Apart from the shower cubicle that had some mold issues the room was clean and tidy. Don't be fooled by room images listed on the website as this is not the room you will be getting. I enquired about this at the reception and the pictures are actually the rooms called 'touret rooms' located on each corner of the building and are round in shape and considerably larger than the other rooms in the hotel. They are also more expensive. When I enquired how one can book such a room they told me you need to call hotel directly. This is quite a large hotel, there must be at least a 200-300 rooms in total I'm guessing and they probably have less than 10 touret rooms there and yet somehow those are the only ones featured in the image gallery. I would call that just a tad misleading. The reception staff appeared rather surly.

The Paragon Hotel is both well located and well priced for what you get. The staff are friendly. A good hotel if you don't intend to spend much time there. Perhaps the rooms are just a little basic.

A lovely welcoming atmosphere with excellent staff and facilities. Nothing was too much trouble. I tried an evening meal which was almost £10 and was very bland and expensive for what it was.

Staff were friendly enough. The hotel needs a good refurb, very drab and tired looking. Room smelt very damp and the ceiling had black patches of damp and the toilet leaked.I Was on a night's break with my daughter to go to a concert and was expecting a room like the premier which is always perfect so felt let down and disappointed. Never mind it was only for 1 night. If it had been for a longer stay I would have moved hotels.

the staff are friendly the hotel is very ramshackle! terrible decor and bathrooms are full of mould. the curtain rail fell down when we tried to pull them and we had to change rooms. this room had what can only be described as a bullet hole in the window! the staff as i say were very helpful but i fear they were fighting a loosing battle. if i hadn't had exams in the hotel i wouldn't have stayed there and i won't be going there next year.

I like the friendly staff and good service. The only fault I did have was that I had to close my curtains in my room had no privacy straight onto the road and everyone could see in.

I like the slightly old fashioned feel - it comes over as a real hotel with character rather than a clone version of a hundred others in a chain It is just not quite clean enough. My carpet needed more than hoovering, it needed a proper steam cleaning carpet cleaner treatment. Similarly the mould in the shower could be dealt with properly - there are loads of products on the market. It seems a waste to give a new hand soap everyday, though I did appreciate the renewing of the shower gel. Also I would have been happy to re-use my towels, but that was not an option. Cleanliness of bed and tea equipment and the room in general was fine though.

Generally helpful and cheerful staff. Safe car parking. Good breakfasts Shower was not temperatute stabilized and was painful when the gain was about 10 degrees celcius within 5 seconds. The lack of two reading lights and generally the lighitng was poor inthe room. Suggest you use a lux meter to check light levels. There was a lack of storage facilities. Never put a shelf abouve the toilet. You need hooks on te back of the door of hte bathroom. Why did light not turn off..
