Good communal lounge/bar and nice atmosphere Awful room, not worth £65, no better than a youth hostel and no window. Felt really poky and the bathroom on the top floor was horrible- broken shower and whole of top floor smelt of damp.

Helpful, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Pleasant room and small sitting room. We had a room at the front and it was very light at night with a lot of traffic noise.

Showers were not working properly. I had treacle of water one morning. Staff ladies were good, but one morning for breakfast I got to have my breadfast at 9 am and they looked unimpressed. I know that breakfast is served till 9:30 so didn't see the problem. I heard words like "she" and a bit of huffing and puffing. Very unpleasant!

Family kind of atmosphere. You feel you are living in a house. They dumped my luggage including lot of my food stuff out of the room at 10:20 whereas the checkout time was 10:30. I came back at 10:20 after some outside work and found all my stuff dumped in a garbage bag ! They simply said we thought you have checked out whereas I had not even returned the keys. On top of this they did not show any remorse. Very disappointing.

It's very efficient, friendly and spotlessly clean. I stay there everytime I travel to Nottingham and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Excellent value!

Locationel ag close to university was our reason for choosing this hotel. It was friendly and comfortable, good value for money. I suspect we will be needed for taxi service to the university again and will be happy to stay at p & j again. Thanks For the stay.

The p&j Hotel is a lovely victorian, the pictures don't do it justice!! So much better than we expected. Our room faced the street and there was no noise to keep us up. The staff was great the entire time, and Zoe was so helpful at 6:45 am the morning we left. We were in Nottingham for my friend's son's graduation from the University and the location was great just between town and the University. Quick cab ride to each and a 20min walk to Market Square if you chose to do so. There is a market just up the block as is the movie theater. And a bus stop just up the street too. Thank you so much P&J for making our stay so memorable! Oh, just one thing. They don't have a lift so make sure your bags aren't too heavy. We were lucky we were on the first floor, our bags were way too heavy, but that's just cuz we all packed way to much stuff :-)

It is an extremely clean and tidy hotel. The location is excellent as it is in the student area where our daughter lives, but also near the city centre. Good value for money.

I received a very friendly welcome and efficient check-in service which I particularly appreciated as I arrived late at night. My room was nice and thankfully very quiet, so had a good night sleep. Shower - it was easy to use but could not set the temperature so either too cold or hot.

Great friendly service at a good price. For the price (£25 / night / person) there was nothing to complain about.

The hotel was very nice, we only stayed in our room to sleep, but it was all clean and nicely laid out. The breakfast very very nice too! The bed was very hard and so were the 2 pillows, not that comfortable a nights sleep, would take my own pillows next time!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. It was nice to stay somewhere that wasn't part of a chain and had a bit of character. Plus the hotel had a car park which is a definite bonus in that part of Nottingham.
