Accomodating and very friendly staff. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Although we were late the staff were happy to wait for us to arrive and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed a second night as we were so impressed.

It was a very cold night and only one fire was lit. I did think that the fires in the bar and other rooms could have been lit as well. I would have helped the atmosphere as well as the temperature!

we couldnt fault the hotel really except that we were given a small room where we struggled to fit 2 hand luggage size cases in, we were there for 2 nights and each night we could hear the people talking in the next rooms. so need thicker sound proofing needed. breakfast is brilliant and the owners were excellent hosts. located on a quiet road with views of the countryside, well located with a short drive into marlborough.

We needed a bed for a night so that we could attend a wedding near Marlborough. The room was very small, very warm, very comfortable and had everything that we needed, although we do prefer to have a bath. The chocolate brown synthetic bedspread and cushions gave a very bad and cheap first impression - I would change to white or cream cotton to give a more luxurious feel..

Convenient location for overnight stop enroute to bath then wells. Lovely cosy small hotel very welcoming on cold winter day. Comfortable room followed by lovely choice of cooked breakfast before we set off again on our travels. Will definately use again and recommend to friends.

It was a friendly little hotel so convenient re our visit to family. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and the choice of breakfast menu catered for many tastes. Dining room was clean and welcoming. In all offered good value for money. Our room was rather small but otherwise fine clean and comfortable.

Friendly reception and easy check in led to a very relaxing visit. Food was excellent with good value portions although the menu could have been more varied offering more choice. Not a complaint, but in contrast to the room the bathroom was rather spartan and could do with warming up a little.

This was an excellent, well run hotel, especially for the money. Everything was clean, though small, and had all the necessary facilities. The breakfast was also excellent and included in the price. We had water in our rooms together with tea and coffee making facilities. A detail that other hotels that we paid 3 times the amount did not have.

Breakfast! The room was a bit on the small side - fine for a normal weekend break but we could have done with a bit more space as we had luggage for a longer trip!

Excellent staff: Friendly, efficient, and helpful. Interesting to talk with. Excellent food: Tasty menu selections, packed lunches too. Excellent accomodations: Clean room, comfortable bed, great water pressure and warm shower. Clean lounge. Friendly atmosphere. Location is near the Ridgeway and easy to get to from trail and highway. Great value for the money. Menu seemed a little pricey, but the taste and quality of the food justifies the price. This chef can really make a great meal, whether you're eating in the restuarant or getting a sack lunch for the road. Again -- it may cost a couple pounds more than a pub, but the meal is really worth it.

This is a lovely hotel in wonderful surroundings. The couple who own are very professional and friendly and the facilities are very good. They stock bottles of the local micro brewery real ale, very nice for a camra member. The rump steak was the best I have had in years and the breakfast was also very good.
