Perfect for the congress theatre .rooms were lovely , I understand we were upgraded because it was quiet. The stairs are rather steep but there is a lift.proprietor could not do enough for us , very nice lady .have re booked for July
Free parking and location.
Pillows were uncomfortable
Flexibility, warm welcome, and great garden view
The hotel was very clean and the landlady granted our wish for an upper floor room. We had a lovely family room even though it was only the two of us, felt like a home rather than a hotel. It is close to the beach and close enough to the high street, if the weather was good we could have used the lovely back garden as well. Overall we had a great stay in this hotel and would recommend!
Felt a bit cold at night.
Fantastic location and friendly, home-from-home feel. Would definitely recommend!
Great hospitality and very comfortable rooms
Owner was very friendly and helpful. Her recommendations were good.
Breakfast was like a scene from fawlty towers! Given that she has only had the hotel for a month one can maybe understand but the hotel was full and breakfast was very disappointing to say the least - certainly not what was offered in the book. My husbands scrambled egg was done in the same pan as the bacon so all mixed up! I got 1 poached egg and my friend got 2!!! There were not enough chairs for all the guests and we got toast half hour before our food arrived. Her helper was a real Manuel who didn't have a clue! Everything else about stay was fine so we laughed it off! She definitely needs training in the kitchen.
The location of this hotel was excellent and for the price paid through booking.com you cannot complain. The full English breakfast was freshly prepared and was delicious. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful as to where I could have dinner etc. For the price I really could not say anything negative.
Nothing for the price paid. The hotel could do with an update to the decor and a little TLC but then it would cost significantly more. For the money it will be hard to beat!
Jane the host was amazing - she was very accommodating, so friendly and great with my kids, The place was clean and tidy. The room size was good , Breakfast was great , The beds were so comfortable, the location is great for the seaside , just a short walk to it , and then a 10 minute stroll to the edge of town. Why this place doesn't have a higher rating is beyond me.
Owners and Staff
food and staff very good
room was to small
Excellent breakfast location
Limited parking The timer on the stair lights was too short, not giving enough time to get to the next switch
I have stayed at this hotel previous and I was more than happy. Unfortunately my last visit has changed my opinion. When I booked I was quoted £50 a night i.e. £300 for 6 nights, but when I came to pay this was increased to £307.50. According to the owner the extra char was for paying by credit card. There was no mention of this charge when I booked, neither was I charged on previous occasions. The owner pointed to a piece of paper that had been pined to the back of the office door, and also said it was in the room pack. They insisted I had to pay the extra charge. Originally I booked a 7 night stay and after this had been confirmed a week before my stay I was contacted by the owner and I was told that the Hotel had been sold and that I would have to check out a day earlier so they could pass the keys to the new owners. I found out that this was a lie, they just wanted to sell my room to another customer (at a higher rate). I don't like dishonest people, and on that basis I will never stay here again, and could never recommend this place to a friend.
The proprietor was very friendly. Lovely breakfast. Good location for the sea but a little bit of a walk in to town.
Hotel and room felt thatitcould do with a face lift inside. Décor a bit dated and in some places the wallpaper was stuck up with masking tape. My single bed was on wheels and easily moved -leaving the headboard behind which was attached to the wall!
Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Quiet room. Excellent food selection for breakfast. Kind and happy staff. Ideal position for seafront walks and theatres. Highly recommended.
The hotel is impossible for disabled visitors. There is a lift but there are steps to front door and lift goes to 3rd floor only (take the stairs to 4th floor).
We liked the access to a lift which helped and the room was very comfy and the hotel was round the corner from the beach and town.We loved the breakfast and the staff were great and friendly.Great place.
Has its own car park. Breakfast was good. Staff and owners very friendly and helpful. Good value.
Some of the bedroom furniture very old and a bit tatty could do with updating.
Not being informed in advance that there was at 2.5% surcharge for credit cards.
it was very close to the seafront. it was good value for money.
it is very dated and the room was very small. the shower was only ok.
Very hospitable owners, free car parking, a good sized nicely furnished quiet room and tasty breakfast. Ideally situated near the sea, tennis and theatres and shops, what more could you want?
Nice clean room with comfortable beds.Breakfast very good.
Could do with a tidy up round the front to make it more welcoming.
The staff were wonderful. The owners even stayed up waiting for us to arrive after midnight. The breakfast lovely and there was a very wide range to choose from whether you like cereals Orr a cooked breakfast
Everything is great.
Friendly welcome and clean rooms. Only 20m from the Congress Centre and 150m to the promenade.
