Score from 22 reviews Fabulous
A boutique Georgian hotel, Fishmore Hall overlooks Ludlow, with stunning views over the Shropshire countryside. Recently restored, the hotel boasts contemporary bedrooms with designer bathrooms.
Score from 213 reviews Fabulous
Tall, square, solid and stylish, Dinham Hall is the epitome of a grand late-18th century family home located opposite the Medieval castle.
Score from 217 reviews Very good
Just 7 minutes’ drive from the centre of Ludlow, The Clive Restaurant with Rooms offers luxurious accommodation alongside its award-winning restaurant.
Score from 49 reviews Superb
The close proximity to Ludlow, the lovely clean swimming pool that was not too hot so I could swim for exercise, the log fire in the bar/lounge area, the little surprise courses added to the set menu, the view from our bedroom, the peace and quiet, the friendly staff.
The beds were a bit hard (personal preference of course) and my husband felt that the main course of the set menu in the restaurant could have been a bit more generous.
Dinner expensive and too much cordon bleu for us
Location and Ambience
Very nice hotel and staff friendly. Liked the swimming pool to relax after a day sightseeing. Food nice.
Hotel not very warm in all areas but especially pool area. Food nice but expensive needs more variety of choice. Bed hard and uncomfortable. No proper shower in room.
Lovely hotel in a very nice situation. Nice clean room. Good choice for breakfast & the full English that we ordered was very tasty. We enjoyed the use of the pool & sauna.
We didn't have a bath in our bathroom which was a bit disappointing, the shower wasn't very good as the shower head wasn't great & it didn't get hot enough.
The staff were friendly and courteous and the ambiance relaxing. The location was quiet and peaceful and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience
the smell from the flowers was a little overpowering
Very good breakfast and staff were excellent
The bed was very hard and sleep was difficult
The food was exceptional
poor shower, no pressure. only two coat hangers. No draught Beers.
Quiet and comfortable. Excellent staff.
Lethal tiles around the icy swimming pool and changing area. This needs to be addressed urgently. Pool looks lovely but this issue makes it unfit for purpose.
Really value for money. Beautiful hotel, very clean and all staff were very polite. The evening meal was a real delight with added surprises because of the local food festival. We shall rebook again soon :)
No separate shower, bath only.
A property with great potential. Very quiet and relaxing environment. Very elegant décor in public spaces, and a superb breakfast layout.
The attitude of the management when asked for alternative dining options. The hotel provides a very narrow and rigid service offering and are not open to any variation on this offering that would be reasonably expected of a Hotel in this price bracket. Housekeeping standards are not of the standard expected in this price bracket. Thick dust found on the television shelf, cobwebs in corners and doorframes, dirty bathroom fittings and mouldy grout in the bath (no shower!). When mentioned to the management the response was "What do you expect from a 3 star Hotel?"
Location very pleasant. Polite helpful staff. Decoration in keeping with building & star rating. Good size room & huge bathroom (10).
Beds uncomfortable, rock hard & springs very noticeable. Stain on duvet cover looked dubious. Pool cold. A la Carte menu limited, expensive & pretentious.
Staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent a very nice hotel.
I thought the hotel was very expensive for what it was. I've stayed at comparable hotels that were much cheaper.
Too expensive, have stayed at more luxurious hotels with far better food for a lot less money, e.g. Slaley Hall Hotel, Nr. Hexham, Northumberland. Website and information in reception indicates an a la carte menu and a degustation menu, we were just offered a set menu, which was not described as degustation, and I wouldn't qualify as degustation. Several of the courses were poor and not as expected from the menu description. When we booked I asked several times about booking a taxi to get to the food festival, was told no problem, when we checked in taxis not available unless extremely early, I.e. before festival opened, we had to get up,earlier than planned and rush breakfast to enable this
Loved the location, the staff were very efficient and friendly and the restaurant and food were superb - drinks also reasonably priced
Didn't like the small bathroom without a proper shower and the light overhead did not work - if we go again, I would ask for a different room other than room 23
Good Location 2 miles out of Ludlow in superb grounds and views. Quaint Oldie Worldly Hotel, wooden panelling in reception and dining rooms. Staff were good and attentive. Good facilities i.e. swimming pool etc. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection cooked to order.
Room 18, smallest room in the hotel, confirmed by staff when I later complained. Room was about 2/3rds the size of a Premier Inn room and was more than double the price at £139.00 B&B per night. The bed was a small size double with a very thin mattress, I had a bad nights sleep and woke with a bad back ache. The ensuite shower room was very small, difficult for 2 people to use at the same time. I booked through Booking.com and from past experience believe that some hotels give their poorest rooms to these type of bookings because the agencies charge them about 30% for the booking.
Quiet and relaxing. Staff very nice when they could be found.
Staff not always available. Had to wait an age to get a drink in the bar in the evening. UHT milk and rationed to only two sachets of coffee.
superb comfort good swimming pool excellent breakfast quiet country surroundings
Location View Quality of Food
Temperature of swimming pool Having to notify before using sauna No biscuits in room No slippers provided Too expensive
The decore in our room and guest bar appeared tired and dated. The rate appeared expensive for the quality of the accommodation.
Great location Very relaxing and quiet Very helpful young man on the reception Lovely cooked breakfast
The pool was rather cold The bed was quite small Not 100% cotton bedding
Very clean. Excellent breakfast including choice. Very polite and helpfull staff. Stayed 2 nights and all staff we met were consistently excellent!
The shower was on a mixer and the water pressure was very low, could have done with a pump to compensate and more modern temperature control.
A beautiful house in a beautiful setting, close to Ludlow. Would be ideal for a wedding reception.
Impersonal and soulless due to lack of occupancy. Said they were busy the previous week but the visitors book had not been signed since 26 July and we were there on 11 to 13 August 2014. The menu was expensive and we would have been eating on our own in a beautiful dining room, and would have felt intimidated .
A lacarte menu was over priced
Dog friendly, exemplary staff, fabulous food
nothing we didnt like
