Dirty, no curtains, no toilet in room, couple of inches of mould on skirtings, piece of cloth on one windows and nothing on other, shower only cold water, door to room didn't open properly, stairs up to room dangerous if there was a fire I am sure you wouldn't get out, I hope I don't get charged for this review, as got overcharged by £5 for the room, didn't stay for the free breakfast wonder why????
Hotel staff is good helpful
I m not happy about two small towel and small soap and no wiffi for use my tablets and no subtitles on TV and no breakfast and they never told me repair at hotel thank you
Cheap, good location, staff friendly, 24hr reception enabling you to leave your key behind reception while out on the lash. No hassle off the staff. Breakfast was decent. I would return
Holes in the ceiling, no hot water, matteress to short for the bed , no springs left in the bed-pikeys must of had them away. Absolutely grotty
Nothing. Arrived at the hotel to be be moved down the road
Where do I start! Arrived At the hotel to be moved Cold showers No wifi
i like that they take your request
we ask for a cab for morning and they forget to do so
It was scruffy even from the outside it was a mess I'd never stay again
The staff were friendly and the room was clean
The hotel was a mess, basic items like soap and towels were missing. Tea, coffee and toast were missing at Breakfast and the entire hotel was a complete state.
Everything, I dont recommend this place at all.
no tv in the room it was doing the hotel up horrible treble wont stay there again not fit to let my cat stay there either
The staff were helpful and the breakfast was adequate.
There were no bathroom facilities, they were out of order, the halls were poorly maintained and dirty, the room was not furnished sufficiently, the only usable toilet had only one hinge on the door and had to lifted to shut or open it, the toilet was dirty, the room had the sign directly out side the window so it was as bright at night as it was in the daytime, I only ever saw two staff during my stay, and only one on at any time, to switch off the light for the room you had to get out of bed, there was no bedside switch or lamp, the bed had some kind of plastic cover under the sheet so the sheet slid about causing an uncomfortable nights sleep. The WiFi kept cutting in and out so much and so frequently it was unusable.
what is the point in having breakfast so early, if people want to have a lie in they have no chance of claiming there breakfast, just so you use this to the hotels advantage so less customers try and get the breakfast, its quite dissapointing to be honest, but asside from that nice hotel, welcoming staff, all around A Okay place to stay !
Cont bed Carpets dirty No card payment facilities Update the hotel
Everything Oh breakfast was ok
Had nightmare stay TV in room didn't work I then decided to get something to eat came back and lights didn't work so no TV no lights informed the clerk and he said they were booked but had I room available but had water under the bed from a leak from the radiator I checked it and there was plenty of warter under the bed but the lights worked but TV didn't, the room was cold so I asked the clerk where is the radiator.....there was no radiator in the room! So I had a choice room with no lights but heat or room with lights and cold. I said to the clerk it's 11pm and I still have to do work on the laptop and this is unacceptable he informed me that I could stay at the sister hotel up the road and it was only 5 minutes walk, so I took my 2 heavy luggages and my bag and after a 25 minute walk at around 11.30 in the evening on "safe London road" I got to the hotel, upon check in the room the radiator didn't work and no internet! Finally at 12.30 I gave up and slept with my clothes on and used my long big coat as an extra blanket. I have never ever come across a business that is run so badly, I told both the clerks at both hotels this, I don't blame the clerks as they just work there, I even informed them this and ironary in this is that I am from USA and was here for a hotel conference in Leicester I am a hotel broker in Chicago! And I told the clerks this. I am an indian myself and both these hotels are owned by South Indians. This is not a matter of ethnicity but purely business standards both of these hotels would not be allowed to remain open under these standards in any state in the states. There has to be laws put in place for owners who just want to make a quick buck and do no renovation. Both hotels have hand written signs stating they are under renovation however in my opinion these signs are just a way of an excuse for the poor condition of both hotels.
The location is central
The hotel is in a desperately rough state!
It wasn't cold, bed was clean
No key, messy, leaking floors, plaster everywhere, rude staff, bed obstructing hallway, poorly furnished, minimal parking, unhelpful staff,
On arrival, having booked the hotel over a week previous and no notification, the staff said they were booked up and under renovations. After being asked to move to another hotel, under the same management, we politely declined and asked for a room to be organised as it was close to the town and did not want to move further away. We had 2 rooms booked, 1 room for 2 people and a 2nd room for 3 people. After waiting 20 minutes we were given 2 sets of keys for our rooms. On arrival to one of the rooms we were greeted with water dripping from the ceilings directly on to the bed. The second room only had a 1 bed in it and that was not what we requested. We returned to receiption and explained the situation. We were told that we could go to a room with extra beds but we would be charged £5 per person for this. We politely declined and explained that we did not wish to pay more money for rooms we had already booked and this was the hotel's issue. Eventually the rooms were sorted. One room was pleasant, the other was a throw back to the 70's, single glazed windows, over looking the road. For the price we were paying you can not be too critical, but the service and time wasted by the management was laughable.
Actually really angry that this place is on a hotel comparison site. Granted i wasn't expecting a palace, but it was unfit for humans. i would worry about my dogs health if he stayed in this place. Saying it is in a state of refurbishment is a blatant lie.
Would not recommend ANYONE stay here, worst place I have experienced!
Bed was comfy Location Bathroom good size Value for many
Smelt of garlic Breakfast on a weekend only availiable for an hour Needs to be refurbished ASAP Parking was rubbish and difficult
Nice large hot shower Quiet room Comfortable bed Clean & tidy room Breakfast quick & tasty Staff nice & helpful
The pictures online do not actually show the sheer state that the hallways and other rooms downstairs are in. No lift & so many stairs. The stairs were very rickety and in poor condition so little bit worried about having to go up three flights of them! Some towel rails or hook hangers on backs of doors and bins in the room wouldn't go amiss. Not enough tea and coffee accessories and had to go downstairs 3 flights to get more. Old rotten damp wooden windows that need replacing, wouldn't want to stay here in the winter months.
stank, dirty, no light in toilet windows black with dirt, no bathroom on the 1st floor. would not stay here again even if it were free. dump.
Paint flaking on outside of building. Carpet in reception badly stained and damp, dirty smell. Guy in reception slightly intimidating as were evening staff. Stair banister filthy. Toilet door had huge crack looked like it had been punched in. Holes under sink where pipes were. Front coming off power point. Bare light bulb in bedroom and bedroom door lock very dodgy. Had to put chair against door to ensure no one could get in. Didn't stay for breakfast as afraid of food poisoning. B&b of nightmares.
Breakfast was awful. They had no 4 person rooms left so they had to split up our group at other ends of the hotel. Would not recommend this hotel.
