The breakfast and location and reception area I paid for the Superior room, yet there was nothing superior about this. The carpet did not look clean, and the door was stained, and there was a carpet burn on the carpet. In fact is room 502 a superior room? As I have stayed at the Park Plaza years ago, and I paid for a basis room then, and found the room to be better than the room I stayed in. I think the carpets look quite dirty and spoilt throughout the hotel, and the doors need a lick of paint. It was not 4 star quality. Please can you confirm what benefits the Superior offers to what a basic does, as I wish I paid for a basic now. ?

The location is great, right near the train station and in the middle of where we wanted to be. From the outside and the main entrance the appearance is very modern and cool. So when we found the room for a cheap price we were excited. Once we got to our room we found ourselves disappointed you can get rooms of a much better standard in hotels for jut a few more pounds. The room was very plain, the layout could have been better, design more modern like the entrance, there was an iron mark burnt into the floor. And we had room service enter our room opening our door without permission. Then when we did order room service the man- who didn't speak very good English didn't even know what diet coke was. Overall a disappointing experience.

Sitting in the street level bar and looking at the world go by after a good noight out on the town. I did not appreciate this hotel. When I booked the room I was impressed and influenced by the photograph which accompanied the description of the "Superior room" I booked. However, what we were provided with was vastly different to the advertised room. The instant we walked out of the lift on the eigth floor, we feared the worst, The carpets in the lobby were filthy. It looked as if a herd of cows had stampeded through.. When we got to our room our fears were realised, it was shabby, with dirty carpets and furnishings. When I complained I was told the hotel does not have Superior Rooms, only excecutive or ordinary. My advise that my booking confirmation noted Superior Double Room was ignored. I was offered a 10% refund or a bottle of wine. Even the wine provided was cheap. I go to Leeds many times, as my son lives there and each time I try a different hotel. My advise to any one reading this report is do not give the Park Plaza the benfit of your custom and money, unless you wish to experience what a utterly bad 4* like is like. Try the Mint, Queens or Metropole if you wish to get good value for your money.

Good for couples and families very modern and comfortable nothing cheap about it, Power shower was very good. Bed was comfortable in lots of pillows :-). You can ajust the room tempreture to how you would like it and we didnt relise till it was time to leave. Staff were very nice and friendly. Im Superised that for such a good modern hotel they still have crt tvs and not lcd's. Rooms have a fridge in them with Goods from the hotel which are not included in room price but very expensive £2.50 for a can of cokacola what a rip off!!! Car park is about a 5 min walk from the hotel and you have to go through lots of 1 way streets to get to the hotel in the city centre ;-( But i would love to definatly stay here again but only if the price was right as its a very expensive hotel to stay in.

The location and the internet worked. Awful hotel. What didn't I like. 1. The welcome, five people on the desk all chatting amongst themselves and not noticing customers wanting to check in. 2. The parking : off site, round the corner, up a bit left a bit. Poor. 3. The room : carpet appeared dirty, TV channels were limited, room looked tired and unwelcoming. 4. Breakfast : took ten minutes to get a table, milk for cereal was warm, cooked breakfast was cold. Staff disinterested. 5. Staff : not interested, not enough of them, and not well trained. On departure was asked did I enjoy my stay and replied no, response "sorry to hear that". That was it. This is a like it or hate it hotel. I hated it. I travel extensively on business, and all I need, is a decent room, nice bed, TV, and good breakfast and polite, friendly, helpful staff. This hotel had none of those qualities. Best Avoided.

Reception staff were very friendly. We had dinner in Chino Latino and it was excellent, great choice on the menu and the food was really good, would return for this alone. Bar staff were very nice and efficient and helped us to make the best choice from the extensive menu. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this. Our room, we were told had been newly refurbished and it was nice but the tv was ancient and we could not get BBC1, which is a basic british television station. There was only 1 small bottle of shampoo and 1 small bottle of bubble bath for the 2 of us we had to ration them which is ridiculous for a 4 star hotel.

We had a corner room on the 12th floor with fantastic views over Leeds. The room had all mod cons that you would expect in a 4 star hotel and the bed was very comfortable - we both had a wonderful night's sleep. There was a great choice of food at breakfast, including black pudding and fresh figs.

The hotel staff were really friendly and checked us both in and out really quickly. The room was a good size and the bed was huge! The whole room was really clean and nice. The location was good and the shops were within walking distance. The check in and check out times were realy good too! On arrival you have to pay a £25 deposit incase you use anything. We werent told what "anything" was so we assumed it was the mini bar. The mini bar was well stocked but very expensive, £1.85 for a mars bar! So we didnt touch anything in it. The lift was a bit slow, when you pressed the down button it started to come down to your level then went back up again before it reached you so that took a while. There was a couple of iron burns and cigarette burns on the carpet but I thought that was pretty funny :p the bed was a bit squeaky and there was only 1 extra pillow to use so my boyfriend had to sleep with one and the bed was a bit hard but apart from that it was awesome.

Location I didnt think this hotel was worth 4 stars. The room was small and basic. The television did not have all channels. There was nothing 'individual' about the room - we could have been staying in a 2 or 3 star travelodge which would have saved us money. The receptionist gave us a parking voucher (after we had chosen a car park) and when we got back to the car we were told it wasnt valid for that park, despite being owned by the same company. There was no information about parking on the website.

Couldn't be more central - off the train and in the hotel within 5 minutes. Staff on reception welcoming, professional and friendly. The hotel is smart and impressive looking with personality in its design. It felt safe and secure. The interior is tasteful and smart and they have obviously tried to add more colour and personality than is usual in hotel chains. The room I stayed in 'superior double' was elegant and spacious with a huge bed, mini bar, robes and entertainment system. A good night's sleep in a quiet environment. The room needed a touch up - iron burns on the carpet, chipped and damaged wood, rust stains in the bathroom and the room took ages to warm up via a noisy a/c system. There was one fairly thin quilt with no extra blankets as reserve. The television was unacceptably old with poor reception and not enough channels. The mini bar was hideously expensive.

Upon entering the room it appeared that someone had been laying on the bed. There was no striped bed cover, which is normally there and shown In The pictures on the web site. There was old dust, hair and residue in the bathroom, Also there were empty beer bottles in the fridge I did mention this to the reception clerk who made a note of our comments. These comments are made privately to you so that you can rectify and improve you service as it is important to any business and not as sometimes on public social networks where you sometimes are unable to react correctly.

The reception staff could not have been more friendly - perhaps too informal for our taste but very helpful, indeed. The location of this hotel is just excellent. Hotel customers smoking right at the entrance to the hotel - a designated smoking area just a few meters away from the main entrance would be much welcomed by non-smoking customers. Dirty carpets and peeled off paint throughout the corridors were a real put-off. Looking at previous comments, this is a recurring complaint here on booking.com and I am very surprised why the hotel manager continues ignoring this customer feedback. Our room was quite basic, with a dated feel to it - but clean and comfortable. The hotel didn't exceed my expectations, but then again, we only paid £59 per room - hardly a fortune!

Hotel was good however the restaurant was poor. Food was cold and some of the staff were ignorant. For a hotel of this calibre to have a restaurant to accompany is not great in my eyes
