This hotel is fabulous,we enjoyed our stay very much,it's spotlessly clean and beautiful hotel inside and out. The staff are amazing and realy down to earth and kind and professional.we will be coming back again. We enjoyed the stay a lot and enjoyed the surroundings .the room was beautiful ,very clean, like home from home and very modern .the food is lovely and recommend this hotel so much. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Room ok need new materess could hear toilet and shower above keeps u awake needs better sound insulation could hear dog walking in the above room that bad
general location food nicely cooked and presented plenty of parking available helpful staff when available
difficult to find needs general overhaul inside and out shortage of staff dogs in dining area would have expected choice of local seafood and steak on menu poor service in dining room - not enough staff room dusty and coffee / milk not replenished on second day wedding guests in residents areas
The location is wonderful, surrounded by fields etc which was perfect for our dog. Great welcome when we arrived both for us and for Jess, our dog. The bed was comfy but creaky, despite being a room used for dogs and their owners it was very clean. The bathroom was great with a wonderful power shower. Toiletries supplied too. We ate at the hotel as it would have been a bit of a trek to go elsewhere and the food and service were very good, but a little overpriced. We would definitely stay there again.
The only criticism would be that there was some confusion over breakfast. Obviously dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant so we went in to the bistro but we had to wait to be seated as there was no member of staff in there, and you had to go from one place to the other for anything from the buffet.
The food was outstanding! Service and staff were without fault. Will be staying again.
Location,food,staff Very dog friendly
The hotel is set in a beautiful location. At first I thought we had missed it with the narrow lane but when we got there the place was beautiful. The receptionist was very helpful and the room (number 6) was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the room was in good condition. We had an evening meal there and I would advise to book a time for the meal when you book in. The meal was of good quality and you could order from two menus. I kept asking about breakfast in bed but I got different answers from different members of staff so we got up for it. Good quality breakfast and service.
The only thing I could pull down is there could have been more selection on the restaurant menu. Also when I got our evening meal I ordered a starter and main. To my surprise a free first starter of potato and leek soup came with bread. This was very tasty but because I ate this and my starter I ordered from the main menu I could not finish my main course.
Dog friendly Great location Helpful staff trying to please
Chaotic nature of service (staff were willing - but lacked training) Untidy surroundings - at reception - piles of paper everywhere, in back courtyard - never swept, gardens at back unfinished, overflowing bins. Standard of breakfast, and strength of coffee changed every morning.
- comfortable bed - rural location - nice view from room
- 'Deluxe' upgraded room was in need of TLC - Restaurant focussed on image at expense of quality of food - not good value
Vegetarian food options very limited
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Felt like home from home. Very relaxing.
Maid service in room could have been better - needs more attention to detail.
excellent breakfast on first morning of stay,
The room safe was on the floor the make up mirror was set too high the disabled aid by the toilet was set so you could not sit properly on the toilet. staff addressed customers by their room number not by their name. on the second morning, we were a little later and the buffet breakfast was depleated and was not restocke
This hotel is in a beautiful setting. The room was immaculate. Food was nicely presented.
With the rooms being around a courtyard it was noisy late into the early hours of the morning with a wedding party. Food was dissapointing although well presented.
Converted farm house in perfect setting. Beautiful countryside high quality accomadation and friendly staff. Al a cart restaurant high quality and defiantly value for money.
We stayed for 5 days. On four of those days when arriving for breakfast at about 09.15 we found all the unoccupied tables had not been cleared. On one of those days we were led to the nearby bar area which we declined. On three of those days there was only one waiting staff on duty for 15 tables.
The room was beautiful. Location excellent. Food was lovely.
WiFi didn't work in the room No phone signal so WiFi was important. Only one person covering check-in and the phones - he couldn't do both jobs
Friendly staff, lovely food & location
Lack of sitting space for residents - could have been because of a wedding. No one on reception when we arrived or left and no bell to ring
Lovely and comfortable place to stay with helpful staff and very good food.
Absolutely no reflection on the hotel but mobile reception is aweful and expect to drop gps signal quite often if you plan on using sat nav.
Location Willing staff Buildinds were attractive.
Lack of consitency of service - eg. breakfast seved differently every day -chefs changed daily, coffee different strengths, inedible porridge/omlette one morning -suggested lack of training of willing staff Untidy reception desk, and courtyard unkempt - cigarette buts, plastic, paper not swept up over 4 days of our stay. All a bit haphazard and chaotic.
Very friendly staff, reasonable food, location excellent!
Chaotic restaurant service. Gardens a bit of a miss mash. Doesn't meet the 4 star grade and therefore overpriced. You don't get what you pay for!
Beautiful hotel and fabulous location. Room lovely huge bathroom\ wet room in new extension. Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful and courteous
Minimal beverages only 4 milks for 2 adults and 1 hot chocolate. Petty but at £150 a night we expected more. Only 1 shower gel and no bathrobes. Room only suitable for overnight stay too small no room to spread out and relax as also only one chair.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was of a very good standard. Comfortable lounge areas with good wifi access. The manner our complaints were handled.
Staff always replying 'no problem' following a thank you. The room was not serviced properly and was dusty with items left on the floor. A dirty tissue remained under the desk even after speaking to the manager. The gardens were a disgrace. Front was just passable, courtyard desperate for attention, rear garden neglected completely.
Outstanding food in the restaurant, will definitely be going back!
Location Grounds Food
Many areas still littered with empty glasses and general rubbish at 12 midday left from the night before Thin bedroom walls - could hear people in room below late at night and early morning (5am) just talking Arranged by telephone prior to arrival to have a room to change in for 4 people at 1pm - room not available until 1.30pm
