We have stayed here before 7 years ago.It has had a make over since we last stayed and is well appointed, good location, good price good breakfast. No more to say
This hotel seems quite basic at first glance and furnishings are not very up to date, but it has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Very clean and staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is up a steep walk from the Main Street but it is a very quick and convenient location if the uphill climb doesn't bother you.
TV was quite small and sound wasn't great, but we were out most of the time so not a big issue.
Superior Room was spacious and comfortable with reasonable view down to the harbour. Breakfast was very good.
As teh hotel was maybe a little bit away from the main street the bar and restaraunt were a bit quite at night. Most people seem to visit the pubs and restaurants down at the harbour.
The provision of a packed lunch if you had to leave the hotel early.
The noise level from the room above. The shower didn't work properly. Poor ambience. Tea and coffee poor quality. It was basic facilities for a huge price. No staff on reception at all times.
Friendly welcome, good food and wines at decent prices, comfortable room with well-supplied bathroom, free parking, central location.
Not hotel's fault, but steep climb up from harbour.
location - interesting position to drive to price - not expensive quiet This hotel has potential it just feels unloved.
hotel wing smelt musty tiny TV small room for 2 beds - superior room.
veggie food options
Staff very friendly & helpful. The food was excellent and room was very comfortable
Good Location, kind employees, clean room
room was small with poor furniture, the door turn was damaged, only the key was function-able. The hotel can be much improved with small changes.
Lovely, welcoming staff. Great breakfast offering too.
Close to town , a five minute walk down a quite steep hill. Everything required at hotel , food , drink and parking. Friendly informative staff. Good value for money
staff were lovely, bar was nice to sit in
room was a bit dated, bed coverings were cheap, food not good
Staff very friendly and welcoming, bar prices were fair.
The place is in need of an overhaul all looks a bit unloved; the rooms are tiny and fittings cobbled together. The breakfast was okay but pretty much straight out the freezer or tin. Very expensive for what it offers.
Breakfast was good
Breakfast was only available for 1 hour, between 8 and 9. The room was far too cramped to use as a double and it didn't represent value for money. Bathroom was fine.
Every thing was clean
The hotel is needing refurbished and all the clutter in the dining room removed it's all very dated this hotel deserves better than that dining room very dated and dingy no atmospher every I am sorry we are fully booked now for that weekend I do apologise I hope your daughter can get in at the place in baillieston if I have any cancelations I will let you know .regards Helen Auchenlea Guest house Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPad one is going elsewhere for food in the evening
Friendliness of staff Accommodation was clean and rooms spacious
TV didn't work and WiFi was awful. Probably exaggerated by the fact that the World Cup was on!
The staff were most friendly, breakfast was good and with quick service.
The dining area
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
leaving the car in a public car park overnight.
Friendly staff, facilities and comfy bed.
the worst I can say....no view from the room.
Could be seen in the bedroom by people arriving or leaving hotel. It meant we had to have curtains closed in daylight hours. Hotel decor tired and rooms especially need updating.
Friendly staff. They even helped to carry one of my bags to my room. They stored my luggage for leaving till evening. The breakfast (full Scottish) was great.
No shampoo in room. Maybe that's common. Small bed but certainly adequate.
friendly staff Good breakfast Located close to harbour and all shops and restaurants
room very small for 2 people
