Tiny bathroom only big enough for tiny people!

Park View Guest House is conveniently located about ten minutes walk from the inner City area of York, close to the Minster. The staff were friendly and approachable and there was car parking off road which was available up until 15.00 on the day of departure. The room was small but adequate and found to be clean on arrival.

The en-suite bathroom was very small and only just about practical. The tv reception in the room was of poor quality. Although the service was friendly, it would have been better if staff serving breakfast had been more appropriately dressed rather than in very casual wear, in one case sporting a tea cosy hat.

I had 4 or 5 phone calls asking what time I would be arriving. This was because he was going shopping and wanted to know what time to get back! The room was small and fairly clean but we had no hot water at anytime. Breakfast was fried and greasy. We only had it once.staff were friendly. But didnt seem to have much idea as to how to run such a place. Wont be going back

Modern decor, nicely decorated and very clean. Excellent value for money. Staff friendly and helpful.

Ensuite was tiny, barely room to turn round - but again very clean and modern. Mattresses ok but perhaps could do with updating or mattress protector.

Staff seemed rather tired and would have preferred to be elsewhere.

The staff were warm and welcoming each morning at breakfast time and each time you came back from being out for the day.

As its a small bed and breakfast the water supply was used quickly by other guests, we had to wait most mornings for hot water to get showered.

Very pleasant staff . car parking a bonus. Very clean. Would definitely stay again certainly value for money.

En suite was a little small but not a problem as such.Had initially booked a double room but was offered twin on arrival due to a water leak in room booked. However didnt spoil stay at all.

The staff were very pleasant and attentive. They were very quick to resolve a couple of minor glitches with the parking and heating. Breakfast was the usual mixture of English breakfast and/or cereal, however what was very welcome was the fact that there were plenty of vegetarian options in the hot menu for those of us that don't eat meat. All in all it was a pleasant experience at a budget price.

The room was nice and comfortable.The breakfast was good and the staff attentive.

A noisy boiler kept us awake all night. Sounded like it was filling up all the time and made a constant loud noise throughout the night.

Attending York for my son's graduation, I booked the Park View Guest House because of its central location and free off-road parking facilities. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly. They also very kindly allowed me to keep my car parked on their site until late afternoon, whilst my party attended the graduation ceremony. Whilst the guest accommodation was not luxury standard by any means, it was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the proprietors were very attentive. It's an ideal base as it is only a 10 minute walk to the Minster.

The only minor gripes I would have would be that the bathroom sink did not have a plug and one of the hand towels was stained. The towel had obviously been laundered and was fresh, however, it was stained.
