Score from 896 reviews Very good
The room is weird, it's not like a hotel. More like a motel. The bathrooms need some definite improvements
Gym and pool looked good
The room was very basic. They only have double beds so my friend and I had to share. There were cobwebs hanging from the picture and wall 'ornament'. Although they knew there were two guest because we spoke to them at check in and on the phone, our room had one hand towel & one bath towel. Reception closes at 11pm so when we realised this there was no one to ask for more towels.
Convenient for Nottingham, and surroundings were pretty.
Reception staff were disinterested in the comfort of our stay. The room was clean however incredibly noisy, the guest upstairs and next door managed to keep us awake with just the basic walking around and watching TV had the walls not been paper think this would not have been a problem
Everything was "no trouble" for the fabulous staff and I felt very well looked after on both my trips to this lovely venue.
The main restraint was booked for private functions on both evenings, the Cedar bar was also shut even though I had been advised it would be open. Complained on the evening about the situation and was advised to complain. The complaint was about the lack of tables to have a meal at, only one coffee table available in the main bar, I have now been advised by the managing director that this is acceptable to eat a three course meal at a coffee table. The hotel advertise 3 area's that you can eat, main restaurant ( hired out for private function), Cedar Bar (only opens in summer) and the main bar (small). If the hotel want to hire out rooms should they not have Private Function Room's. As a guest of the hotel you are way down the pecking order, golf club first the fitness gym then hotel.
Small room, with caravan-like bathroom, no bath
The surroundings The clubhouse
Bedroom was a little cool for my liking.
Location was excellent, bar very pleasant with good selection of beers and food. Good gym for those interested.
Bin not empty from previous guest
The breakfast could have been better quality.
The price, the bed was comfy , the gym and pool.
Rooms quite small. Almost fell onto bed as we entered through the door. Noisy plumbing after flushing. Did not feel welcome in bar. Tv and lights started to go off at 2 minutes to 11.pm
A mistake was made with my booking and even though the room had not been used I was not allowed to transfer my booking to the correct day. Whilst I understood and accepted it, I did not like the tone the Manager used and she certainly did not go out of her way to compromise or offer a discount of a repeat booking. I therefore decided to not spend any more money with them and booked another similar hotel in the area.
The fact that we booked wat we were belived to be a hotel and it isnt
Friendly atmosphere, excellent facilities
The complex was very relaxed and friendly. Our room was like a chalet in the hotel block, on the bottom floor and adequate for our overnight stay with our bicycles. Slept well, very quiet. Use of facilities, gym and pool included in our price. Restaurant had lovely view and very friendly staff throughout. The area around was fantastic for touring; beautiful views, quiet roads, picturesque villages and traditional very old pubs. Plenty more to see another time
Liked everything. Staff,Food,Service Pool sauna steam room spa pool. All Fantastic
Nothing, all fantastic.
Mainly the fitness facilities but my room was also great. Shame I only stay on business as I'd like to bring my husband.
I enjoyed using the pool & jacuzzi steam rooms too, the staff are friendly & helpful.. Rooms are average size but comfortable..
I thought it looked nice outside but the rooms are do dated and we actually got a refund as we could stay there and it smelt
Rooms are old and need refurbishing. TV is on its last legs. Such a weak Wifi signal it could not be used.
Food was to good standard.
A small fridge in the room could have helped. If you are not driving then this place is not possible to access at all as it is quite in the middle of nowhere.
The room was small but comfortable and value for money. Breakfast every morning was pretty good. The hotel compound is pretty scenic and the golf course adds to its beauty. The restaurant was fabulous and loved whatever we ordered for dinner. Wish my week wasn't a very busy one and I could use the pool and sauna.
shower pressure not good.breakfast plentiful although quality of cooked sausage & bacon needs to be of better quality for reflection of level of catering you would expect of this hotel. also hot drink despensers only tepid.
room very good.facilities excellent. staff attentive.
Only towels for one person, so had to go out in the rain and freezing temperatures to Reception to get more. Mattress very soft. Very thin carpet, so floor cold. Breakfast was disappointing. Sausages were awful
The staff were friendly, and it was clean. Leisure facilities good.
I'm a light sleeper only blinds at windows so advise eye mask
Food was good lovely room no problems
