Bathroom/shower/hot water Cleanliness Warm
Mattress lacked any support, you could feel collapsed springs at the side of the mattess. No friendly atmosphere, felt very clinical - white walls everywhere in reception giving a cold and unwelcoming image. Although we had a room which had been refurbished, there was evidence of damp above the window (lots of flaking paint).
Wonderful location, not to far from the city, staff very friendly during checkin. Rates very atttractive for the time of year. Bed could be replace thou and shaver outlet fixed. All in all a wonderful stay.
Friendly staff Quiet environment
Rubbish bed Not enough channels on tv No microwave
Spacious and good guest's amenities.
Bathroom looked good, but the towel rail was loose and kept falling off !
Cleanliness , I had a dirty chair full of marks. I was going to make a tea and I picked the spoon up and it was filthy, it was full of food! Put me of making a tea .
The lobby was nice
After the lobby it went down hill. 200 characters isn't enough to write what I didn't like . Just needs knocking down and starting again
Staff were friendly - lobby was clean
Room not as expected. Stains on the wall and the shower didn't work
The communal area of the hotel were in fair condition and the staff were very friendly.
The room was very dimly lit, and more adequate room lighting is needed. The bathroom sink had hair from presumably a previous guest, so cleaning needs to be improved!
Mold on walls, sagging mattress, broken shower with badly pitted and corroded chrome.Poorly lit passage ways to bedrooms and noise levels from adjoining rooms unacceptable.
Worst hotel in the hotel history. Avoid!
It was literally like staying in a squat, I have never paid to stay anywhere as bad - if it had not been late I would have moved.
Ambiance good. Nice historic building
No remote for the TV and no milk on tea tray!
I travel a lot and been to many places but never bothered writing a review but this time i was so dissatisfied and annoyed by overall experience at this hotel i had to take sone time out to write this first time ever in my life. First of all very poor light in room. Desk in room was sticky and chair was disgusting and filthy. Bed was very uncomfortable. When i tried to contact reception 3 times there was no answer. Shower was really congested and only had hot water for literally 30 seconds then i had to complete shower with ice cold water. I Do Not recommend this hotel to anyone. And i paid £75 for a night stay!!!! Definitely there was nothing in this hotel that worth that money
Location was great and parking fine. Breakfast good and comfortable bed
We had 2 single rooms on the 5th floor.Which turned out to be a bulilding site. my room had no Towel rail to hang towel,no hangers for clothes,no toilet roll holder.no spoons to stir coffee.Paint all over the windows.Television had no power. Freezing cold bathroom. My sons room was the same except he had no heat at all making his room Freezing. I asked reception to help with problems. There was no help from anyone. When i checked out i was told people had stayed in far worse rooms that night. No offer of reduced rate or even a free breakfast. We feel very let down
No hot water in the room they eventually let us use another room the following morning.
Not too far from the bull ring and easy to find Indoor car park
Bed was too hard band on till late and could hear it loud from third floor.
The staff were welcoming & helpful. Hotel is in a great location, 10 minute walk into the centre
The rooms are very poor. The smell of damp as you entered the room was very over powering & thr carpet was wet through! The staff were accommodating though, apologised and moved us to a different room which was much better, looked fairly recently done. The hotel is going through some renovation which is fine, but the rooms that are in desperate need of renovating should not be getting booked out. If we had been put in the 2nd room in the first place, this review would be very different
room was comfortable and clean. 15/20 min walk from birmingham new street station. quiet location and my room overlooked a park.
shower very feeble. whilst hotel itself gave impression of luxury, clientèle made me feel I was in a hostel. my room had an adjoining door which was a bit disconcerting.
Simple no frills room at low cost. Decent breakfast in the morning. Nice quiet bar.
No Wi Fi in my room, or anywhere upstairs it seemed Lift terminated a floor below mine which was irritating after a long day
Staff were very helpful
Lots of noise coming from another room at two to three o'clock in the morning. There was a door in my room leading to another room and I could hear them talking etc.
Room, horrible decor and poor lighting. Bathroom full of mould.
We felt really disappointed walking into the room.. It was very grubby especally the bathroom.. It was disgusting and well over priced at £75
Room and bathroom were unclean. Telephone did not work. Television did not work. Shower flooded the bathroom as water did not drain away. Radiator did not work - the room was freezing. Staff were impolite. Disturbances caused by guests in the middle of the night were not dealt with by staff appropriately. Duty manager did not offer an apology or a refund for the inconvenience caused.
The only thing I liked about this hotel was 1 male staff member that was very polite and helpful on the night of my stay.
I didnt like the first two room choices it was not of decent standard for the price i paid. I was not satidfied with 2 female staff members attitude and lack of manners.
