Its location. It is within walking distance of a few venues I like to attend :)
The miss match of light switches. And no main light only lamps
The cost of the hotel was reasonable, the location was reasonable.
Lighting in room was not ideal as no main lights. Very old building, some decor needs updating as peeling paint and some degree of damp.
Smell in corridor
Value, good room heating, bed comfortable
Bathroom very poor. Dripping shower, cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
The staff was happy and helpful.
I found used soap containers in the prison-style shower (obviously not cleaned). It's difficult to turn heating and electricity on and off. The beds were sort of made. It was overall scary.
Incredibly overpriced for what it is, uncomfortable bed, foul smelling rooms with wooden windows which are falling apart so would not advise to open which is needed to get rid of the smell. Very poor will not be staying again.
The location is good if you're going out in Digbeth, 5 mins walk from the Custard factory.
The two police vans and ambulance outside when we arrived and a policeman speaking into his walker talkie talking about an attempted rape! The place had a bad reputation if you read the reviews on some sites, I wasn't looking forward to staying as I'd read the reviews after booking. But the bed was clean and the room was clean, bits of mould that had obviously been painted over and the car park looks well dodgy but if you're just after somewhere to crash out after a night out then you can't really do any wrong. I wouldn't let my girlfriend stay there alone though.
Comfortable clean bed. Clean towels. Cheap.
Unclean shower. Needs a lot of work on the decoration and maintaining upkeep. Carpets very dirty and stained. Not enough plug sockets, had to use kettle (which was very dirty inside) on the floor due to plug socket placement. Double room but only 1 set of complementary washing soaps and biscuits. Car park very questionable safety. Noisy area. In the middle of nowhere almost in an industrial area. Staff didn't tell us about checkout. No wi-fi or remote for tv.
The shower was extremely dirty and there was no hot water, the mattress in the beds were lumpy and uneven! I am never going to stay here again
There was mould and cracks on the walls, dust, cobwebs and mould in the corner. The shower had mould in it also. I was supposed to have a LCD screen tv in my room which was promised in the advertisement however was disappointed with a 2002 Phillips box tv. The windows were wooden frames and not double glazed so a lot of air and cold came into the room which meant I had to have the heating on high. I was entitled to free wifi however when I got there they said it only worked on the ground floor, even then it was hard to get wifi. The location isn't as nice as the pictures and the views are awful, just surrounded by industrial buildings. The woman at reception was uninviting, and didn't have very good customer service skills.
In my room no hot water and in my friends room a connecting room which was unlocked with other people in that room
The price was good Staff seemed friendly enough
The location was a bit far from town and in an area that I didn't like walking round at night. The bathroom didn't look particularly clean. The room looked tired and old. Electricity didn't work when first went into the room- a man knocked on the door about 5 minutes later and rectified this. It was freezing cold at night, heater didn't come on once.
Nice clean comfy bed, Great room service Great price! Highly reccomend it!
Wifi was weak and couldnt connect, car parking was awful.
Filthy hotel, bad service. Toilet seat fell off, bed was full stains as was the carpet and the replacement quilt we recieved was stained and without a cover, wardrobe falling off the wall and no lighting in the corridoors. Dissapointing.
the moment i left !!
the worst hotel i have ever stayed in.damp on all walls , stained carpets, lights not working, door handles not attatched. i am suprised the hotel is on booking.com
Meal very poor.most things on menu not available opted for steak..had been microwaved served with one mushroom which had been deep fried and a grilled tomato & chips. No side salad or peas. Very poor quality asked for mustard got told don't have any
Mould not good, or the shower
Location was ideal for Birmingham city centre.
Staff was not professional.both receptionist was talking about there personal lifes. Also one used the f work. Shocking!!! Hotel is old and of poor condition. More like a foreign hostel. I didn't even sleep the night. I checked out and left.
Hotel feels dated and run down
The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect for meetings. Bathroom was very clean. If you want just a bed and decent wash facilities then this is great value for money.
There wasn't any Wifi, the radiator didn't work, towels had stains on them, room wasn't clean.
I booked this hotel through booking.com and got a fair priced double room for £24.
I didn't like the face that the bar closed at 11pm and there was no other way of purchasing a nightcap at the premises. The plaster and paint was falling of one of the walls and ceiling. The bed was fairly uncomfortable (hard), but better than sleeping on the floor. Door rattled all night from the wind blowing and other guests kept coming and going throughout the night. I could also hear their TV's and other nocturnal knockings. Worst nights sleep I've had in a long time. With a decent nightcap I'd have had nothing much to moan about for £24.
Dirty not clean appeared to be a lovely hotel but wasn't what I expected noisy at times and staff being loud
Location was good and the car park
I can't say really what I liked in this hotel.
Location is too dirty to believe that I am in UK. Rooms were too smelly.
Rooms Dirty, Mould in bathrooms, No light in corridor, Inter room door not lockable blocked with a heater instead. mattress on bead very worn and uncomfortable. Bed felt damp. No heat in room 209.
