This modern, 4-star hotel is across from the MEN Arena and Manchester Victoria Train Station. It offers a fantastic swimming pool, a gym, and rooms with LCD satellite TVs.

staff was very curt room was not clean...had dust on table, TV etc sofa was torn
We stayed here as so close to the theatre and fancied a bit of luxury. Lovely hotel, room was a good size and quite modern which was unexpected from looking at the hotel itself. Unfortunately we didn't use the restaurant do cannot comment but will do next time!
The lift was a bit rickety and a kingside bed would have easily fit in the bedroom (but that is just our preference and a lot of hotels seem to be upgrading to bigger beds now).
Friendly and helpful staff
Long breakfast queue in the morning to get in to restauarant then a long slow queue for buffet breakfast
location excellent just across road from Oxford Road station Breakfast excellent
First room had wall lights that were very loose so we were moved rooms promptly to a better room :-) Thank you for that
The unique hotel interior décor. The higher, inward facing deluxe bedrooms were very quiet and the beds were very comfortable
Breakfast is a served buffet, but service can be very slow as when busy the food kept running out waiting on fresh supplies.
Hotel reception and bar/restaurant definitely 4/5* Short walk from shops and city centre
Our room was nice but definitely not worth the money we paid for a 1 night stay. Room quite small but all in all for the time we spent in it wasn't too much of a problem.
Decent size of room
Position of bedroom floor M and no light plus takes forever to get to the room and found that the key card did not work. Room very hot but understandable with situation. Breakfast in room card not collected the night before.
Quirky rooms often retaining original features - my latest room was a turret room.
11am is a slightly early checkout
we were located near a corridor used by staff, doors banged all night so no sleep
Our allocated room was lovely. A good double bed in a comfortable room. The night time view over Oxford Road and beyond was fantastic. Hotel was chosen for it's location, close to The Palace Theatre.
Breakfast was a little disappointing. No basic cereal just healthy granola Some of the cooked items were almost cold and coffee was lukewarm..
It's a delight each time to stay. Rooms comfortable and quirky, you never know what you're going to get on the other side of the door!
Wifi connection poor. Although plenty of desk space in room, connectivity needs to be improved to support business travellers.
we were on a part business/leisure trip and this hotel fits the bill for both. we had a lovely room in the tower, albeit there was no shower.
The hotel was great, however there was a very poor selection of vegetarian options on the menu.
Near Oxford train station!
friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. large clean comfortable rooms. food choice excellent.
Location, style, price.
The history of the hotel and how it had kepi it's Victorian grandeur.Staff very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was poor. I had scrambled eggs and beans, which were cold and had obviously been out a while. Hair Drier did not work. Room 401, you could hear clearly everything that was going on outside. Decor was tired.
stayed here before, like the building, the location.
room was not ready when we arrived.when we did check in later, the guy at reception "upgraded" our standard double room to a "superior" double..which was a joke, the room was small, had old windows,it was extremely noisy even though it was on third floor.
Perfect location next to Oxford road station, Palace theatre , library, art gallery and 10 minutes walk to city centre shops and restaurants. Friendly polite professional staff. Spacious hotel, spacious bedroom. Bed king size although with 2 singke mattresses over a long size base. Comfortable pillows, clean fresh bedding. Super large bathroom with heated towel rail and endless hot water, separate shower and bath. Super soft towels, bathrobe and slippers with adequate toilet paper and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent.
No mini bar and a high charge for room service. No WiFi in bedroom, only in public areas. Single glazed Windows made it rather noisy late at night in busy Manchester. Bedroom rather cool with lack of warm bedding. A blanket or extra duvet would have been welcome. Better to have a toilet separate in a large suite and with adequate ventilation. No Windows or fire escape in uoper TV lounge and bathroom. Windows sealed firmly with paint in bedroom so no alternative fire exit apart from door of suite.
Unique building and large rooms. Put up with some rough edges and be rewarded.
Dial up internet access, quaint but useless. Thankfully a good 4G signal.
The bed was fantastic, the pillows a dream, the room fantastic value for money, it's a beautiful place and so close to the centre, if you want to the Palace Theatre it's right next door!
The breakfast was cold ! Even though it was under the lights, the room was brill but cleanliness needs looking at, edges of carpets etc
Room. Atmosphere. Staff.
When we arrived it took at least 20 mins to check each guest in. Carpet thread worn in various places around hotel. Mattress springs uneven
Beautiful historic hotel. Fantastic bar and restaurant area.
Could do with a little tlc, bedroom windows dirty and rug in reception area very worn
Staying for our anniversary & received a lovely gift in our room on arrival. Thankyou
