Reasonable price and location
We used to reguarly use this hotel when it was owned by Park Inn and it was a good place to stay with a good atmosphere, it is now no longer a park Inn and the standards have dropped. It isnt as clean and has an almost deserted atmosphere to it, the bar was empty when we entered, in past stays it wasnt packed but had a good vibe and atmosphere to it, the room wasnt the cleanest, the shower had realy poor pressure and the tv only recieved 4 channels. The phone didnt work so had to go to reception to ask about the tv, their answer was i was lucky to be getting 4 channels and any more would be a bonus?? All in all was a dissapointment compared to the standards of previous visits when it was still a Park Inn.
Large space, with great facilities
Restaurant needs to Bea wee bit more classy got fit in with the rest of the place.
hotel is clean and quiet
coffee and sugar but no cattle, no change for sheets even no one come to the room, the receptionnest do not answer because they have to serve some one in the bar, and other things
- grande chambre familiale (big family room) - salle de bain propre et moderne (clean and modern bathroom) - appartient maintenant à Holiday inn (belongs now to holiday inn) - parking gratuit (free park) - goog value for money
- attention car stade à côté donc certainement bruyant les soirs de match (be careful because it is located next to a stadium. Maybe noisy during a match)
It was clean and modern.
The facilities were a bit limited, for example, there was no vending machine and you're a long way from a shop, but ok for one night!
General ambience and cleanliness of the hotel. Made even better by the staff.
Shower flooded bathroom when on.
Bacon was not available at breakfast and when I asked I was told 'we don't do bacon'
only choice of sausage beans and a funny looking scrambled egg.very poor
Poor breakfast. Low quality, limited choice.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was lovely and clean
The evening meal choices were very restricted and the quality of the food was not as good as expected.
everything we needed for short stay PILLOWS WERE APPALLINGLY HARD we'll see what it is like under Holiday Inn Express!
no full English breakfast just scrambled egg & beans
Clean, nice hotel
Informed staff that people running up and down corridor banging doors etc not interested when told them on first night. Same thing happened on second night, came down to reception at midnight to complain again and was offered to change room!!!!!!!! At midnight with children
Beds we're comfy, friendly staff and close distance to amenities
Several spiders found in room, one towel was stained and hand wash and shampoo were other way round.
Helpfull service and very clean
comfortable beds large shower room , nearby facilities. Overall it was very good even though in the process of changing hands.
although the room was for a disabled traveler, the soap dispensers were impossible to work and the hairdrier also had a button which had to be held down while in use which would be impossible for anyone with arthritis.
Clean reception area Nice room
It is quite a distance from the races so taxi cost a bit - should have a discounted rate setup with the hotel. Fire alarm light kept flashing, wasn't too much of a annoyance. Room bathroom area hadn't been left with soap, towels or toilet roll.
Room not made up overnight. Informed by reception that no soap/shampoo in room because owners have "stopped supplying it" - thanks for that - first time in 40 yrs no way of washing
room size bed and pillow good shower good double glaziing
no air con no soap children running up and down corridor cost of breakfest
The general decor and appearance of reception and the room gave an initial excellent impression. It couldn't be more convenient to the stadium and the wifi worked well-plenty fast enough to stream iPlayer etc.
On our floor when we arrived, there were plates etc outside of the room which were still there when we checked out the next day. The light switch above the bed was broken and potentially dangerous. The tea/coffee bits were stingy - eg only 2 white sugar sachet and 2 tea bags. I'd got my own, but if anyone was expecting shower gell/etc then they'd be disappointed. There was no info provided in the room about the services - no menu for room service, no indication of any other services. The TV had a section set up to provide this, but the info hadn't been put in and instead it gave a sales pitch for the interactive system...which sounds like it could be good once they do configure it! The view at the back was disappointing, nothing bad but just dull. The pillows didn't give a choice of firm/soft which we'd enjoyed the night before in a much cheaper hotel (which was also much friendlier and had much better breakfast options, especially for vegetarians like me!). Speaking of which, the breakfast facility was tiny and had very little choice for vegetarians, especially for a cooked breakfast. The scrambled egg wasn't the worst I've had in a hotel (that honour goes to a much more expensive place in London) but they weren't great. The beans were practically turned to mush from over cooking, and the auto toast machine (like everyone's) made a hash of making decent toast leaving some bits a little burnt and most hardly touched. The tea/coffee was your standard machine affair, but with a poor layout leading to even that being a poor experience. Overall, barely worth £1 rather than 8x that. Lastly - the staff - they weren't bad, but partially because the cheaper place we'd stayed in the night before had shown how good and friendly hotel staff can be, they were a little disappointing for the price of the room.
Cot not in room on arrival. Room in a poor state of repair. For £100+ a night, I would expect far better.
Room was clean and a good size.
Being woken up at 7am by people next door who sounded like they were in or room (paper thin walls), then being woken up again at 9am by house keeping attempting to enter the room without warning and then housekeeping returning at 10am and tutting as we informed her check out wasn't until 11am and we did not need her services. Rude and unnecessary.
After being bought out by Holiday Inn Express but not in running order it clearly shows they are in limbo at the moment. Very limited evening menu and absolutely ridiculous breakfast at £10 - no bacon, 3 hot items, not good enough for that price...
The mattress. It was very soft, had a delve in the middle and was lumpy. There were a number of new mattresses stacked in the corridor but they hadn't put a new one in the room that I stayed in! The staff weren't bothered when I left and after I e-mailed the manager, the response was that I should ask for a new look room when booking next time. Disappointed that I wasn't offered a refund, partial refund, or free stay next time I visited the hotel.
Staff helpful and attentive. Served its purpose for us for one night.
Fresh paint on walls and looked like new furniture - re- vamped room however the bathroom floor had a few hairs on the floor and also the metal holed drain between the shower floor and rest of bathroom was broken and my daughter cut her foot - not badly but it should be fixed. The sink leaked and got your feet wet when the water was running.
