The staff were very efficient and helpful. The room was very comfortable. I had asked for a quiet room and this was provided (apart from creaky floorboards but this was unavoidable probably due to the age of the building) We only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was delicious with plenty of choice. I could find no fault with the hotel

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room as it was spacious. I was attending a function in the Hotel and the food was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was also good It would have been good if we could and went through the hotel to get to the function room instead of having to go outside.

Very friendly staff all over the place. Warm greetings and efficient service. The hotel has some very classy areas and was well decorated. It's not set in beautiful surroundings but conveniently located for Telford and surrounding amenities.

Good location on edge of village - choice of rooms in main hotel or in purpose-built rooms adjacent to car park (very convenient). Comfort lower than previous stays due to problems with heating.

The staff were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The spa facilities were quick to reach user mode even when they were not on at arrival in the spa. (One thing here - there are no lockers for personal belongings, although there is a combi lock on the facility so only those using facility can access the changing areas) Food was fabulous, compliments to the chef! Rooms are light and airy, well appointed and have all the things one expects. The hotel has beautiful grounds so they do get lots of summer weddings so book early! Ideal location for the Ironbridge and surrounding museums just 10 mins down the road and plenty of restorants around the hotel. The spa consists of pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The sauna had loose boards on the floor boards and one of the head rests which exposed a nail - I reported both to reception so they should be mended now! The light on the steam room blew whilst we were there but to be honest you didn't need it. The Jacuzzi was pleasant temperature but could be hotter and the controls for it are unmarked on the wall so it is not immediately obvious how to turn it on. Very minor things very quickly fixed and none of which spoilt our stay or prevented our using the facilities.

Comfortable rroms which would have been excellent with a few changes. I had a bedroom and a semi-separate sitting area. Good sized bathroom. Plenty of fluffy towels. Service from staff is excellent - a check from reception soon after I settled in led to broken lightbulbs being replaced within minutes. Food very good indeed, though an aa rosette chef should have been able to dream up something more inspired for dessert than the fruit salad I was offered (I have a dairy allergy which he knew about at the start). However, the rest of the meal was really good, and the service impeccable. Their attention to detail is lacking. It's almost impossible to dry hair properly as there is no mirror near a plug. Indeed the only mirror in the bedroom itself is in a wardrobe and set too low to see one's face. Effectively the only mirror is in the bathroom which is ok if you're travelling alone, but inconvenient if there are two of you. And of course no plug anywhere near it. The room was blazingly hot, despite the thermostats being set to Frost control. WiFi charges throughout the hotel. The computers were down when I left so they promised to send my bill by email - I am still waiting over 48 hours later, despite a chasing email. Overall, the place is rather dark, despite a modern reception area.

Once you find the hotel the facilities are adequate. They have taken time to build a number of 'cottage' rooms away from the main building, some of which are designated for smokers which was my main reason for booking this hotel. The bar and on-site restaurant serve good food and ales with staff helpful and attentive without hovering. At the time of my visit the bar was very busy on a Thursday evening and it would have helped to have a more experienced person running the bar. The overall impression is that thye just need to focus on the detail a little more. Breakfast was ok but spoiled by an overpoached egg. Like many hotels they use small jars of jam and marmalade on your table and to find some of them half used was a little dissapointing. Check is was was too long a wait and could have been avoided if the receptionist called for help. After a four hour drive I didn't really want to listen to the only person available to check me in run through the wedding package options for 20 minutes on the ohone while three people were waiting to check in. All in all, not bad and good value for money. It could be so much better though.

Everything was excellent with regard to my stay at the hotel Wasnt happy with event I attended the Michael Buble tribute in my opinion he should have been singin whilst the meals were being served as when meals finished people wanted to get up and dance as their seemed to be a long wait until he stated leaving only an hour before he finished and the disco seemed to be providing the rigth sort of music also found the bar prices were extremely high (used to be a Publican) and to be charged £17 for a bottle of wine plus another £10 for 2 beers in 1 purchase and this continued througth the rest of the night

Nice old building, good location. Staff freindly but not professional. Have never stayed at such a noisy hotel. Due to big wedding parties -they should put those guests in the noisy rooms. Disco until 1 in the morning and loads of kids running around the corridors until late at night.

The hotel was booked at short notice so we had mixed feelings what to expect. We were given a room in the adjacent cottages a short walk from the hotel. We were pleasantly suprised, the room was really comfortable with just about everything you would need for a short stay. In fact there was a little too much furniture but thats a small point. I would have no hestitation booking this hotel in the future and would certainly request a cottage. Never used the spa or pool and did not eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was good especially the smoked haddock and poached eggs
