Fairly OK location
Position of toilets and showers too far from bedrooms
the hostel is very comfortable with good facilities
some travellers are unbelievably rude in talking and unpacking their bags at 2 am, the hostel really should do something about this by making it a rule that you don't talk in the bedrooms, it seems obvious really but some people don't think about others!
I have been several times before and it is the best value in London. Lovely atmosphere, well situated, very friendly, clean. Highly recommended
My food bag - oats and herbal tea - was thrown out after 24 hours to be replaced by breakfast bowls. Given the number staying why not ADD an extra shelf ?
Curtains for each bed, quite room, overall it's a good place for rest
Not much space for luggage in the room.
good beds, shower was fine (good water pressure and enough hot water available), a heater that actually worked(!), not noisy despite many young guests around, good w-lan connection in the room
bunk beds, tiny bathroom where light went off when not moving (or in the shower), couldn't lock the door
Nice room, living room, facilities and near the underground
The hostel is next to the tube station Swiss Cottage and you can reach it also by bus which work all night long. We stayed just for 2 nights in this amazing hostel and.. it was great! We slept in a double bed in a mixed dormitory and everithing was clean and perfect. The bathroom was very clean too and there was also a common room with free tea and coffee at every hour. Really a warm and cozy place to stay while you're visiting London.
I always come here when i am on business. Noelle and Sue really looked after me. Sue changed my room when requested and Noelle has been so good . Thank you very much guys...
Good facilities and good location
there was one of front desk staff, in my opinion didn't show a good attitude. Maybe that was just her character, but i think at least she could show her respect.
This is my 4th stay here and as always comfy bed, friendly staff, and a good time! Thank you Palmers for another good stay!
Sadly the changes they have made to accommodate the growing numbers have made it a bit less cozy than my first stay in 2010. The bar is in a big room and the couches and comfy seating are in another section.
hostel is very warm. the beds are very comfortable.
snoring guests! I realise it is difficult to deal with this but perhaps there should, there really should be a way...? self-declaration perhaps? it utterly ruins a night's sleep.
Cleanliness. Quiet and nice residential area.
No socialising and no events, everyone on their laptop or smartphone, even though i quickly had a drink in the bar few people were having conversation but mainly people who knew each other or group of friends. Bed light wasn't working. Portable heater in the room which wasn't working well. (Private room). The staff were just OK, nothing special.
Everything about place was good.
There was nothing I didn't like all good. Great place to stay. Near tube station. Central too get round London.
- Good connection with the tube (Jubilee line) and many buses. - Clean, organised and professional - Big community room, comfortable. sofa and free tea and coffee. - Nice building and front area for some fresh air - Free secured luggage room for those who already check-out
- The key card to open the doors didn't work probably, sometimes yes, sometimes no, so we have to ask the receptionist to re-register/open the cards many times. Same goes to internet, you need to re-enter your username/password almost every single day. - Also, it is actually a bit more expensive than many other central hostel, this is close to the tube/bus but not in the central, but it is claimed itself as boutique hostel. - The chapel bar seems to be community room + food and drink. It would be cool if it is like traditional British pub
Staff was great, walking distance to everything (restaurants, underground, bus stops), free wi-fi .
I found old nail clippings next to my bed, it was disgusting better cleaning should be done, however that was my only drawbac . Didn't complain as they were easily avoided.
I've already reviewed that hostel once, so everything is mentioned there. I really love it and soon will stay once again.
Remembered one thing: better have cash there, as for payments with card there is a 1 pound fee, plus the ATM inside has a commission of 5 pounds or smth.
The man working on reception was polite and apologetic over the huge mistake that had been made.
On arrival, our booking was confirmed and paid for. We were then informed that despite accepting the booking, they had failed to reserve us a bed. Because of this we had to get a refund and leave the hostel to look for somewhere else at 2am. Never in my experience of hostels have I seen something this unorganised and unprofessional.
The staff were friendly and the value for money was excellent. i stayed 5 nights for 100 quid, in london that is pretty amazing.
They didn't change my bedsheet for the 5 nights - that would have been nice.
The location, the environment and helpful staff. Meeting interesting people from all around the world
Very noisy with people coming in and out of the room at night, turning the light on and off. Extremely hot bedroom, difficult to cool it down. A bit smelly.
Super affordable and clean!! Close to the underground.
Didn't seem to be a lot to do right around the hostel, either had to walk over 30 mins or take a bus or train.
Everything was awesome, I won't even waste words on single things because every detail was great...!
Hahaha, my girlfriend is a neat freak and I crossed my fingers first time she went to the bathroom, and she came back with a smile! Seriously, even if I wanted to find a flaw, I couldn't!
The new bar, beds, location, breakfast
Sometimes noisy at night when people start packing for an early flight but it's inevitable.
+ Clean + Comfortable + Bed with curtains for some privacy + Bar downstairs + Simple but good continental breakfast + Located close to the Tube
- Not much, stayed just for 1 night
Stayed in room 303, cosy and Alpine
