The setting - parklike and walks to the thames close by. The restaurant was good especially deserts. Friendly wait staff.Good exercise facilities with a pool.

Our room was over the pool and very hot. Since the weather was warm it was difficult to cool off even with windows open. It is a wedding venue and so was quite crowded.

We the very friendly atmosphere and the swimming pool area. Also the food & the attentive staff during the stay. The reception staff were very helpful even though they were very busy owing to the wedding that weekend.

Although we expected to pay extra for the wine we were surprised we had to pay extra for some of the courses included on the menu. I think it would be helpful to explain this more clearly when booking the hotel .We think it was cheeky to ask for more money when the deal was for half board.

Main entrance/ hall/ bar area is beautiful; it manages to be both grand and cosy. The grounds are lovely for relaxing, and the pool/sauna facilities good for a hotel. Our room, in the old building, was beautiful, with a great bath! Staff were very good at service while also not bothering you if you just wanted to sit and read. Location's good too: Far enough away from the city to be relaxing, but we also enjoyed walking into central Oxford along the river.

Repeatedly logging onto the wifi; Bar food a little over-priced; Steam room not hot or steamy enough.

The location The facilities The room The leisure suite

The bar service was far too slow because the staff were not sufficiently competent. The food was okay but very modest in portion. One or two of the staff did'nt quite look 4 star in appearance.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast and evening meal were very good and the leisure facilities were first class. We were aware of the location of the hotel and you cant really walk into Oxford but the boat ride was scenic and the bus stops outside the hotel drive. Would highly recommend this hotel

    Nothing at all

We stayed over August bank holiday weekend and although this hotel was quite busy with a wedding each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), this did not spoil our stay. The staff were very attentive and our room was very comfortable. There was a good choice with the breakfast buffet and we ate in the restaurant every evening. Food and bar prices are what you would expect of a hotel of this style. One very useful thing was a night-light in the bathroom so stumbling about in the dark to use the loo - such a good idea and I don't know why it is not a more common feature in other hotels! Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again next time we are in Oxford.

Our room was an ideal size and in a quiet part of the hotel. Meal times were organised within a good range and the menu was well set up. The staff were most polite and helpful and everywhere in the hotel was maintained to a high standard.

Had no cause to dislike anything.

    nice building quality accommodation

room service food-lukewarm, tiny portion. Beef accompanied by 1 new potato, cut in half and 2 carrots! Room service breakfast choice 'full breakfast' didn't specify, so some waste. Patio doors locked, had to pay £10 refundable deposit to get key
