Position of hotel in lovely countryside, good for walking, close to Oxwich Bay.
Welsh Sunday closing still operates.
Rustic charm, great surroundings and warm welcome. It's what it says on the tin. Great for all things rustic, Don't expect 'city' comforts and you will be fine. it's in the middle of no where ( why you should go!!!!) and a very nice nowhere........ Great rooms... Comfy beds... Beautiful building... And fun staff...
Location, overall condition of property, friendliness of staff, food (breakfast), noisy radiator at 5am, very small bathroom
Gap between window and frame you could get your finger through. Overall it wasn't worth the price.
Friendly and helpful staff, house had character, good room and useful modern bathroom with nice shower, lovely surroundings, excellent breakfast. Beautiful walk seeing the neolithic burial site nearby.
We got lost finding the place in the dark! Bit short on hot water in the morning. But those were only small things, loved it overall!
In addition to the region's beautiful surroundings and fascinating ancient history, we loved the way the local community has saved this historic building in a way that opens it to others. The horses were lovely as well. We have told many other Canadians about it.
We were offered tea in the conservatory on arrival which was a nice touch. And given a sheet with directions for a local walk which was helpful.
The breakfast seemed a bit chaotic. There were no milk jugs brought with the tea and you had to go to the buffet table with your teacup to get milk from the big jug for cereal each time you wanted a cuppa. Also there was only one ketchup for everyone so had to hunt it down whilst breakfast got cold. Breakfast was really good, having said that but these 2 simple improvements would make the experience more relaxing.
we loved it all, the owners were friendly, and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay, left to enjoy with no fuss, but someone always at hand if needed. Slept well, and full breakfast was good. Great walks, ideal just to relax and unwind.
I loved it all no faults
The property had been well restored. Inside was clean and nicely decorated. Outside were extensive gardens. The rooms were clean and neat, shower rooms very small. 1st morning there was no hot water. Mine hostess explained that they'd just had a new boiler fitted which was an explanation but no excuse. There was no real apology. Breakfast was poor really. The full breakfast was OK but little choice, no fresh fruit salad, not a 'hearty farmhouse breakfast'. The evening meal was poor.
Food generally, especially evening meal. See above for other grumbles. Not good vfm.
Peaceful and relaxing. Friendly staff and perfect location for exploring Gower. Great escape!
Setting People Opportunity to ride
Sparkling, modern shower room; good choice of cooked breakfast; the owner was always smiling & keen to help with maps & directions.
Location, delicious freshly cooked breakfast and helpful owner
The location was beautiful, nested in the forest. Clean and very quiet with a large breakfast in the morning.
The location and house were excellent, the staff very good and we plan to stay here again
My only gripe was that the ensuite could have done with being a little bigger but this did not spoil our stay in anyway
Beautiful location, lovely old building, friendly dog and a warm welcome from the Lady of the house.
Meeting the gardener on the long drive in his Y reg fiat van. Who would wave at you angrily and then stare at you in a psychotic manner.... very intimidating!!!
Good food, friendly staff, comfortable accommodation.
The location of this hotel/working farm is stunning. My husband and 6 year old daughter took a different walk each day by starting just outside the front door of the hotel, traversing the Welsh Coastal Path, the Gower Way, and other truly delightful walks. The woman with whom we primarily interacted was a terrific host. A great place for kids and their parents who love the great out-doors. Breakfast was delicious and dinners always featuring food from their gardens. Highly recommended.
Warm welcome and informality
The location was excellent, with beautiful outlook and a friendly welcome. Good location for exploring all aspects of Gower and Swansea area. Lovely old building with vary experienced host, who exhibited concern that we had all we needed. Very comfortable room with good views. Modern bathroom an the best shower any where we have stayed. Lovely evening meal on request, £18 per person.
Some staff not efficient, setting tables and remembering requests (Don't think they were family). Wardrobe in room two less than adiquate.
the setting within beautiful countryside and easy access to all South Gower beaches or into Swansea
nothing to dislike
Peaceful location, beautiful views, friendly and helpful staff.
The setting was lovely! We were able to walk to the beach from the B and B. Olive is such a warm, welcoming hostess. We appreciated the coffee/tea and biscuits in the conservatory upon arrival. The food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious, homemade, and VERY reasonable.
I can't think of a thing :) It was a LOVELY experience!
