Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London
Westminster Bridge Road, Lambeth, London, SE1 7UT (Show map)
“Location is one of the big highlights of this hotel. Just a few hundred yards ahead you have a fully wheel-chair acessible tube station, which is great if you have strollers (or pushchairs), the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. If you like to walk a little further, you have easy access to most of London touristic sites, including Buckingham Palace, and the wonderful West End, and Trafalgar Square where The National Gallery is located. Room is way too modern, which is really beautiful but some functionality is missing, for example, with special lighting, you push different buttons for "reading" , "off", "full". The big problem is, they could have a special illustration to teach you all the lights set-ups because trying to figure out all the lighting is kind of tough, so your partner could inadvertently turn your bathroom lights off when trying to put your children to sleep... We got a big bedroom and a living room, facing outside, which was ok but across the street there was a really big lighting board of another hotel from under our window and the other hotel also had transparent windows where you could see inside the rooms facing ours, so we really had to use a black out curtain provided to get some privacy. No signs again indicating if our windows were transparent too... Another caveat is that if the bottles of drinks, water or sodas were moved in the refrigerator, an automatic system would immediately charge your room for it, which I think that is really not necessary for a luxury hotel like this is supposed to be. The bathroom is wonderful, with a full bathtub, water pressure excellent. As we have two little children, after two nights we had to ask for two extra towels, and I supposed we would get four sets of towels every time the room was changed and that we had used all of the towels, but for the ten days we have stayed at this hotel, we always only got two sets of towels, which obliged me to ask for them every time, which I think was a hassle. The staff of the hotel was really very polite and accommodating, we had our check in early, which was really helpful after so many hours of flight. The TV system was ok, except that there is a submenu on it that allows you to see your bill, which is completely confusing, we had to check up with reception how could it be so wrong, and we were informed that we should not really bother with this, but I really think that it should be removed. And finally, the food at the hotel was absolutely great, we ordered a lot through room service, and everything was delicious.“
