Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel  

The staff, particularly in the restaurant, went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Beautiful surroundings, including walks by the Thames.

The bed was far too soft for our liking. Inconsiderate guests waking us up at 2 a.m. The function itself, which presumably they had been attending did not disturb us at all, as it was a decent distance away. Perhaps hotels in general could do something about this problem - notices, a few words etc., otherwise people will not book hotels when they know that there is to be a Saturday function.

Shower pressure and impossible temperature control.

Hotel was nice enough, clean and friendly staff for the most part. Well priced and a worthwhile trip.

On check-out we were extremely disappointed by the behaviour of the head receptionist who tried to charge us extra for a bill we had already signed off on. The whole thing left a sour taste and I'd not only never visit again as a result of it but I will also be actively discouraging, friends and business contacts from ever staying with any hotel in this group again as a result. Atrocious way to be treated and a terrible end to what had been a nice trip.

The staff were so helpful and went out of their way for us, even posting back a cardigan I'd left behind. The reception and bar area were really lovely. Nice pool and lovely room.

The location was a little further from town than we'd thought, but this isn't really a fault with the hotel. They did let us park in their sister hotel in town.

Some way out of the city (a GBP15 taxi ride each way) and no public transport option after 7pm.

bed was very hard and lumpy,which didnt help sleep. this is a major issue

Having cleaners knock on my door three times before 9.30am when I was due to check out at 11am.

Shower/ bath water very slow to drain away Room service took forever to answer, I had to phone reception to get a service. Bathroom not very clean

The rooms where comfortable, the lounge area very comfy & relaxing. The spa/sports area was very nice.

better tea/coffee facilities in room & a fridge would have been nice. Also a dvd player.

They had a lot of foreign staff, but they were very polite and helpful.

Our room seemed at times to get quite warm and the pillows werent comfortable.

The food needs a lot more choice. Drinks are bit expensive. Adding items the bill before they were even signed for ! .

The staff, from first entering and booking in progress, to, four days later, booking out,we had excellent service and nothing was to much trouble. I have and still do use hotels all over the country, yours is definately one of the top five!

Sorry, but room 80 was a little worn. i believe that the room needs some attention now, it was down to a Premier Inn standard, clean and functional!! This did not effect our stay with you.

Speed of information from reception staff. Price. Hotel website said half a mile from city centre, this was untrue as it was 3 miles.

Pretty location, well-trained, friendly staff, lovely, large bar area in huge barn with open fire. Excellent breakfasts with good quality ingerdients. Bedroom large, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean.

Orange juice ran out at breakfast. Some building work going on outside the dining area-not noisy, just unsightly.

The long corridors. Especially difficult to manoeuvre through all the doors, especially with luggage.

We thought the hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff were extremely helpful and the room we stayed in was delightful. It was a perfect base to visit Oxford

we had two bar meals, and the food was good, appart from "oven" chips. I was disappointed to have them served to us in such a good hotel.

Nice food in the restaurant, good pool / spa facilities, decent decor in the room and all clean.

Even in a slightly pricier room the mattress wasn't very comfortable.

The food was very good and the service was attentive and welcoming from all staff. Peaceful and scenic surroundings added to an enjoyable break.

We could not fault anything on our visit.

The staff is friendly.

It is a very large hotel with long corridors. My room was on ground level and the windows could not open without a lock. this gives an unsafe feeling as anybody could come into the room.
