Great location, very close to central shopping/entertainment area. Can't quibble at the price for the location, nice welcome and friendly staff. Great shower and comfy bed. The only downside is the parking. Don't be fooled by the 'ample free parking available' the parking at the rear of the hotel is inadequate for anything other than a smart car or smaller. There may well be free parking at the front of the hotel, but there may just as easily not be. There is a car park facility, that whilst fine for me, if I were not so steady on my feet, or travelling with people with limited mobility, would think it's a bit far away and a bit to steep. This was the only real downside to the hotel though.

As is clear from my ticks, I was very happy with the Palms Hotel. Also it was on a good bus route, which I could use in both directions to cliff walks, to the conference I came for, and to the nearby Country Park.

Dirty rooms, dirty bed linen ,lots of steps to rooms and lethal steps up to hotel and back entrance ,you could break a leg or two easily!.Breakfast only adequate.Bar wasnt open.If you dislike cats then its not for you as they are allowed to roam downstairs.Hotel needs updating especially ensuite but most of all the hotel needs a sping clean and clean bedlinen.Overall we wouldnt stay their again, could of found cheaper accomodation and better. location to sea front and town

From the word go, Judith was extremely helpful, she even moved her car so that I could be directly behind the hotel. We were allowed the room an hour before we should've. It was really good having a key and then able to come and go as we pleased. We had a front facing room with good views and very little road noise, was really clean and well set out, and having a mini fridge was a definite bonus. The breakfast was superb and was cooked fresh and to requirements, toast, cereals, juices etc were on the side and were help-yourself style. We'd certainly go back there again. We did select the hotel for the rate, the location was a bonus, ony 300 yards from the marina. We loved it there! Not so much what we didn't like about the hotel but an advisory to others, there are some pretty steep steps at the rear so I wouldn't say suitable for toddlers, the elderly unless very active, and those with mobility problems.

The shower was very good. Hotel was situated within easy reach of the town centre. Staff were friendly. The room was very narrow and the bed was squashed in with very little room to get in or out of the bed ( a shoe's width between bed and wall ). The 'wardrobe' was old and very small.

Warm, friendly atmosphere. The room at the back was very noisy with people smoking outside the pub. Loud music was played preventing sleep. Room was very hot, even with radiators turned off which meant that the window had to be open.

Good old fashioned b&b with a warm welcolme from owners. Clean and friendly with good breakfast. Room small but adequate. Good location being only a stones throw from the harbour and main shopping area.Owners able to provide low cost off road parking off site. Would stay there again when visiting Torquay. Footpath access to both front and back not for the faint hearted or physically impaired. Very steep pathway and steps. On road parking at front of hotel limted 2 hours during the day. Something which was not advised in hotel description.

Good sized family room with all usual facilities including a fridge which was a first for our roving holiday. Owner was friendly and helpful with any questions or requests Used the postal code for gps and it took us miles away from the acutal address, need to use actual street address and parking at the back of the hotel is only two very small parks for hatchbacks only but we were able to use both parks so our large car fitted ok.

We were made to feel very welcome and the hotel proprieters were very accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wish it was for longer. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with adequate features and facilities. The location was very good and just a short walk takes you to the harbour, beach and a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants. We were given parking at the rear of the hotel and also offered parking at a car park nearby. We would thoroughly reccommend this hotel!

The cooked breakfast was excellent, plenty of cereals, toast, yoghurt, jams etc. Excellent freindly, helpful and very efficient service. Room was small but very tidy and all facilities worked and were accessible. Free parking via car park pass within short walking distance. Had a lovely stay and would return
