Excellent welcome - handsome young Hungarian carried our luggage right to our room (lady travelling with daughter). Heavy snowfall during our stay would have made it difficult to get out of carpark but a very smiley young man kept digging the snow to make it easier for us - never stopped smiling although he must have been freezing! Impressive! Loved the swimming pool - sometimes they don't live up to the photos, but this one is excellent! I left advice for hotel just to let residents know they should take a pound down to the pool with them (for the locker), and that they don't need to take their room towels, as a big towel is provided there...

It was comfortable, clean and friendly The photo of the Connoisseur room on the booking.com website showed a much bigger and better appointed room than that which we ended up with. The staff assured us that we were in the right grade of room which would suggest that the photo is misleading.

It's location close to Oxford city centre, with free parking. There was mildew in the bathroom and the bedroom itself looked tired - needed painting afresh.

All aspects of our stay were very well managed- even the fire alarm incident in the early hours of the 7thz Of particular note was the outstanding service we received from all staff which made our stay so enjoyable - we shall return! Nothing whatsoever!

Nothing really, we wanted a bargain braek in a nice hotel, the discount we got was not a discount, just the normal rate, no one in there right mind would ever pay £170 a night, our supposed bargain was £80 a night The standard double room is only just better than a travel lodge, this is not worth anymore than £60 a night, we asked to be upgarded and this room was no better so we stayed in the original room. The sauna, steam room are very small, the swimming pool and surrounding area look like they have not been updated since the 70'S. and the changing room is a dump. The gym near me in chester is a double tree hilton gym with hotel attached, it is infinately better and only about £20 more a night to stay, I say this for readers to compare. Do not stay here it is a rip off.

The Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel is very conveniently located and very clean but most of all treated us very well and helped us at every opportunity. This made our stay very relaxing and very enjoyable. Additionally, the Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel backs on to some beautiful feilds and countryside ... very unusal for a city centre hotel. Nothing really. The Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel provided value for money for what we paid.

We got a good price on the rooms which were spacious and comfortable. We enjoy the walk along the canal into town. Housekeeping have a tendency to show up really early on the day we are checking out, but don't attend the room until much later on other days during our stay. They could do with bigger beds - king size please!

Breakfast - No temperature control in the room. Was very hot at night - TV was not working properly - Swimming pool was too far away from my room to be usable - Long wait for checkin, and then we were given keys that were not activated. As a result I had to carry all my bags back along a long corridor.

This was our third stay. We always find the staff go the extra mile to make you feel special. Wonderful food with top quality ingredients. Location is great with a lovely walk along the river into town. Bedrooms very comfortable with super bathrooms - always spotlessly clean.

The hotel is in a good location with a short taxi drive to the centre of Oxford. The room was a good size and very clean but the bed was not very comfortable as it was quite a firm mattress and the pillows were not very soft either. This was a shame because all other aspects of the hotel were fine but a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed is essential- especially as we chose a 'conoisseurs room'.

Large and comfortable room towards the back of the hotel with view over green space and quiet. Location very handy for the city centre - especially for those of us with a bus pass! None at all. A one night stay.

“Excellent hotel. Near Oxford and a lovely old stone building next to the river in Sandford on Thames. We had one of the older rooms which was great with a lovely big bathroom. The breakfast was standard english buffet but the sausages and bacon were a bit dried up under the lights but you can order a freshly made poached eggs on toast or other from the menu which was better. The hotel is just outside oxford so you can get a bus (116/106) which stops just outside the hotel up til 6pm in the evening into town. Taxis cost about £10 each way. You can also walk into oxford along the thames path which takes about 40 minutes but was a bit muddy in parts after the rain. Recommend this hotel ” Jane, Ottershaw |
