they charge you extra for things you never ordered, rude receptionist who was confrontational and slipped out that hotel is in administration and CCTV is not working, expensive food and bar, hot rooms, showers don't work, I had to cancel my debit card for peace of mind, will never stay there again. Awful experience.

The bathroom was nice with good quality toiletries. The bed was actuallly comfortable. Being at the back meant it was nice and quiet. Staff were polite and helpful £62.00 for B&B appeared a fair price. However there weren't any matteress or pillow protectors on the bed so they were stained. The window which was round the back & could be accessed via the ground floor roof had been forced in the past & couldn't be secured. We left the tv on and closed the curtains when the room was unoccupied. There wasn't a toilet brush the extactor fan didn't work The tray had a domestic sized kettle but the cups were small. The door chain was broken. Metal tongs were provided to put bread in the electric toaster!! A pop up toaster was one for staff to use really - the conveyer belt type one is better for public use. No vegatarian sausage available & no sign advising that they could be requested.

Manager at least tool time to listen to our issues and try to address them. Beautiful listed building. Whole place needs major renovation. It does not love up to its description as a spa hotel. We had two rooms, both in need of repair and maintenance. High speed Internet access, supposedly available in all rooms, was not accessible in ours. 24hour room service was unable to provide still bottled water at night No lift!

Rooms are quite spacious and quiet The mattress on my bed was very poor indeed. You could feel the springs inside and I hardly got a wink of sleep. Had the mattress been of a reasonable quality I would highly recommend this hotel, but as this is one of my worst hotel experiences because of this I can't encourage anyone else to stay there.

The food in the resturant was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately I probably wouldn't go back there. The staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing, there was a wedding in a hall right next to where we were eating and the music was so loud we had to move tables. Also, the room temperature was very cold (quite sure that the heating wasn't on). We also asked for a wake-up call and we never received it. The Spa pool and facilities could have been ok, but there is no monitoring of kids in the pool and we had to put up with teenagers dive-bombing into what is a rather small pool, meaning it was hard to relax.

The bar area and reception areas are very nice, but the restaurant lacks atmosphere although the breakfast was on the whole very good. The room was tired and sorely in need of a revamp along with the corridors. The phone in the room did not work and was changed. The chamber maid took our personal towels which the hotel are attemting to rectify although their first attempt was scandalous in trying to fob us off with dirty and wet hotel towels from another guest. Disgusting!! Asked for tea at breakfast and on returning from the buffet found two cups of black liquid on the table. Why no pot!!! And it certainly was not like any tea I have ever tasted. Altogether not good. I was sorry that I had extended the stay to two nights before arriving at the hotel

Stayed at hotel night of works christmas party at hotel, thought it would be easier at the end of th evening. The various parties at the hotel finished at 1am and many people were still around the bar area until 2. the terrible noise outside and around our room - drunken young lads, shouting, swearing, banging doors, running up and down and play fighting- this went on until well after 3.30 in the morning. We phoned down to reception twice about this. We decided to stay over night so it would be easy to get to sleep after our works party, no travelling or hanging around for taxi's, but we only managed to get a couple of hours sleep, and if we had not had a drink would have checked out and drove home. This was upseting and when we spoke to hotel about this when we checked out Saturday morning, someone got back to me on the Monday, not very sympathetic, saying it was not the hotels fault, and was out of their control who stayed there. I understand this but find it difficult how a group of drunken yobs could have ebeen allowed to cause such problems for over an hour, without being stopped.

Honestly, it was such an awful experience from check in to check out that I cannot identify anything that I can say I liked. Originally I felt it was good value for money as I got a cheap deal for a 4 star Spa hotel but it wasn't even worth the money I paid on the cheap deal. As i'm limited for words I'll try to keep it short - the hotel staff were rude, abrupt and very unhelpful. The rooms were too basic for 4 star and very cold. Heating was not sufficient and it's not acceptable to have to sign out heaters. The water pressure was so poor I couldn't run a bath and the bathroom too cold for a nice shower. The beds were uncomfortable. Maid service walked into my room even though I had the do not disturb sign on the door. I had my car damaged in the car park and was told the cctv does not cover the place where it was parked. The next excuse was that they do not have the facility to play back the tapes. Finally, I was told to go to the police. Anything but helpful. They should not advertise as secure. I think this hotel gives the Ramada chain a bad name and I will not stay again. There is a 2 star hotel close by which far exceeds this place. I'm beyond disappointed - appauled in fact.

Good setting Bathroom not heated but staff very good at sorting out a new room with a heated bathroom. Really noisy loud disco music at 6.30am thumping from nearby woke me up early and disturbed the morning. Breakfast room filled with 'canned' chrstmas music far too loud. Staff helpful in reducing the sound levels. But do not understand why there is a need for 'canned' music. Would much prefer a quite hotel.

Friendly staff and good food, location excellent and very quiet. One of the twin beds was broken quite badly unfortunately we did not discover this until we went to retire at around 11pm by then we were too tired to make an issue out of it but my wife had an extremely uncomfortable nights sleep. We did metion it at breakfast the next morning, and were just told that new beds were being ordered for the hotel.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Plenty of parking. I didn't use the spa or restaurant facilities only the accommodation. Condition of the accommodation was poor, as you walk down the corridor to the rooms it looks shabby with pictures at jaunty angles and the fire alarm bell hanging precariously off the wall. The room on first viewing was clean and functional but the bed had obviously seen better nights and this proved to be the case, slanting down towards the wall and uncomfortable, not a good nights sleep, compounded by the fact that a fire door outside the room, when opened, would bang closed. Sunday morning, no lie-in possible, not good preparation for a long days work. There was plenty of hot water but the shower was obviously installed by a "less than average height" person, I am of average height and had to stoop to wash my face when showering, let alone attempt a hair wash. This place needs a re-furb, I won't be returning in a hurry
