The location is excellent and the Sunday night price a bargain. Room was decent size and clean, good to have plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast in large basement area was also very good with a good continental selection. Only complaint is that the room was surprisingly warm and a bit stuffy even though it was a very cold night and the radiator was turned off. It would have been better for the windows to have been fitted with a restricted opening rather than sealed shut. Overall though this is a good place to stay.

I cant find anything I would recommend about this hotel. The room was actually across the road from reception. Upon entering the building one can immediately see its in need of a major refurbishment. Its tired, very tired. The carpets are manky and the walls are painted anaglypta. Upon entering the room, it was dark and small. I have a wardrobe almost as big as the bathroom! There was no bath, just a very tight stand up shower. The mattress was thin and old, though the sheets were clean. The tv was old-style and only had 8 channels but there was actually only the 4 traditional terrestrial channels view-able. The carpets in the room were threadbare. No internet in room.

The location is pretty central. It has the paddington metro station (Yellow Circle Line) and also Lancaster Gate station (Red Line) nearby (150m) which provides quick access to the main attractions located within the Circle Line. For the price (70£/day) you really can't get any better in the nearby area, right next to Hyde Park. The breakfast, although it was not British breakfast, served our needs. Large bedroom. Considering the excellent location and price, I really think it's rather good. However, if you intend to get more decent facilities, you'll need to pay at least double to get a nicer bedroom. It really isn't an hotel, it's more like a cheap hostel, you get a bed and a bathroom and a simple breakfast, that's it. I was shocked by the age of the facilities. The building is rather old and it needs remodelling. The bedroom decoration and furniture was aged, the bed was unconfortable and it had some loose springs. The bathroom was tiny and it didn't look clean, there was dust all around. Also the mirror cabinet above the sink was pretty oxidated. Some tiles were cracked in the shower area. Based on the star rating (3 star) I was expecting a much better service, but it looks like the 3 star rating is equivalent to a 1 star in Portuguese hotels, so beware. The hotel hasn't got elevator, this can be unconfortable, but in our case we got the room in the ground floor so it wasn't an issue.

The welcome desk staff were very friendly Unfriendly hotel staff, our room (room 18) was disgusting and not to any standard that I would have expected for the price I paid!! All in all would not book with them again and would strongly NOT! recommend this hotel to anyone!

The location was ideal for a weekend break when travel time shoul be kept to a minimum. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. We had a room on the 3rd floor and since there is no lift I definately wouldn't suggest it to older people or people like myself who have some knee problems.

The location was great! It was super close to a ton of subways which made it very easy to get around London. We would for sure stay there again. I hated having to leave your room key with the front desk everytime you leave the room. Also, you have wi-fi, but only in the lobby across the street. Additionally, Google Maps puts the location in the wrong part of the street, so we got off at the wrong station (just a heads up).

the rooms were tiny - my six foot husband struggled to get any sleep as the beds are so small and the bedding inadequate. the site omits telling you that there are no lifts, and if you are on the fourth floor, its rather difficult getting your bags up and down, and, should you go out separately, with only one key between two, you have to run downstairs to let the other person in - and then up four floors again. the paddington hotels attention to detail is shocking - our bathroom door didn't close and this was not rectified until half an hour before we left.

It was convenient for my stay and the shower was hot & powerful The room was very noisy - ground floor room on the corner of a junction with no double glazing. Full size fridge in room was not conducive to sleeping. Aerial for TV was broken. Remote control for TV had no batteries and the casing was broken (no idea if it actually worked!). Shelf in bathroom broken. No iron - although the ironing board was there. Breakfast choices were very poor. Didn't stay for breakfast on the 2nd morning - chose to eat elsewhere

The hotel offers basic facilities at an excellent location on West End. In comparison to other hotels in the area, it's decent value for money. Don't expect the world if you're not paying for it and you won't be disappointed. Right on top of Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate underground station. Rooms have everything you need, but nothing more. Bathrooms are extremely small and look outdated.

The front staffs were friendly and helpful about enquiries. Good for business trips. 1. confusion on the booking address and check in address where the reception was is not the same thus were going around looking for the address on our booking confirmation. 2. no lift and pulling the bags up the spiraling stairs was a bit of a nightmare as we were on the third floor.

Friendly people, nice location, cheap prices, ... Our room had some small cracks in the walls and the bathroom shelf was crooked, but overall very clean. Ground floor rooms have single glass so street noises are quite loud in the room.

Great location! We had rather spacious room on the forst floor with small balcony that faced the road. 10-15 minutes from the Paddington station (Heathrow Express), 5 minutes to tube. Reception is just opposite the street. Ideal for exploring the city. Great for the money we paid. Bathroom is a little bit small but that was expected. Pillows are not great but OK for two days.

Price, position, nice staff at the reception. Neither a bottle of water and other beverages inside the room. No lift to the rooms (what about old people and disabled???), no one who helps you in carrying your luggage up to the very top (4th or 5th floor, I don't remember exactly) rooms!!! You have to carry your luggage on your own, throughout a lot of stairs-steps!!! Moreover, our room was very different (= worse!!!) than the pictures which are shown on booking.com! The room was old and quite squalid, the bathroom seemed like a ferry cabin- toilet; plus, they were not really dirty, but not deeply cleaned: we found someone else's hair inside the basin-hole, for instance. Moreover, when it's public holiday, the hotel itself cannot guarantee the main basic hotel services, such as: no one makes your bed (without any previous alert and sorry by anyone), for instance: never seen something similar before. As far as I know, hotels are supposed to be working mostly just right during holidays! At least, a turnover is wished, to avoid gaps in the basic services!

Location was perfect as we were visiting winter wonderland. Easy to grab a taxi and very close to tube station. It was very confusing, the actual building was seperate to where you sleep which was not made clear. Also we were put at the top of about 3/4 flights of stairs which I suppose gives u a work out! Not good for disabled guests. Breakfast was a let down, a small dreary room in the basement with a very small choice of food.

Found the Paddington to be clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Breakfast had a wide choice and staff very pleasant and helpful. Reception being across the road was not a problem, and 24 hr reception useful, where again staff were very helpful with local information and which bus routes took you to which destination. Just a few minutes walk away from bus services into central London and Lancaster Gate underground station next to bus stop. 8 minutes walk away from Paddington Main line station, but you would need taxi if you had heavy luggage. Would definately stay there again and recommend it to my friends

As a budget hotel in a prime location it would be pretty hard to be the rate charged for b&B. All the staff we encountered were polite and efficient. The room was spacious (much more so than many others have encountered) and clean. Breakfast (Continental) was fine and as expected. Windows in top floor room were draughty and the fridge looked a little rusty around the door, but nothing major.
