Staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast and evening meal were very good and the leisure facilities were first class. We were aware of the location of the hotel and you cant really walk into Oxford but the boat ride was scenic and the bus stops outside the hotel drive. Would highly recommend this hotel

Our room was an ideal size and in a quiet part of the hotel. Meal times were organised within a good range and the menu was well set up. The staff were most polite and helpful and everywhere in the hotel was maintained to a high standard.

Had no cause to dislike anything.

The beautiful location, excellent meal in Riverside restaurant (other meals in Conservatory were just fair). Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.

The rooms were extremely HOT in the afternoon, as the weather was quite warm. This made it practically dangerous for my elderly father to take a nap in his room. There were fans, but no air con.

Staff, facilities and hotel overall were great, celebrated our wedding anniversary and had a lovely room overlooking the river. Close enough to drive into Oxford. All together made for a perfect weekend.

The long driveway that makes you smile even before you see the main buildings. This really is a nice hotel. Pictures on the internet don't really do it justice. The quality feel in the room and furnishings were excellent.

Staff in the resteraunt had a after me attitude rather than after you only a small point but happened on few occasions, didn't spoil the feel of the place though.

Staff were very attentative and you could recognise some pride in their association with the hotel, I found the hotel had a very relaxing atmosphere.

Only one minor observation, in the main enterance way announcement of functions and events (weddings) was by means of an A4 page blue tack to the glass. As a customer I see this as very unprofessional. In my hospitality business we have stands for announcements. As a bride and groom I would find this quite disrespectful. A professional stand would go some way towards acheiving service excellence and make guest feel special. Hope this helps,

We just LOVED this place. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden and with a view to the river. Late night glass of wine (or two) sitting out there. Wow! A short walk (1 minute) to the riverside and it was heaven! The cruise will stop to pick you up if you just flag him down. Great evening meal and breakfast in an amazing conservatory. We only stayed one night but I wish wish wish it had been longer. You MUST check out this place.

Nothing. It was almost perfect, and we are "hotel veterans"!

    nice hotel and grounds.

That we had to pay for a upgrade on our room as we didnt get the garden room with patio, even though we had booked a room with patio.

We did not get the room we requested - we wanted a Connoisseur with a King Bed and got a so called Luxury Double with a Queen. We were made to feel 2nd class citizens because we had booked with Booking.com. The breakfast staff were unfriendly and unhelpful and the breakfast itself was awful. There was 1 wedding when we arrived and 2 weddings the next day - not a place to stay if you want peace.

The room was spacious with a well fitted bathroom spotlessly clean ,the shower controls worked well ,with plugs that worked, access to the restaurant was easy as the room was in a block that was attached to the restaurant.Excellent breakfasts were provided.

The dinner menu choice while varied did not match expectations especially with the starters ,they were minuscule. The best main course was the Rib eyed steak which was tender and cooked to perfection. The prices were tending to be on the high side.
