Score from 870 reviews Very good
Rude, uncaring, pretentious staff. Long queue at check in/out. Ridiculously over priced bar drinks. Despite close location to Heathrow, no courtesy bus provided. Only a cramped, payable National Express bus.
as already stated, everything was up to expectation
general condition of hotel , it looked a little tired and could do with a general refurbishment
The bed and the the room and the facilities
room smelt lot of damp....covers smelt..general condition of room bad....very unhealthy...uncomfortable...
Room clean and comfortable with good decor. Good shower facilities Man on front desk was polite and friendly
Perception was most guests were male with lots of small groups hanging around both outside and inside hotel When in room, floor two, there was lots of noise outside in corridor which made me feel uncomfortable and slightly anxious This was further exacerbated by loud TV next door. This was blaring until around 12.30 so impossible to sleep I could also hear raised voices coming from other rooms and again was anxious by adjoining room albeit irrational as it was locked! Basically as a female travelling alone, I did not feel comfortable in this hotel and would not chose to stay there again which is a shame as rooms were nice
I like the car parking, park the car and use the buses takes the stress out off driving into the city and trying to find a space, this is why I choose this hotel and for the swimming pool.
The shower was very slow at draining away.
Too much money and poor service
The suite was very comfortable, staff very helpful and location of this hotel is very close to the city centre.
Drinks too expensive that is why some guests went over to the pub opposite.
Room was tiny, you could hardly get round the bed and the carpet was so grubby I did not like to walk on it with bare feet. Corridor carpets looked like they were never vacuumed and drains in bathroom did not drain. We paid £140 exc breakfast for a room which was not worth £50. When we comained nothing was done.
impression hotel has seen better times, lack of investment
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming The bedrooms were bright, clean and comfortable
we had to take the lift rather than being able to use stairs
Not much really..
Room had dirty stained carpets. The bathroom sink,I had to empty it by prying with teaspoon, the water then came up in the shower, stinking out the room,Sat morning after a late night had a senior staff member berating the cleaning staff outside our door, would never stay again, really should have asked for a refund as it really wasn't a nice experience..
Location was good . Staff were good .
The room they gave us wasnt what we booked . Plus roo. Def wasnt up to cleaning standards which was dissapointing . As av been tbere before plus my husband has stayed tbere with work n he rec it . Im giving it one more shot on 22 nov .
Bathrooms, front room view from 3rd floor, comfortable bed, quiet. Pool and sauna, steam room and jacuzzi good to use.
Small locker space in changing room to pool/gym
no bath poor/inconsistent service warm lager in bar party in bar area until late which continued in to the surrounding rooms until gone 3am - staff did little to help awful pillows
The rooms were excellent: very clean, pleasent to be and sleep in (beds rather comfy) had all youd want in terms of facilities in them. There was a pool which was free though wasn't mentioned when i booked and neither was the bar but at a glance both looked great so will definately give both a go on my next visit. The nearest shops weren't too far and the city centre was only either a 30 min walk or a 5 min bus journey away and if your staying for goose fair (definately extremely strongly recomend going to that anual event) its the closest hotel to the site and also the best for it especially given the distance that isn't so close that your kept awake by the noise and the light but not so far that you have to walk a mile to get there. Free parking was also very handy and there was no shortage of spaces. Also given i was with a friend it was handy that they gave me two cards for my room. On the whole an excellent place to stay, definately worthy of being at least a 3 star hotel!
While there were many spaces in the car park, it didn't seem very secure and the one at the back was rather worn with many bumps. The wifi while it was free for small usage was a bit of a pain to connect to though i managed it eventually. You need a card to use the lift as well which was slightly inconvinient when you had lots of bags with you and also when you have visitors. Overall apart from these few minor details there isn't anything I can think of that made the experience significently less pleasent.
Most enjoyable stay for two nights with good food, a vast improvement on our previous stays at Nottingham four star this year.
Me and my family stayed here for 2 nights staff was very good and helpful. Location very good for city centre .
cleanliness shower facilities
pillows bar area
The room was very 'tired' and extremely small. There was no where to relax other than go to bed. I asked for room service and was told it was £3.50 delivery charge. The breakfast waitress was rude and sullen. Had I not come for the sole purpose to visit friends I would have been even more disappointed. I wanted to use the pool I was told I had to share with 'Puddle Ducks'. Not a happy experience at all. The bar in the evening was bare and austere. Not a place for a 'last drink' I will never use you hotel again. I hated it.
Close to the goose fair site and to the town centre. .
No draught drinks at the bar which was not good. .alcohol or soft drinks
Small room. Very loud air con unit right outside window. Right next to very busy main road.
The pillows and bedding. Friendly efficient staff. Handy for my work.
The room had no toiletries, dirty marks on the carpet and black mould on the ceiling above the shower cubicle. Very expensive food and drink.
Evening meal was nice.
Reception staff not friendly or very helpful. Room carpet dirty. No cold water in room Unable to shower because you could not regulate heat!! No biscuits with coffee in room.
Bathroom was nice.
Traffic noise very bad, no sleep as our room over looked busy road. Small room...had to use card key to operate lift and lights in room.
