The location to the Berkshire Independant Hospital was great. The price was very good. Best of all was the food served in the restaurant, both myself and my husband enjoyed that. He had the lamb and said it was tender and full of flavour. I had the chicken and that to was very good. If it was a local hotel to where I lived I would definately use it as a restaurant. When we got to our room we found that there was no tea/coffee available. We asked at reception and were informed that it would be rectified. After dinner we went back to our room and it still had not been done. We had to ask reception once again and it turned up about 15 minutes later.

It was very clean and friendly, there was a lift to the rooms, and the location was ideal for visiting relatives and also sailsbury and stonehenge. Parts of the building were not finished off on the side. There was no greetings folder with information how to use items in the room, i.e. that the 'key' (a card) turned the electricity on in the room. We found out pretty quick but it could have been confusing. In the bathroom the walls were not finished off to the floor, and there was no waste basket in there. Also in the bathroom the shower curtain rail was rusty and the curtain was mouldy. The heating was noisey comming on at night and first thing in the morning but didnt disturb me. l was very happy to pay £84 for my night with breakfast but l would not have been happy if l had paid £120 which was the correct price.

The only thing that I will fail the hotel on was lack of information about the on site facilities, bar ,restaurant , there was no information to hand in my room, or if room service was available . It was quiet, clean and comfortable , and I was surprised to find a bath in the bathroom, very unusual for a hotel, was a welcome treat to soak in !

What did I like? Nothing. Staff rude and intimidating resorting to strong arm tactics. Check out one day early as was too frightened to stay another night, Appaling someone needs to take a serious look at this hotel and the methods they employ. What dont I like? Staff rude and aggressive, Rooms - mould on shower curtain and tiles. Shower spluttered out when it decided to work. No hairdryers in room despite website advertising that there was. Room door would not lock. No literature in room at all. Food mediocre and terrible service - did I mention staff rude? Avoid this at all costs.

The room was comfortable enough. The location was good and very quiet as I had asked. I was disappointed with the cleaning of the room. There was rubbish around the bed and the shower curtain was filthy. The curtain (on the window) had some hooks broken. I could feel the smell of cigarette from another room. I couldn't work out the television set so I couldn't change channel.

You have this hotel down as a 4* which is why I chose it. It is more like a 2*. Advertising evening meals, when I went down bar and restaurant closed. No hairdryer in room, could not use bath as no plug. Food was mediocre for breakfast. In all it was a shambles and not worth the money spent. I was seeing my son into University, and wanted a special last few nights, but this was a diaster, the only thing going for it was it had a room and a bed. The staff were cold, unhelpful and it was a far cry from the advertising. The basement was a building site, in all it was awful.

Free internet plugging in an rj45 cable. There was a nice desk also. The bathroom light was always flickering, and when I was shaving forcing the light's plastic cassing was the only way to keep it on. The was an annoying dripping noise heard from room 320 but it didn't keep me from sleeping. There was slight smell of tabacco smoke when we arrived at the corridor, but our room didn't smell of tobacco, although it did have a strange sent, but nothing to worry about. The remote control wasn't operational.
