This was the 4th time we have stayed at the palms hotel. They are friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is always very good. There are lots of places to visit close by, whether you want the sea, countryside or just to walk round the town. It is really easy to travel round by ferry, steam train driving or walking. We will definately stay there again.

The hotel is located within a five minute walk of the harbour front and is very ideally situated for access to local restaurants and shops. It is run by a lovely couple, the gentleman's name is Graham and his lovely wife's name is Judith. On arrival I was shown to my room by Graham, told about parking, breakfast times etc and then Graham very kindly allowed me to bring my luggage in through the Fire Exit to make it easier. I was also offered help with my luggage. The room was very clean and was serviced every day and on arrival you get a cuddly surprise! The building is quite old and you do hear noises like the heating and fridge clicking on/off during the night but it all adds to the homely feel. We are vegetarians and were very kindly given a lovely vegetarian cooked breakfast everyday. The hotel also offers the latest DVDs for you to watch in the comfort of your own room free of charge on the wall mounted widecreen TV with in-bulit DVD player after a hard day's walking and sightseeing! - Graham did say that you just leave a returnable £5.00 deposit. All in all, a lovely hotel, lovely staff and I iwouldn't hesitate in going back again! There is a restriction in parking with only two spaces behind the rear of the hotel and I was lucky to get one space. Towards the front of the hotel there is parking on the road which is avaialble F.O.C. between 4pm - 10am. Otherwise, there is parking 100m away from the hotel.

The hotel was particularly welcoming, with exceptionally friendly staff. The breakfast was of a very good standard, and no request was too much trouble. Staying at the Palms was a really lovely experience.

Good old fashioned b&b with a warm welcolme from owners. Clean and friendly with good breakfast. Room small but adequate. Good location being only a stones throw from the harbour and main shopping area.Owners able to provide low cost off road parking off site. Would stay there again when visiting Torquay. Footpath access to both front and back not for the faint hearted or physically impaired. Very steep pathway and steps. On road parking at front of hotel limted 2 hours during the day. Something which was not advised in hotel description.

Good sized family room with all usual facilities including a fridge which was a first for our roving holiday. Owner was friendly and helpful with any questions or requests Used the postal code for gps and it took us miles away from the acutal address, need to use actual street address and parking at the back of the hotel is only two very small parks for hatchbacks only but we were able to use both parks so our large car fitted ok.

We were made to feel very welcome and the hotel proprieters were very accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wish it was for longer. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with adequate features and facilities. The location was very good and just a short walk takes you to the harbour, beach and a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants. We were given parking at the rear of the hotel and also offered parking at a car park nearby. We would thoroughly reccommend this hotel!
