The only compaint was the bed and bedlinen. The quilt cover was cheap and nasty . The matteress you could feel the springs so uncomfortable so much so we dreaded time for bed.
Place was very clean. Food was good and plentiful . Staff were helpful and cheerful. Appartment was well laid out. Queen Victoria bar and food hall were well laid out with plenty of room and food selection was really good.
Plenty to do. Food excellent and plenty of choices. Catering staff very polite and obliging and kept dishes topped up. Entertainment good.
The half board meals were excellent
The first evenings entertainment was very, very good. The second night through no fault of Pontins, the show was cancelled. Although the entertainment manager was apparently offered a blue comedian, he deemed an adult audience ( as it was a adult only break ) would not want to see it. So we thought that the blue coats would put on a small show of some sort. But in fact, Robert whom we believe to be the entertainment manager thought he was the new Larry Grayson that loved the sound of his own voice. He asked the audience if there was any entertainers that would like to do a turn, and two offered. One chap played a Squeeze box and then sang a comical ditty and the second was a very old gentleman who gave a couple of renditions on his mouth organ. Although Robert bought their table a drink, he was very demeaning towards them, and hurrying them up so he could be the star of the show, or it seemed that way. The following night there was a group Mick Mcnaughty and the Shenanigans or something like that, who after a couple of Irish songs reverted back to what must be their normal act, which by any standards would barely be acceptable in a back street boozer. By the time they had finished, they had managed to clear half the hall. The last night, we got two cabarets as we never had one on Tuesday. The dancers that apparently flew in from Ireland danced four or five dances ( which were very good ) but when you've seen one or two Lord of the Dances, you have seen them all. But nevertheless after the Larry Grayson tribute night and Mick McNasty it was very good. Finally we had an Elvis impersonator who, although wasn't the best, was very acceptable despite dressing to look like an over weight stick insect. Apart from that, in previous visits, the staff have been in amongst the holiday makers geeing them up and generally talking to them to make sure they were enjoying themselves. Although when you did catch one to talk to, they were all very helpful.
The room was clean, tidy but would have been better had there been two chairs as it was a twin room. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals were very good, especially the salad bar.The dinning room staff were friendly and helpful.
Intertainment. Leak in bathroom
The facilities on offer may have been o.k( we took our five year old grand daughter). The weather wasn't very good, time of year, so unable to use your outside activities as we would have done.
Rooms were very small but clean and comfortable for our one night stay.
Great priced deal for one night with dinner and breakfast included. Nice staff and very helpful. Thanks.
Beds very uncomfortable spring dig into you. Towels did not dry you new not washed before use.
Good value for money
Accommodation and food was lovely couldn't fault it. Have been there twice now and would definitely recommend
for the price where would you get a room half board and entertainment
Room was basic. Bed was firm and duvet too small
Value for money stay. Food was good and plentiful
room smelt bad, dirty towel left hanging on door, had to wash glasses and crockery, rubbish bedding, rubbish left outside,
not a lot food ok for price, close to beach,
Half board was very good value for money
Lovely apartment. Friendly staff. Good food. Cheap drink.
The toilet was covered in dried excrement & urine, the bed sheets were stained & so itchy we described them as fibre glass blankets!
Great place and for the price can not beat it wished we booked for 2 nights but next time we will
Ti be honest before we went we was really open minded I said to my partner that it was just a couple night break away it's not the hilton it's pontins don't expect much when we arrived we realised we had accidently clicked on 2 children on booking .com the money wasn't taken out my bank cos they didn't accept my card so we paid cash on arrival and when I mentioned this we was still asked to pay the full amount wleven tho we was paying for an extra child for half board the staff was so rude and didnthat do anything to change this mistaken and then our room had all rubbish and sanitry towels in the bathroom on the floor the bin overflowing from the last people it's discusting we felt like we was homeless for the weekend and we was in a temporary accommodationnot at a holiday park I have stayed at pontins before and also most of the caravan parks in clacton and wales and i enjoy them u no not to expect much and it's cheap and cheerful but this place Is discussting we didn't see any charecters for the kids walking around and it was half term they should have made more of an effort for the kids I have never had a u enjoyable holiday this is the first for me at holiday and caravan parks I ain't a fussy person camber sands pontins was better but I went there about 10 years ago so don't no what it's like now I was so shocked at how bad it was the carpets are discussing u wipe your feet on the way out my Lil boys bunk bed was swaying I didn't even let him sleep in it cos it was so unsafe there was no plug in kids room to plug a tv into for them and the bath was rotten had all hairs in it and to be honest looking at all the other shalet I didn't wanna ask to move cos they all looked more or less the same and the staff were so rude and unapproachable I even read some over the comments online and took no notice thinking they was moaning for nothing and not to expect too much but it was so bad I think the people that said it...
To be honest it wasn't a good stay for us
Tea and coffee is virtually undrinkable.
Value for Money - its unbeatable. Good food, but school dinner and not fancy restaurant so be warned. Salad bar is amazing!
The bed was uncomfortable
The food and accommodation
Swimming pool out of action Food rubbish
Swimming pool was filthy with excrement in the water and the changing rooms were filthy so we had to venture out into the cold to walk back to the chalet to get washed and dressed! Disgusted. Beds very hard and no bedding supplied unless at an additional cost!
Not sure I liked any of it but then we only stayed two days which was long enough! On the upside, plenty of food to choose from at meal times.
A single person has to pay for 2 people.
Location good and fact that meals are included.
Can't beat paying only £36 for a nights dinner bed and breakfast with entertainment included
