.

Would have liked somewhere in the garden to sit, but respect that they want the wildlife.

David & John, wonderfully attentive hosts, excellent locally sourced breakfast feats.

quite hard to find in the dark, bed a bit firm for me - but these are very very minor, compared to the positives.

Very friendly staff/owners. Explained how everything worked eg TV room was immaculate especially bathroom. Had little extras not usually found in B&Bs or even most hotels. Definitely going back. could not have been more helpful with maps and the areas to walk.

    Nothing to dislike.

We really liked the position in the natural park. The staff was very kind and friendly.

A free wifi could improve the services of the guest house
