A little hard to find after dark
Very welcoming and friendly, set in a beautiful location with lovely views, would definitely recommend!
Hosts very helpful and friendly, welcoming and generous. Room fairly spacious and very clean.
Value for money. I had phoned ahead to check that BBQ was available. The owner went out of his way and made sure all was set up ready for us. Friendly attention to detail.
Looked a bit rundown outside so when we arrived did not have a good first impression. I could not get wifi to work.
I think David and Ann have a really good approach to running a B and B they came out to greet us on arrival and tea followed in mins. Their grounds are picturesque and they couldn't do enough for us.our stay was very relaxing and I would recommend Palmers barn to anyone
having to leave
Friendly hosts comfortable surroundings and peace and quiet
location, owners, breakfast, everything really
Nothing to dislike
Hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and celebrate our newly wed status. They were accommodating and generous. The BnB was the perfect location from which to launch our explorations of Dartmoor and the surrounding area.
Amazing place, deep in nature, wonderful views and staff. Explore the near tamar valley and the wonderful dartmoor national park. It was a pity that we booked for one night only! Super suggested!
Nothing. Was superb!
Charm, history, food, hosts, animals, everything,. This really was a barn used for the animals working in the tin mines a couple of hundred years ago. The owners spent 8 or 9 years totally renovating and upgrading it while retaining the character and charm of the orig structure. Our favorite B&B in the UK.
Fantastic stay! Dave and ann very hospitable and loved all the little touches like Yankee candles everywhere! The view is stunning and breakfast amazing! Didn't want to leave! Will be back with our daughter !
That we had to go home!
The annex we stayed in was clean and well presented with plenty of room. The owner was very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.
Ann & Dave were very friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. Accommodation was lovely, nice shower and comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent especially the sausages.
All excellent - nothing to dislike.
the view Locality people facilities
There was nothing not to like! A warm welcome after a 5 hour drive and shown around to our room. The drive to the Barn was beautiful with some amazing sights along the way. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast and how we wanted it cooked and it was perfect. The room was big with a TV and we had our own bathroom also with some lovely smelling soap which looked to be locally sourced. There was a great selection of coffees in the room which were replenished daily along with some cakes. An ample supply of towels which were wrapped up on our arrival with a bow. The decor was amazing with some features left in the room to suggest what it once was with some wooden beams and exposes brickwork. We had a lovely view of the woods afar and hills. Tamar Trails is literally on the doorstep so if you like to walk you'll be in for a treat. There is seating outside which is so relaxing and peaceful. Near to Tavistock town centre which has markets during the week and has some lovely restaurants and pubs. My girlfriend and I loved it here and would certainly return. The perfect place to stay to see the sights and relax without a worry in the world! Thank you Anne and Dave for making us feel so welcome! I recommend the barn to anyone travelling short or long term. Couples and families. They can cater to anyone! Thanks again!
A+++++ would go back and stay their anytime again and again!!!!
Pit pony lodgings converted into comfortable accommodation with original features preserved

Great room, friendly people, lovely location, great breakfast, very accommodating.
It was a lovely setting and both myself and my 2 dogs were made to feel really welcome and comfortable.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and welcoming hosts for people and dogs alike ! Great location with Tamar Trails within easy walking distance and a nice pub to eat in nearby.
Lovely place to stay, very nice couple, and friendly dogs, highly recommended!
This rustic style house is located in a very beautiful and quiet place, Tamar valley. Very warm and welcoming place thanks so also to the lovely couple attending it
I loved it at palmers barn. Its very informal and a beautyful countryside. With loads of rabbits, some donkeys and goats near you feel like your on a farm. the owners are kind. But i most liked Silly Tilly and Bad Bruce.
