Value for money

I was in Lowestoft on business for 4 days and, rather than my normal situation of sitting alone in a hotel room, I was able to mix with the other residents and have a really great time in total safety. I went pre-christmas so enjoyed the party atmosphere. Food was great too. I often stay in 5 star accommodation and can't get porridge for breakfast. the choices were great.
not enough entertainment was not enough on
Most uncomfortable bed ever food unbeivable porrige was sprouting growth all food luke warm and very poor glasses dirty parking a joke disabled had to walk 300yards to our pit as stated previously septmber was so bad did not reurn lost all our money complained nothing was done would never ever return to pontins
Location is great, Food basic but good. Accommodation is basic but good, shows were good. Price was very good, Enjoyed ourselves and ready for Christmas
Location - unspoilt part of coast. Food adequate but plentiful, reasonable choice. Chalet warm, liked having kitchenette facility. Staff very cheerful and helpful.
Take something to put on top of plastic covered mattress as bedding pack provided has quite thin sheets.
staff were rude when questioned about accomodation.chalet was dirty duvet and sheets cheap . beds uncomfortable it does not matter whether you pay £10 or £100 that place needs attention and staff retraing
The half board
Both me and my wife stayed here 3 weeks prior to this last booking,so as we went back that gives you a clue to the fantastic value Pontins Pakefield is at £35.00 for two Adults Half Board. Let's be honest, B&B would be dearer! Can not fault what you get for the price you pay.
Reception staff are not that welcoming and if you ask for special requests at booking, these are ignored. But other than the above, it is great. We are both 43yrs old and we even felt like youngsters amid the OAP brigade, who are probably the ones that leave bad reviews as they want something for nothing, so please do not let that put you off!
Food was ok
Lack of reception staff and very unhelpfull. Shower far too small ,mattress terrable. Parking terrable and lack of lighting at night.
Unbeatable value for money
One arm bandits everywhere!
Good value for money. Choice of food was good.
Bed sheets were uncomfortable to sleep on
Decent food ok for one night if your picky it's not for u
value for money , food was good ,location , size of room
bed was very lumpy /uncomfortable / shower kept turning off after about 10-15 seconds tv needs updating freeview was very poor
Everything was better than expected.
Thought the games room could have been done with a good sweep of floor and tidied up.
The price it was cheap but staying here has made me think again when spending so little.
Nothing it was horrible. The room didnt look like it had been cleaned properly at all.cobwebs and dust on walls skirting boards and all round the door. The bed and towls looked like they hadn't been washed smelt dirty. I put my jumper over pillow to sleep. had springs digging in my back. Walls are like paper could hear next doors whole conversation. The whole park is dated and needs refurbishing big time. I just wanted to get out of there. Just glad I didn't take my 2 year old son there. Would never return. Very disappointed
You have to bear in mind this is a holiday camp and not a not a top class hotel. Indeed we stayed here in the 80s in the days of all the competitions - Miss Pontins, nobbly knees, bonny babies, etc! Can honestly say the chalets are a lot improved nowadays. We only stayed two nights and the total cost for the two of us was £72 half board - probably paid more than that in the 80s! We were supplied with towels. We had a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and kitchen utensils. We didn't get tea or coffee supplied but there is a shop on site and supermarket nearby. Chalets obviously old but clean. Electric heaters in bedroom and bathroom were quite sufficient and it was a cold weekend. We travelled to the camp by train and bus. Frequent buses to Kessingland and Southwold stop outside the camp. Lowestoft Gt Yarmouth & Norwich other direction. Food was good - of course canteen style. Several choices. Maybe vegetables too soggy for some! Jacket potatoes/salad as an alternative but these did seem popular and limited. Entertainment in large dance hall is good. Resident lady on keyboard played music for dancing. One evening we had an excellent 'Katherine Jenkins' style opera singer. Didn't test out swimming pool or day time entertainment. Bluecoats seemed friendly - joined in with dancing, etc.
We could feel every spring on the mattress on our bed but, speaking to other people, they didn't have any complaints so maybe we struck unlucky. Put us off staying longer. Would have thought it would have been better to improve bed quality and not add mini kitchen as wouldn't think many people use this with half board. Not sure though whether self catering is offered.
Been to Pontins a few times now . Good value stay. Plenty of food, good facilities. Friendly staff .
Didn't like the bed linen that was provided. Hours of food being served not long. Queues in bar sometimes .
The bed had no eadding between you and the springs. Got bruises to prove it. Food was disgusting. Television so small you couldnt see it from the bed. No easy chair to sit on. Grounds needed litter removing. Bar glasses still outside after 2 days.. Poor poor poor. Wouldnt go there ever again let alone recommend it. My family laughed when they knew we were staying there. They live in Lowestoft
We only stayed for 3 nights to visit our family in Lowestoft so the park was very near and handy. The chalet was very comfortable and clean and the food was very good.
When we arrived the girl at the desk could have told us a bit more how to open the front door of the chalet. It was written on the window how to lift the handle but it was very dark and I had to go back to the reception to ask but they were very helpful and send someone, it could have been avoided if they told us a bit more in the beginning.
location good and staff nice, but cheaply paid
having to clean chalet when we arrived. Fridge noise keeps you awake during night. Mirror position by front door allows people to view your bedroom. Shower on push button and runs cold. Shower allows water onto floor. Food supplied was basic and cheap ingredients.
room clean tidy warm
evening food hot bar the food was cold
Poor facilities, badly signposted once on site, dirty bathroom in poor state of repair, cheap bedding that didnt fit, paper thin duvet, bad security as we just drove on to site, parked and went and had dinner without even booking in, and nobody stopped us. Anyone can just pull in and use the facilities, and to think people take small children there !
Cleanliness of the chalet (we were in a classic double), provision of tea/coffee making facilities, kitchen area,
size of bath (we are both quite tall and couldn't fit in the bath, had to use the seat built into the bath) comfort of the bed (was quite hard, mattress was quite thin and could feel the springs) There was no remote for the tv in the room which my partner found irritating as couldn't change channel easy (temperamental buttons)
Couldn't fault the food value for moneyw
Where do I begin coffee box tasteless bed linen thin and cheap mattress very thin night entertainment very mediocre staff just about spoke not Pontins faulty noisy neighbours shouting and tv on all night
