The staff were helpful and friendly. the food was excellent. The superior room was well appointed and comfortable.
our room, no 27, was not prepared at check in time. The noise of creaking floorboards from above was extremely annoying overnight. No hot water on the Sunday morning due to a suspected gas leak.
Beautiful Grounds Friendly staff Nice room very large in size Restaurant serve lovely food
I was with my special lady .being with her and the surroundings of the ox pasture made our stay PERFECT. thank you . We will visit again
That they responded to my complaint re our allocated room condition promptly.
The lack of cleanliness in our first bedroom, lack of comfort and luxury in what was is classed as a country house hotel. Poor selection of cereals/pastries/ fruit at the breakfast buffet table.
Lovely hotel set in a beautiful location. Food excellent, I had a lovely room very clean, with really comfy bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would return.
Location Room Size Breakfast
Room was dusty id not feel clean Bathroom fittings tired Noise from next door through thin walls
The location was lovely. superior double room was really comfortable especially the big bed. the staff were really pleasant and helpful.
The floor above us creaked at every movement of the occupants, also their voices were audible. no hot water on Sunday morning due to a suspected gas leak.
We stayed in room 23, which was huge, it had a sitting room! Lovely view of the lake, in a beautiful, tranquil environment. Breakfast in the restaurant was also very good, a nice selection of fruit, cereal and juices as well as the option of a full english/porridge.
We could hear some of the other guests, but only if they were being particularly loud. The wifi wasn't the fastest or most reliable, but fine for occasional checking of emails/Facebook etc. Although very large, the bed was actually two singles pushed together.
We stay always in the Oxpasture Hall on the way home from Scotland because its so dogfriendly , England dog and horse Country but most of the time dogs not allowed in many publique places(don't have that problem in Belgium)and yes we d'like to have dinner with our dog and enjoy a good meal and thats all possible The Oxpaster Hall !!!
Nothing if the dog is comfy so are we !!!
Fabulous rooms, it was like a mini suite, rural yet close to coast. Great breakfast and food
The weather but even a great hotel cant change that !
Having arrived for a wedding, I was told by the bar staff, they couldn't serve me, and that I should go downstairs to the other bar to get a drink. Since I was paying £150 a night, I would assume that this offers access to all the facilities including the main bar area, regardless of whether I am part of a separate function.
We were particularly fortunate that each morning as the sun rose, we woke up to beautiful views from our room window
Wi fi although free was very slow and only available in certain areas.
Ambience of hotel is excellent. Our room was very comfortable and warm in chilly weather. It appeared that little expense had been spared in keeping the hotel luxurious.
The staff were individually pleasant and efficient but were overstretched and this showed from time to time particularly in the the restaurant. Perhaps this was due to the fact that the busy season had just passed and staffing levels had been reduced
Loved the P&Q which we got despite there being a wedding party on one of our days. The hotel is in an amazing setting with far-reaching views. At the time I was having walking difficulties so really appreciated the little gentle stroll round the courtyards and grounds with interesting planting schemes and garden ornaments to look at. Loved the swallows nesting under our eaves - we could watch the parents popping in with food from our bed! Restaurant great and breakfast good with tasty mushrooms. Also liked the availability of lovely hot porridge. Will definitely go again soon.
The hotel is located in a very rural location and is very quaint interior wise. Staff were friendly and nice. Rooms were clean and of a very good size.
No wifi connection in rooms and very bad tel reception as well. We had dinner in the main restaurant, which really wasnt very good. We were a group of friends, and no one really enjoyed the dinner. Shame. Breakfast was better.
We loved the little courtyard and the beautiful garden our room was a very good standard the bed was so comfortable only wished we could have stayed longer.
Room was shabby not well maintained no coffee in room decor was drab not the room we were led to believe we were getting heated towel didnt work(valve stuck)bath panel coming away from bath safe on floor in dark cupboard(no good for elderly)could have had small fridge for fresh milk instead of vile uht mini cartons could hear everything in nextdoor bathroom furniture could have been spruced up cobwebs in room no extra toilet rolls left in bathroom(says in brochure could ask for more)but who want to go to reception and ask for more toilet rolls!should have minimum stock in bathroom at all times breakfast looked unappetising (sausage looked as though it had been heated up in microwave)fresh orange juice tasted like vinegar(pleased we didnt book dinner)staff looked as though they didnt want to be there
Food excellent location superb accomodation lovely
Not enough trained staff room not checked I.e, things missing like iron toiletries hairdrier etc
This hotel is fabulous,we enjoyed our stay very much,it's spotlessly clean and beautiful hotel inside and out. The staff are amazing and realy down to earth and kind and professional.we will be coming back again. We enjoyed the stay a lot and enjoyed the surroundings .the room was beautiful ,very clean, like home from home and very modern .the food is lovely and recommend this hotel so much. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Room ok need new materess could hear toilet and shower above keeps u awake needs better sound insulation could hear dog walking in the above room that bad
Food excellent but restaurant very understaffed. Felt very sorry for the one person trying to serve breakfast to approx 60 guests. A much brighter bedside light was produced when requested, as we found the lighting in our room very inadequate for reading.
Weather cold. Heating on on arrival. Off all next day, so requested it to be turned on. Heating on all night - informed receptionist next morning. Very apologetic but still no heating that afternoon. Complained again but never did get any heating - so gave up! Also kept asking for sugar in room welcome tray, but never did receive any! Both petty complaints but very irritating.
general location food nicely cooked and presented plenty of parking available helpful staff when available
difficult to find needs general overhaul inside and out shortage of staff dogs in dining area would have expected choice of local seafood and steak on menu poor service in dining room - not enough staff room dusty and coffee / milk not replenished on second day wedding guests in residents areas
The location is wonderful, surrounded by fields etc which was perfect for our dog. Great welcome when we arrived both for us and for Jess, our dog. The bed was comfy but creaky, despite being a room used for dogs and their owners it was very clean. The bathroom was great with a wonderful power shower. Toiletries supplied too. We ate at the hotel as it would have been a bit of a trek to go elsewhere and the food and service were very good, but a little overpriced. We would definitely stay there again.
The only criticism would be that there was some confusion over breakfast. Obviously dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant so we went in to the bistro but we had to wait to be seated as there was no member of staff in there, and you had to go from one place to the other for anything from the buffet.
Untidy room Staff left keys in the door after cleaning our room - luckily nothing was missing. Dirty cutlery & glasses.
