The decor was really lovely, it had been carefully thought about and was smart and well kept. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Huge breakfast menu of high quality and also using local produce. Would definately stay again.

By far and away the greatest asset of this business is the front of house staff. Both friendly and well informed, the levels of customer service were exemplary. Entrance to the hotel and the corridors leading to rooms were a little tatty and in need of upgrade.

I liked the fact that nothing was too much trouble, the staff were lovely and made one feel very welcome. It was warm, clean and well run. I was only there for one night, so as long as it was well kept and clean I was happy, but the bonus was the delightful surroundings, an extremely clean and well proportioned room and warm welcome.

Good location near our office and rural feel right on edge of town - next to walks across managed parkland. Great afternoon tea and quality breakfast. Good value accommodation but food more expensive. Lack of leisure facilities.

The staff were excellent but our stay never met our expectation having asked for a quiet room we were in hearing distance from the m1 motorway and another very busy trunk road so our expected peace and quiet three nights were blotted somewhat. We asked for the toilet and lobby light to be serviced and it was not. Staff gave us the opportunity to change rooms but the bathroom of the alternate bedroom was dirty so we stayed in first though uncomfortable room. The price of soft drinks in the lounge was grossly inflated and the quality therein was shabby. The overall appearance of the hotel needs a huge makeover as the carpets were both dirty and badly worn throughout, even in the bedroom. We werre only staying because our friend booked the room and could not stay due to family reasons otherwise we would have complained even more. Our friend's credit card was charged twice and the hotel didn't mention a word about that so we suggest they are only interested in the bottom profit line and never their paying guests. Not a comforting ideal. We liked the staff but felt they were working under pressure to provide. As a gesture of goodwill, we received a two-drink voucher but on enquiring about was this sort of voucher rare, we were inforned that it happens all the time so this says a great deal about the lack of interest in making guests' experience comfortable and unique.

Helpfull and friendly staff sorted out who sorted out the problem with our booking not having been passed to their system by booking.com. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Dinner menu choice was poor. Good items were spoilt by cooking with things not suited to all tastes .eg. Pork stuffed with black pudding, Monk fish with raspberry vinegar, Duck with chicory.

I could walk to the hospital where I was working, nice to see greenery around a hotel instead of concrete, quite attractive building in a jaded sort of way! Very noisy doors when they slam shut. I was woken up numerous times during the night by people going to their rooms and the corridor door slamming after them on its closer. Waited for quite long times at reception when I wanted things, they cannot see you from where they are working, they don't seem to look at the cctv much!

The food and the attentiveness of the staff was excellent, even during very busy periods when dealing with simultaneous functions. A lamp on both sides of the bed is needed. These would be improved if they were on the wall above the bed for reading at night. The seating in the bar area is comfortable although a little low. However, the tables are too high and make it difficult when trying to eat a meal (the restaurant was closed on the evening of 16 October so we had to eat in the bar).

Good location, comfortable bed On arrival, we were told that our room had been given to someone else, as a party had arrived with larger than expected numbers and that a reservation had been made for us 6 miles away instead. We had been travelling for over 3 hours and were not prepared to accept this. Finally we were allocated another room, but it was not, in our opinion of the standard we had reserved.

Very friendly and helpful staff Bedroom in annexe was rather down-at-heel - but paying budget rates, so a case of receiving what you pay for. Service at breakfast friendly but not particulalry attentive. Dinner adequate rather than special.

Despite proximity to Milton Keynes, the setting was rural and quiet Not that I didn't like but some might worry that it is very much a Milton Keynes wedding venue at the weekend so the hotel is dominated by that.

Convenient for Milton Keynes and other nearby places, but a quiet location. Very pleasant public areas and a good bar. Excellent breakfast, great choice. Prompt attention to requests by staff. The room was looking a little tired, in comparison to the bathroom, which must have been refurbished recently. We had a room with a connecting door, through which you could hear the people talking in the next room (fortunately friends of ours!). Nothing to prevent us from returning though!

Staff excellent very helpful service very good. Barman Lit the open fire for us which really made a difference and it felt like home ! food was wonderful - Receptionist booked my wife a train to London nothing was a problem, location was great out in the countryside peaceful and quite - yet only 10 mins to the center of Milton perfect for me. Room was great and bed comfy and had a great night's sleep. I can recommend the afternoon tea ad sandwich/cakes absolutely delicious and great value at £19 plus two glasses of champagne ! Wifi should be free - £7 for 2 hours ! what's all that about
