Very nice and spacious room, excellent location (cca ten-minute walk to the Paddington Station & a tree-minute walk to the Lancaster Gate tube station), very polite and welcoming staff. The room was quite hot and as it was on the ground floor and facing the street, I was afraid to leave the window open during the night.

Cristiano and the staff worked with me to get me a room on the main floor. Thank you so much. they could not do enough to make me comfortable. Breakfast was ok...nothing special. Hotel was convenient to Paddington Station and buses. As a single female traveler I felt very safe walking in the area. Upon arrival I was not pleased to find I that my room was suppose to be on the 2nd floor..since I .had requested 1st or ground floor. Still had 18 steps to go down into the basement for breakfast.

We found the location to be very nice. Just a short walk from Paddington Station in a quiet area not far from Hyde Park. Many people have commented on the lack of elevator but please do understand that if you are on the 3rd floor that you are actually climbing 6 floors due to the way the building is set up. We were fine but we traveled with packs not luggage. Our room was pretty dark and dreary but it served its purpose.

The location was good- a few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station and situated near a lovely park. Easy check in, were able to leave bags after check out and collect later. Nice decor/building. Reasonably priced. Very clean- new towels every day. Breakfast was okay- good choice of cereals, toast, juices etc. We found some of the breakfast staff to be quite rude- they did not once even say hello or acknowledge us. The reception staff however were pleasant. The room was nicely decorated but was quite shabby in places. The shower leaked and had limescale/rust around the bottom, the window kept out no sound whatsoever which made it quite hard to sleep.

The staff are friendly and polite. The breakfast is simple and healthy: cereal, fresh fruit, milk products, eggs, cheese, butter, jam and whole meal bread for toasts. The hotel location is very convenient: just a 5-min walk from the underground station Lancaster Gate and not far from Kensington Gardens. The whole impression: a lovely comfortable hotel in the cozy Victorian style building. We enjoyed our staying there very much!

Nothing Room was dark, dirty and noisy. The windows were filthy and even had some tissues stuck into the air-vent to block the air flow. There was no catch on the window and the wood was crumbling and worn away. The glass panes were delicately thin and so the noise from the (minor) road was awful. The bathroom was bizarre, with a small steel bowl (reclaimed from a disused prison maybe?) and dirty grouting. The toilet flush went on and on. The light in the bedroom was a fluorescent tube that flickered even when it was switched off. I complained and was given keys to see other rooms, all the same. I moved out for my second night, after they refused to refund me for both nights. Stay clear!

Convenient location (5 minutes walk from Paddington station). Clean and comfortable - nothing special, but extremely good value for London, would happily stay there again. Five flights of stairs and no elevator. Windows were thin and didn't close very well, so it'd probably be very cold in the winter.

good location, clean and comfortable room, plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Would use again based on convenience of location was asked for photo id when checking in which I didn't have. Breakfast was very basic. Horrible smell of curry in the public area when I got back late at night.

The breakfast room and continental breakfast spread was lovely. The decor of the room was very simplistic and modern. The room was very clean as well as the communal areas. Central location and very good value for staying on New Years Eve :) Beds were not very comfortable. Our room was on the top floor, no lift available, which meant we had to walk up 6 flights of stairs. The lighting in our room wasn't very bright either, and due to the single payne glass windows it meant we were a bit cold as the bedding wasn't very substantial for winter.

Close to local services It is unloved, its electrics require attention both lights and room equipment defective. Safe inoperable. Cockroach traps left under bed. Washbasin and fitings from a time long ago.

Ideal position for shops in Oxford Street, underground near-by to site see around London and a fairly quiet position close to Hyde Park. In need of a little TLC.

No wifi in the building, have to go across the street to another hotel to get Internet access. Very tiny room and shower, two people can hardly move around. Towels and bed linen smell like bleach. Same stuff for breakfast every day. One time our room was not cleaned.

The Staff was great. Everyone was very nice and courteous. The room was clean and tidy. Our room was smelly. We could not sleep with the window closed. Try sleeping in December with opened windows. Good luck with that. It was also very noisy. The room was very small and uncomfortable.
