Very friendly staff and a great stay. The only issue is because of the location - right on the town square - it can be a bit noisy on weekend nights.

the staff were lovely. the food was simple and well cooked. the room was spotless. the decor was old fashioned but we loved that. don't change anything to make it more trendy please. we loved the old market town feel. it was a part of vanishing GB.

The main problem I found is ;the furniture are very old, creepy doors ,leaking toilets .Another main problem I had was about the loud noises during night. There's a bar at the ground floor and if you prefer a calm and relaxing sleep, better stay away from this hotel.

I loved the old-world atmosphere and friendly staff. Everything very good with a pleasant atmosphere in the bar. The hotel could make more of its connection with the writer, John Cowper Powys, who lived in Corwen for 20 years and wrote his great novels, Owen Glendower and Porius, here. The area is rich in literary and historical assocation that isn't fully realized in the hotel and town.

Corwen in a town that has seen much better days and the current appearance of the hotel reflects this demise. The owner and his staff were excellent but signifcant investment is required to upgrade this hotel.

Myself my 21 year old son and his 2 mates stayed at this hotel whilst on a white water rafting weekend in north wales. If you like old, historic hotels with character in a small village setting (like me) then this hotel will suit you. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and food was very good. We mixed with some locals later in the evening and had a fun time laughing at each others accents etc. a very pleasant stay. The young lads would have preferred a pool table or dart board to have some activity, but it is not that kind of hotel. The car park was a 100 yards away so got a bit wet walking back - still, after white water rafting it was nothing!

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable Our room to the front of the hotel had sash windows which were noisy as the traffic passed and the wind made the flags flap quite noisily, however, after the long day I had I was able to ignore it and I slept very well indeed.

We liked the location of the hotel because of the access to all places we wanted to visit in North Wales. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again.

The staff were very helpful, even finding out what time a particular TV program was on, so I could arrange our meal time around it! It was very cold for June and when I asked for a blanket the staff also put the heating on for us. The bed was hard so I didn't sleep too well and there was a bit of noise from people outside at bedtime.

This is an old fashioned historic hotel which has been partly refurbished although not to a very high standard. My single overnight stay was uncomfortably cold with heating off around 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. I was in a single room which was small but adequate. Only two guests in the whole hotel - me and another who turned out to be going to the same business event as myself. Only one member of staff to book me in and show me to the room - very pleasant but no way professional. There was a male staff member wandering round lacking communication and welcoming skills who turned out would serve breakfast. We both found it odd and strange in this place. Evening meal was expensive and of poor quality. £14 for steak pie (which was not steak pie but beef stew with a pastry topping), chips and salad. This would have cost about half of that elsewhere.
