Pleasant staff decent breakfast. Good location.
Clearly attracts groups of men presumably golfers. We were woken up at 3.00 am loud utterly inconsiderate and probably drunk.
Superior room was spacious.
Shower pressure was poor. Bar staff were short measuring on pints. Would have preferred individual tea and coffee pots at the breakfast table rather than waiting for someone to pour.
Comfortable room with provision of real coffee. Good breakfast. Helpful and cheerful staff.
Coffee machine in room is good, but my coffee tasted of cleaning fluid and was undrinkable. Doom Bar beer in the bar was too cold and foamy. There must be better beers locally
The Bar man was delightful - friendly, and a good sense of humour!
very helpful staff short walk to town
Staff really helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble. The food was lovely will stay again.
parts of hotel looking tired. staff at breakfast on first morning not very welcoming...Didn't brief us on the procedure to getting breakfast...had to ask 3 times for tea and coffee, had nearly finished breakfast before it arrived..
Staff were happy to try and resolve my issue when we spoke to reception desk the following day and moved us to another part of the hotel which gave ya a much better night.
Guests staging at the hotel were very rowdy and even in the gardens water feature until 3.30am . I did complain to the night porter but nothing seemed to be done. This was the worst night I have ever had in a hotel.
Spacious bedroom, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Our accommodation was in what had been modelled to look like a row of mews houses joining onto the back of the main hotel building. There were a number of rooms in each “mews” house, our room had been equipped and decorated to a very high standard, giant bed, large bathroom with powerful shower and plenty of towels. Parking was right outside the front door. Could not fault it. Breakfast was in the main building again all superb standard with so many staff running around no one was kept waiting.
The sauna and steam room were not working, there were instructions for the steam room but without my glasses I could not workout how to operate it. We settled for a swim rather than getting dressed and going back to reception knowing we would have to wait for the rooms to warm up etc. Our only disappointment in our stay.
Had a lovely time at this hotel. Room was really nice, very clean, breakfast was lovely and filling.
No towel rail in bathroom to dry towel after use.
staff were very helpfull entertaiment was good
The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. They compensated for the down side. The hotel is charming but it does need managerial know how to alleviate the minor troubles some three other groups I met experienced as well as ourselves. The pros were more than the cons though.
Reception not signed and difficult to find from where we parked. A simple arrow sign could remedy that. There are a great many steps, some high risers, for an older person. When I had a business the premises were checked for wheelchair access. The seems to have escaped that. Had difficulty getting wi fi. No code for wi fi in the rooms. No hot water in the rooms.
warm white wine, cold water in the morning for shower, fire alarm without any information - we must go to the reception and asked for the matter, new towel nice arranged on the bed - but wet ....
In a lovely location, lovely big room cleaned to a high standard. Hard working friendly staff. Nice meal at Butler's Restaurant
Some confusion on check-in (lots of staff involved but this didn't ruin my stay etc!!) Mixed messaging relating to the mini-bar Meals overpriced in restaurant
food location staff view
I liked the food, and access to the pool
Great service and breakfast
Loved the location and the hotel was a peaceful place to stay Staff were all friendly and helpful.
food at breakfast and dinner excellent staff very friendly and attentive
spa bath was out of action and we were looking forward to relaxing in this after a long journey
The staff were very attentive, at check in and the breakfast staff, comfy cottage room!
The original room we had was inside main building, small window overlooking roof with loud air con/generator noise, small room, we complained and they soon moved us quickly to a nicer cottage room, the leisure facilities were very poor, no lockers, Jacuzzi was not working and sauna and steam rm were hardly warm so did not use any!
Reception, Bar and Garden. Breakfast very good
The staff, the room & the breakfast
Occasionally rowdy wedding guests in the late evening/early morning hours.
Good parking, friendly, no fuss
Not very well signed
