I was disappointed with my stay (had anyone asked when I checked out, I would have told them that, but nobody asked, either the woman who actually checked me out or the very dissheveled looking man behind the desk).
There was no room at the car park, so we registered the car at the spa and had it valeted to the overflow lot (you are required to register your car at the spa). The heat and humidity and overwhelming smell of chlorine from the pool created a poor start to our experience. Our room was on the west side, and the afternoon sun had been baking the room all day, even though it was cilly outside. We saw no sign of air conditioning and ensured that the radiator was off. We opened the windows and left the room, hoping it would cool down. When we got back at 10:30 pm, the room was still hot, so we slept with the windows open. At 5:30 a.m. I was awakened by the sound of of much glass apparently being emptied into a recylce truck. The sound went on and on intermittently for several hours. We left as soon as we could, and although both I and my 19 year old grandson tried to close the windows before we left, we couldn't.
The hotel location is great, and perhaps the river side rooms don't have the same noise and heat problems. The room and bathroom were generally clean, but there were long hairs on the duvets on both of our beds.
The location right at the bridge over the River Ness, looking across to Inverness Castle, was very convenient. There were lots of restaurants and other shops in immediate walking vicinity. The car park is small, but they have free valet service to the overflow parking area.
