Score from 845 reviews Excellent
The room was lovely and the bed very comfy
The bar staff didn't seen to know what they were doing. They were exceptionally slow.
Good location for the nature of our trip. Rooms interesting and well maintained. Really interesting architectural features in the public areas.
Breakfast was very disappointing. Not much choice for vegetarians on the cooked breakfast and what there was could have been hotter. and all seemed a bit disorganised. Expensive too.
reception staff were very helpful. Period atmosphere
Bed was far too soft with a bar through the middle. Breakfast was very disorganised, many items had runout and weren't being replenished
Excellent bed, good soundproofing in 4th floor room and blackout curtains so not awoken early
The hotel runs over 3 different connected buildings with labyrinthine corridors and lifts. Better signage would have helped.
Hotel was in top location and brilliant staff
I have booked a luxury double room. And just got a basic one. When I go to reception to change room. The staff just seem not happy and still not get the lixury bedroom.
Interesting building. Staff very helpful & pleasant. Location excellent. Subsidised parking round corner. Good room rate. Special mention for Jo, Front of House - thank you.
Terribly noisy outside our 2nd floor room. Would stay again tho definitely & now know which area of hotel to request for quieter location. Staff were v understanding re the problem & dealt with superbly.
Breakfast in bed was lovely, staff were great all of the time! And hotel was lovely spec
We could hear all night people screaming and shouting outside the windows being so thin we thought they were open! Not good at all
Pretty good. Location good for what we were doing (gig at Gorilla, cocktails at Font, Black Dog Ballroom - all across the road). Cheap parking under Courtyard a 2 minute walk away.
Probably wouldn't get a room at full price. If I paid full price I would definitely expect breakfast included. For those going to bed early, student balls etc. are often ran from the hotel, can be noisy etc.
Good location but noisy at night due to location of room at front - but it is a city centre hotel so acceptable but maybe worth requesting a quiet room if you need it.
The location was fab and room modern.
our room was on busy side of road so noisy and did not sleep well. Also there was a stain on carpet and chair that needs cleaning or replacing; not a good luck.
Very reasonable and lovely lady on reception. Stunning building and room. Large with 20 foot ceiling.
It was a very noisy room- road and train noise. The water was only tepid in the morning. We had to be out early so didn't have time to complain.
The room was spacious and staff were very friendly
The shower could have been hotter, is was more luke warm.
Central and comfortable
did not include breakfast in our stay as hugely overpriced at £16 EACH !! per day. Staff too business like, could be more welcoming
I liked the rooms they were like something from most haunted
The price if the drinks 2 beers cost me £9.60 and 2 vodkas cost £13 it' was a joke the prices
The old Victorian style - bar, restaurant reception
Service at breakfast was not great
The Palace Hotel is a beautiful building, the staff are excellent and very helpful. Our stay at this hotel was a lovely experience and we would definitely stay there again .
Me and my boyfriend loved the palace hotel it was warm welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere.
There was nothing bad that we had to say about the hotel.
Massive rooms and stunning building
The beds and shower really good
Good location, lovely staff, fantastic room comfort was second too none
Food was over priced and no swimming pool
The location and the facilities of the hotel are very good - it is a beautiful building and the rooms are lovely - we have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would stay here again.
I had a tear in my sheet that my feet kept getting stuck in! And breakfast was not good - very expensive for what it was, awful coffee and cold toast.
